Months ago, stop by to get some empanadas and vowed to return trying their food, wonderful decision
The bread was good and clever idea to serve with the chimichurri, definitely made in house taste of the garlic parsley blessing for sure, good start!
The “Alma” empanadas are my favorite so I went ahead and got six, love the Malbec red wine after taste, the Ossobucco/Chorizo tasted like sweet Italian sausage with red peppers, was good, but still prefer the Almas steak onion pepper infusion
Never had a Milanesa but it is basically a breaded chicken or steak, but the breading shows the Italian influence that it had in this country because I could taste the oregano and some other herbs that reminds me of a chicken Parmesan but a different style, I recommend getting a topping, in this case the margarita that had melted cheese fresh tomatoes and dash of basil, for the side, I recommend a Caprese salad because the milkiness of the mozzarella compliments this very well, can’t wait to try the other flavors
The Parilla Large feeds between 3 to 4 people, nice way to sample a bunch of grilled items BUT I should’ve asked what was on the platter so that was completely my fault. The first plate had some unique items, but some of them were too unique, still was a good sport and tried them anyway. What look like octopus tentacles with no suckers was actually Cow small intestines. It taste like liver with rubbery lining, everything on this particular platter wasn’t my preference so my rating wouldn’t be accurate on it as someone who eats those type of things.
Now the steak plate, Flap meat and outside skirt steak for the win! You can taste the perfectly grilled (doesn’t taste too gassy or charcoaly) not under/over seasoned beefy tenderness with every bite, no tough gristle overwork your jaw or fatty cuts all lean juicy savory convincing me why the Argentinians are the king of steaks. The beef rib was a little fatty and I wasn’t a fan of it but the flap/skirt stole the show it’s ok!
Dessert:
Flan was recommended, it wasn’t bad, but just tasted like a homemade eggy flan, generous side though
Mis Hojas: loved it, at first thought it was going to be too sweet because there was layers of dulce de leche, but the flakiness of the puff pastry, dulce mousse was also in between, with the icing on top was a perfect sweet punch and balanced, highly recommend
so if you stop by here, make sure you know what you’re getting, but I do recommend any steak dish, salad, even the mashed potatoes(it’s a very small portion though), and last but not least that dessert Mis Hojas, you will thank me later, this place deserves more credit, and the service was awesome, bottle of wine for $25 that three people could drink off of, get right
