We recently had the pleasure of staying 2 nights at Allumbah Pocket Cottages while using the Township of Yungaburra as our wedding venue. The cottages were in a perfect location to enjoy everything the town has to offer. We arrived earlier than check in but were able to book in straight away which was fantastic, the room was very clean and stocked with everything you could need for a weekend away. The gardens are amazing and we even ended up taking some of the Wedding photos in them as they were a lovely backdrop. Breakfast in the Coffee Shop at the front was excellent and Salt and Pepper Crumpets is my new favorite Breakfast food. Our Hosts Melanie and Rob were very friendly and helpful with great local knowledge. Thank You it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Could not have been happier at our little cottage. Would have stayed longer if we had more time. Cabins are so roomy and every extra is provided for by the friendly welcoming owners. Having the little coffee/gift shop attached is a bonus. Position is right in town and within walking distance of some great dining venues. Lots of attractions to visit. Highly recommended.

This place is a MUST stay. The website doesn't do it justice - it's immaculately cared for, super clean, very private, and has all the amenities. You've got a communal space and hot tub, free wine at night, and the host couldn't be nicer. We LOVED our stay and hope we can come back soon.

We stayed in one of the cottages for 6 months because of the corona situation. The homeowners were looking for people to live there longer. At first glance it was really nice and clean, but as soon as you looked closely, there was dust in some places, the ceiling was a bit dirty, there was dust and other small details on the fan, so not absolutely clean (it just is an older house and some of the furnishings are a bit older, but that was fine for us. We didn't complain & were happy to have found a home. We were told that air conditioning was not included in the price (with air conditioning you can also heat). In winter it was very, very cold. We & our friends, who also lived in a cottage here, bought a heater (a small heater) because the fire oven was defective (at one point something open where smoke came out) we asked the owner about it, nothing was done, but we didn't want to use it anymore because of the smoke. One time one of the house owners just came into the house, privacy disturbance. beginning of September mber we told the owners that there was something wrong with the toilet and were told it would be fixed in 2 days, none came. It continued to drip and stink of sewage. Instead we found the resignation to our cottage (we wanted to go at the end of September anyway, so it was okay for us) Only on Sunday someone came to repair the toilets. We were told that the bedclothes and linen are cleaned by the owners, we worked on a farm, so of course the towels were no longer white and that we had to replace them is of course understandable. We were supposed to end up cleaning the cottage as we found it, and we did. It wasn't the homeowners who came to check on the last day, but a man who worked for them -. (Marc) Nice man. He told us that everything was fine and that he hadn't seen such a clean cottage in a long time. And that there shouldn't be any problems with the money / deposit. The homeowners didn't want to give us our $ 250 deposit until they checked. They apparently wanted to control it alone, without us. Exactly because of the current situation, we wanted to be there. We got a message that day (we were still in Cairns), "if we are at the near, / if we already driven further away" We were reported several minor errors, - because of the blankets, bed linen (is too dirty ) that everything is not correctly in its place & supposedly 3 people had to clean the cottage for a few hours. It's a shame we didn't take any proof photos at the end because it was clean. It was just as we found it. We understand that we should pay for the duvet & towels. But not the other. Now we only got 50 dollars back of our 250 dollars and unfortunately there was no response to our message to the owners that we are horrified and sad that we are being treated in this way. We feel betrayed & are forced to write this recession because nobody answers that way anymore.

We stayed at Allumbah Pocket Cottages recently for our wedding anniversary. We loved our time there and were impressed with the roomy cottage layout, its privacy, the spa bath, the quality linen and the attention to detail with everything provided. Although it is right in the centre of Yungaburra, you could be out bush anywhere with the way the cottages are located amidst lovely gardens and with a bush outlook. Our hosts were helpful but unobtrusive and the drinks provided in the lounge area, so guests could mingle if they wished, was another lovely touch. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Lovely cottage decorated with taste. The hosts also run the small cafe/gift shop at the front where you can have a good value breakfast. There is not much to do in the area but it was a very relaxing stay.

Fantastic, cozy but spacious and very private little cottages with beautiful gardens, great central location. Would definitely like to come back hopefully in winter so we can use the fire place.
