If you want to learn how to speak French, or join a community of French speakers, the Alliance Francaise De Pasadena is the place to go. The instructors are patient, friendly and offer a wide variety of schedules. One-on-one tutoring is available, as well as small classes for beginners, intermediates, and children. The Alliance Francaise De Pasadena also offers a wide variety of cultural events, including movie night, conversation night, soirees and lunches.

The classes offered are taught in a conversational setting by native French-speaking instructors. All the instructors are personable and engaging. The classes are true immersion classes, where 95% of the class is taught and spoken in French. Group conversation is encouraged and is very helpful to learning the language. The pace of classes were perfect for me in that I was always able to ask questions and get answers so I fully understood the concept and vocabulary. As a new student to Alliance Francaise, I had taken college French for 3 years. However, I feel that after taking just one course at Alliance Francaise, I have a better ability to understand and converse in French. Alliance Francaise also offers exceptional resources to students and members, including a great onsite library of books and DVD's and access to countless seminars and social events relating to the French culture and language. Also, the online 'Culturetheque' that is offered by the school has an extensive library of online French books, magazines, games, videos, etc. All of these resources are invaluable tools for learning the language and immersing into French culture. For adults and children, I would highly recommend Alliance Francaise.

The best place to learn French in Pasadena!

My parents took me to the Alliance Francoise De Pasadena for my birthday, but if someone brought me here on a date, I have little doubt that I would put out.

I just completed the five day Grammar Review course taught by the lovely and patient Emma. The class was great as was she. We reviewed the major tenses and chatted in French about many things. Emma was patient and thorough and waited for my brain to switch from English to French. We rarely spoke English. I also attended the Bastille Day luncheon and the Happy Hour at the Raymond. Attendees at both events were warm and inviting. It was easy to practice French no matter what your level in such congenial company. A professional place , friendly atmosphere, and a real desire to help you learn the language, that's Alliance. As a side note I've taken class all over Los Angeles and nothing comes close.

Excellent school. Lovely teachers, small classes, and people are very friendly and kind. I took a beginners accelerated course 2 days a week for 3 hours a day for a month. Our teacher was lovely and very patient. I learned a lot and will be taking more classes with Alliance Francaise.

I really like studying French with Blandine. She's very patient with me as her student. Her patience becomes very helpful when it comes to the liaisons pronunciation in french especially with me. She was a journalist in France and has an unique approach with the written language. On top of that, she's so well traveled and has a wide range knowledge of the French culture throughout the world. All these make my studying with her very interesting and fun! My language skill has improved a lot from studying with her that I could even handle dates in French when I was in France the last time. I strongly recommend Blandine and Alliance française!

A top-quality learning institution, the AFDP is also an Official Exam Center for diplomas that you can take with you to study at a university in France. Friendly staff, excellent teachers, small class sizes, and state-of-the-art tools (smart boards, projectors, etc.) make it an unparalleled learning center. Whether you're an adult who wants to learn French from scratch (as I was), brush up on your French before a trip, or you want to enroll your kid in classes, they are equipped for all ages and all levels. They also have a library where you can check out tons of French-language books, from easy reads to literary classics. Finally, the icing on the cake is their events. Every month their website and social media pages will post entertaining events for all but members (which students become by default) get a discount. For example, just recently, I attended a "blind" taste test game where we were presented three choices of various dishes (olive oil, truffles, macaroons, cream, yogurt, jam, wine, just to name a few) and had to guess which one was French. Une soirée très mémorable! Merci AFDP!

Children's classes are great. Ami is a wonderful teacher very patient and the kids seem to always have fun in her class(teaches 3-5years ). My daughter was taking classes there for 3 years and she loved it. 3-5 years- classes are more fun they have no structure but it gets children comfortable with the French language. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was that they watch tv. 5-older they are more structure. Parking structure next door about $3 Everyone is very friendly you feel comfortable leaving your children here.

There is something for everyone--from complete beginner to fluent francophile--at Alliance Francaise de Pasadena. My favorite offering is the monthly book discussion group. We select the books we want to read several months in advance with consideration to members' interests and language ability. Il faut voir la bibliothèque... un vrai paradis de livres et DVDs.

Friendly and welcoming environment with enthusiastic teachers who share their love for all things French. I am lucky enough to be part of a great, small, highly engaged group. Would thoroughly recommend the Alliance to anyone.

The Alliance Francaise of Pasadena is THE place to learn French. Classes are small, the instructors are excellent, and the staff members are friendly and encouraging. There is a program here for everyone -- from beginning to advanced and beyond -- from very young to very mature. I never thought I would ever like French, let alone love it. But here I am -- in love! I would like to add that this would never have happened if France had not committed itself to sharing its language and culture abroad through organizations like the Alliance. In fact, it is the only country that has done so.

My grandson has been taking French here for two months and he absolutely loves it, teacher is great and the front office staff is always pleasant. He loves to sing Alouette now!

My daughter, now 3 years old has been taking mommy & me french since she was 10 months old. I am amazed at her progress. She understands instructions spoken to her in French & English, and I am even learning along with her! Her teacher, Miss Amina, is a kind and patient native French speaker, who truly has the love and admiration of all of her students. We look forward to our lesson EVERY week, as my daughter chants, I want to see "Miss Amina, in Pasadena!"
