Allmendhubel - Mürren

Big playground with so many cool things. Lots of hiking options. We hiked down to Murren. We also enjoyed the restaurant.

Allmendhubel is really great for families as there is a nice outdoor playground for kids and there's also a short flower trail that can be done in 20 mins. From Allmendhubel, it's about 1.5 hour walk down to Gimmelwald, which passes through Murren. I find this hike very scenic. But there wasn't a lot of trail markings at Allmendhubel except a general direction, so first timers may get a little confused. Maybe the yellow sign that says Wanderweg is the sign, but it should be clearer - saying Gimmelwald instead ? But anyway I found my way

Allmendhubel is a small mountain near Mürren. It can be reached by cable car (17CHF) or by hiking (2.2 km). I recommend hiking, as the scenery is amazing. From the top of the mountain, you can have a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains, including the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and other famous mountains.

On a whim, we jumped on a funky uphill train to Allmendhubel from Murren. It was the best idea of the day, maybe the week. We spent the afternoon on the Panorama Restaurant patio with outstanding Mountain Views, good food and fabulous service (Thank you, Dusan!). There’s an adorable and vibrant children’s “Flower Park” next to the patio so very kid friendly and fun to watch. Views, views views complete with milking cow guests. Highly recommend!!

I hiked from grutschalp to allmendhubel through the Mountain View trail. It is a nice hike with view of the Eiger. After 60 minutes uphill, I came to see a valley of wild flowers, outstanding!

The weather is wonderful, but the season is wrong. There's not much flowers in Sep/19th when we visited. There is a playground & the kids are having good times.
