This was our first time here. The atmosphere was nice, had more of a bar or a tavern feel then a brewery atmosphere, which i didn't mind. Service was a little on the slow side, but nothing real bad for how busy they where. Food was decent, nothing to special, but perfect for something close and local, on a Monday night. Bathrooms and dining area were very clean and sanitary. Over-all had a great experience and would dine there again.

The prime dip was great and the beer did the job. Our server Jacob was very professional and speedy quick. I was very impressed how fast our food came out for how busy they were. My wife and I will definitely be back.

It doesn't get much better than this. The atmosphere and anesthetic alone is very appealing. I love the old school look, and downtown area of Alma. The Brewery leans into that. The food is some of the best I've had at a brewery, or even in a restaurant. Great variety and tons of flavor. You can tell they like to explore a little, and I appreciate that too. The staff was incredible. Love when they almost get to know you and joke/ share laughs. MUST HAVE SCOTCH EGGS AND SWEET POTATO FRIES! Please go and support asap!

Google
Kady our server was amazing! Pretzel with beer cheese was huge and amazing. Had a great time.

Google
The service was excellent. Food was good, but not great. My jalapeño, raspberry burger. Great concept, execution, was mediocre. I asked for medium well, got medium, at best Parm fries, not for me. Looked like the chef had simply dumped Kraft Parmesan over the fries.

Visiting the town of Alma for the first time, to celebrate a good friend! Alma Brewing was suggested by Saravilla Bed and Breakfast where I was staying! Terrific from top to bottom, cool atmosphere which was matched by the great food and beer! The Rodeo Burger and the Milk Stout were exactly what I needed after a 5 hour trip. A must visit if you close and I hope to check out more of Alma the next 2 days! A hidden gem! Cheers!

Have eaten here a few times and really love the vibes and atmosphere. Beer is really good with a nice variety. Our wings were great but brew sticks kinda dry and over done. All in all highly recommend it and will come again when in town.

The Brewery Tour continues with an unexpected stop in Alma. Hey, when your Uber rider takes you far afield, look for breweries. Especially ones that serve food. This is a terrific space! The woman working is super nice, almost like you've known her for years even though you just walked in the door. Working solo and dealing with a dozen+ customers and she made it look completely effortless. Kudos, Sarah! The menu isn't huge but it is solid. The burgers have some interesting combinations (Raz Burger, looking at you) and they're 1/3 lb! Decided to go a bit more mainstream and get the Rodeo burger. That was a really good choice. Filled the bun perfectly (too many screw that up). The fries were a good quantity, I wasn't overfull when I was finished. Still wish I had ordered the Scotch eggs, though. Ordered a flight, many tastes but just one beer's worth. The Straight Ca$h, Homie, Gritty Kitty, Ceilidh & Train Wreck are all quite good for their styles. Sadly, I left my recently emptied growlers home in my rush out the door or a couple others would've followed me home. Another great place I wish was a lot closer to home. Well, that's what road trips are for! 🏍 Vroom, vroom.

Yelp
First visit and really liked it! The pretzel was super fun because of how huge it was. They have a huge selection of beer. We aren't drinkers and came just for the food. They were out of the iconic cheese curds and raspberry sauce, so that was disappointing. I heard this place was a must visit in Alma, enjoyed my experience, and would return!

Yelp
It was a truly delightful experience, with excellent food, impeccable service, and wonderful music. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Yelp
Stopped in to checked out their beer and wasn't disappointed! Probably a dozen beers on tap to choose from, and a pretty good variety. Service was friendly, helpful in beer selection. Food was also great, my friend had a Mac & Cheese hamburger that she couldn't get enough of! I'll come back and hit the place again when I'm the area, easy!

Yelp
Every time we stop- we talk about how much we like this place. The service is good, the beers are great, and the food never disappoints. We love the laidback vibe and all the tv's to watch the game. Beers change on their menu- but there is something for everyone on it. I typically go for a fruity one. We always get the cheese curds. They are served with this amazing raspberry jalapeño jam that I can't get enough of!! Order this!! I got a burger and my boyfriend got a French dip- delicious. Bar food but better for sure.

Yelp
Used to be a decent place. Recently the food and service have steeply gone downhill. $19 burger and fries that tasted like it was leftover from the trash at Burger King. Fries were the only things edible. Ceaser Salad with chicken ($18) horrible. Croutons were soggy. Rubbery chicken from a bag. Lettuce was served warm, not cold and crispy. Worse than most dorm food. Their beers are interesting but the Mt. Pleasant owners should do some quality control and fire the managers and food service people. I guess this is why it is mostly empty. Avoid this place.

Yelp
This place is very cool, super inviting atmosphere with a dedicated sports and games room, great menu a tough pricey but options.. good selection of drinks and great bar and table layout- cool place

Penny L.

Yelp
The food was awful as was the service. We do not know our server's name but she never checked back on us to see if our food was ok. We then had to wait for the bill and finally had to ask the hostess to please check us out. $50 dinner that was inedible and served horribly. Please do better!!

Yelp
Management is horrible manager of the kitchen is to busy drinking at the bar to give a care about anything and the workplace Is full of gossip.

Yelp
Wow!!! What a fun place to hang out. The little town of Alma, also known as Scottland, USA. Appartently, they have a large celebration around Memorial Day celebrating the Scottish heritage. We stopped in Alma Brewing on our brewery tour of the area. This was my first time in Alma. We found a few seats at the bar and enjoyed a sample flight of beers. The beertender was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable and you could tell that he genuinely enjoyed his job. We ended up splitting a Scottish Egg and the Prime Rib French Dip. Everything was delicious and paired well with our beers. If you happen to be in the area, Alma Brewery is the place to be.

Yelp
I love this place. The beer is great. The food is great. The popcorn is amazing. They have happy hour. A very relaxed but cool atmosphere. The wait staff is phenomenal. They have a trivia night. Tvs for watching the game. Great location. Mug club. If youre anywhere near this place stop in. You wont regret it.

Yelp
Great stop for pub fare and a beer. We were only in for a quick bite and rest stop while driving through Alma. The service was efficient and the food was as advertised. We'd go back.

Yelp
GREAT small-town brewery. The service was exceptional - very friendly and helpful. I also had a really nice time talking with the patrons, liked the food, and the beer delicious. The atmosphere was definitely my style of inviting, casual, and historic. Would definitely be a regular here if I lived nearby.

Yelp
The staff was friendly, the food was good and plenty of beers to choose from. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Opens later in the day. Visited after Alma College football game. Great, upbeat atmosphere. Really nice heavy appetizer menu. Cheese curds and fried pickles were great! Friendly staff and locals. Kracken IPA is pretty tasty

Frank V.

Yelp
I had their Parmesan Herb Cod. The Parmesan Herb topping was sour and completely overcame the Cod. Very taste and poor meal.

Yelp
This place is great. Unique, local fresh comfortable and yet high end. Love that they have vegetarian options. I had lunch special a vegetarian humus veggie pita with a side salad for $6.99. Also had the homemade beer cheese appetizer with fresh baked pretzels. It was amazing. Bread was fresh soft out of the oven and the cheese had a nice little kick. The side salad that came with the lunch special was surprisingly large. The humus panini was also delicious with lots of grilled veggies.

Yelp
All great... food, beer, staff, atmosphere. Will return again when in Alma. Even during covid times. Worth the visit.

Yelp
I love that Its set in an older main street building, the beer and service were good. We got the philly, brewben and pastrami pannini, all of which were better than expected, the Philly was especially excellent. The. Kettle chips were also pretty great!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
The service and beer was good! I enjoyed the atmosphere. My food was pretty good also, I had the cheeseburger panini. My only complaint is that it was completely covered in oil/grease. Even the bottom of the bread got soggy. I wish I could give half stars because other than that everything was okay, just left a little something to be desired.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere, we been going to different breweries all weekend and this is the best beer by far!! Great service, cool place we will definitely be back!

Yelp
I grew up in Alma. To see a place like this, with the kind of atmosphere they've created and the quality of the experience, it's really a great establishment for the area. They've recently expanded to a whole additional storefront which is allowing them to expand their menu. This will be awesome when it comes to full fruition. Tonight was "the busiest they've been" according to our server, and it seemed like it. The expansion is very new so Grace is given for the -- hopefully out of character -- slow service. That's the only complaint. I had the spicy chicken panini and it was outstanding. I also had the Red-X Smash beer, which appeared to be a limited run but was very very good. All in all, I'm glad for my hometown for the addition and expansion of this place. It's a great option for folks in Alma and anyone passing through. Even in comparison to places in neighboring towns (Ithaca, St. Louis, Shepherd, Mt. Pleasant) I think this place sets a high bar. Worth a stop without a doubt.

Yelp
Wife and I passing through and stopped for lunch. Wow, its was all good, service, food, beer, and atmosphere. Try it you'll like it..

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch, nice casual spot that wasn't too busy. The service was good, the food was alright. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try the beer.

Yelp
Made it out of the kitchen.... That's the only positive thing about the Nachos. Would come again though because their Iron Horse IPA is impressive and the Brewsticks were delish.

Yelp
Honestly We stopped here because my daughters name is Alma but I don't regret it at all. The food was amazing and so was the service. we plan on coming back again when we are up in the area.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
The atmosphere inside is good, it is a bit small and can get pretty crowded. Prices aren't too bad for the beer. About average $6-10 each. The food prices are a tad on the steep side, but let's be honest, who comes here to eat? The service was just ok... That's actually the reason I didn't give 4 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
This is now my go-to place in Alma when meeting pals. I love the hummus wrap, yum! They always have a great stout or porter on tap. There's TV for sports lovers, but it isn't loud, so I can have great conversations with pals.

Yelp
Stopped in after being disappointed with a neighborhood bar. Got the beer cheese with soft pretzels, house salad, and a turkey stack for dinner. The turkey was great, and the salad seemed to please my girlfriends. The true star was the beer cheese and pretzels, which was outstanding. The beer cheese (a spread, not a dip, made in house) had a great peppery spice to it, and worked well with the pretzels. The beer is essentially all Mountain Town's (I'm not sure why they have different names), so I tried the Alma Ale, which I haven't seen before. It was decent enough that we'd get a growler next time we're in. The only issue was there is not enough meal options for a vegetarian (I don't consider a salad to be a meal, ever). There was a sandwich, but it had ingredients my girlfriend couldn't eat.

Jamie L.

Yelp
Sad. They changed the food menu which resulted in me having to order the Fish & Chips, which were greasy and tasteless. The menu is horrible. The two beers, which were two different ones, were lukewarm at best. The waitress not very attentive, I had to go to the bar for the second beer. This place went from a place I recommended to everyone to one I won't. I don't care if I ever go back.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick beer in Summer 2016. Had the Diesel 10 IPA and it was really good. Service was really friendly and the food options looked good although we didn't have time to try anything. Looking forward to coming back and trying some more beers and food.

Yelp
my friend and I brought my mom up to wander around her old college town last weekend... found this on yelp and thought we would try it... quite happy we did... the beers were tasty... we had the beer cheese and pretzels for an appetizer which had a nice unexpected kick to them... i had a veggie sandwich and the ladies had the lunch special with soup and sandwich. The servings were large and the food was of surprising quality given how small the place was... would definitely go back next time we are in Alma

Yelp
Great Brew Pub in a small town. All sandwhiches are Panini grilled and the craft beer selection is very good. The service and staff are excellent and coversational. Very enjoyable place to relax in the early aftetnoon.

Yelp
I was very, very excited when I heard ABC was opening. There are very few restaurants in downtown Alma. I am now very disappointed after going there twice to try them out. Atmosphere: great atmosphere even if small. They did a very nice job with the decor! It draws you in looking like an upscale brew pub. Service: on both trips to ABC, the service was HORRIBLE. Glasses were empty and after multiple walk by's by our wait staff we had to ASK to get a refill. That should never happen with a bar, pub, restaurant, etc. One trip we had to ASK for a menu and the wait staff never stopped by to ask if we wanted to order or if we wanted a refill. Beer: beer and its beauty is in the taste of the drinker. In my opinion, the Iron Horse IPA was good (3 stars) and tasted like it had 100 IBU's (6.6% ABV). The Alma Pale Ale was horrible (0 stars) and tasted like it has 0 IBU's even after claiming they use Columbus and cascade hops. The Highlander was passable as a Scotch Ale (? IBU's and 5.5 % ABV). They have a Gluten Free (cannot remember the name of it) beer that tasted like medicine...horrible. The beer overall is sub-par compared to other micro-brew pubs in Michigan. Food: Food selection is limited to sandwiches and a small appetizer selection. I have had their grilled cheese (Grilled Three Cheese) and it reminds me of what I make at home, but nothing fancy. I then tried the Brewhouse Brewben (corned beef) and it was good, but again, nothing fancy. Only offering a dozen sandwiches, it would be a great place for lunch, but that would be about it. Overall, based on the service and beer offered, I was more than disappointed and can only give it 2 stars.

Casey A.

Yelp
Okay, so I was excited when I heard that Alma, MI was getting its own brewery and I had one good experience and one bad experience. That's why I'm giving them three stars. First off, the atmosphere is delightful. It was well constructed, it has a feel that's very "Alma". Service: On one trip, it was great. They regularly asked us if we needed anything, everything was delivered on time, and everything was fine. I left a nice tip. The second trip, which was dinner time at homecoming weekend, was awful. We had to ask for popcorn, drinks, and to have our orders be taken. After 45 minutes, we still hadn't received our appetizer which was just chips and cheese. They were understaffed and there were too many people there. I've worked at restaurants before where we had extra people around on holidays, they really need to learn that's what needs to happen. It's owned by the guys that own Mountain Town Brewing in Mount Pleasant so they could have had extra workers available. Food: The popcorn is AMAZING! Apparently, only two people know the recipe for the seasoning and I highly recommend eating some if you don't mind getting addicted to something. Beer: I've always found Mountain Town Brewing to be okay beer, not great, but okay. The 2-3 beers they make in Alma were the best. The microbrews are always better than something you'd get at Pine Knot which basically just serves beer-flavored water in my opinion. Food: I didn't get to try the food because we left after 45 minutes. I paid for my beer, but they hadn't even started our meals yet. Again, it was homecoming weekend so they were overworked and understaffed. I hope ABC gets better in the future. I'd be happy to try them again and I recommend that you try out ABC in the future.

Yelp
For a dinky lil town like Alma this brewery knows how to keep it real. They got a dank selection of beers. Popcorn is addictive especially after a couple brewskis. They stay open waaaaay past close for groups too which must suck for the waitstaff but is DOPE for the custos. Also there are some pretty fineeeee bartender boys that work there.

Rc Lori H.

Yelp
We pulled into Alma today and asked our phone for brew pubs and to our surprise they have one, ABC. Had a couple of their brews (prices ranged from 4 - 4.5) they were good IMO. We drink almost exclusively craft beer unless we have no choice and are stuck with commercial goat pee. We had the Brewben sandwich that was really good. It's worth checking out.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and lunch specials in the summer! Haven't tried the beer or anything else yet. Small cool little atmosphere!

Lon S.

Yelp
Russ/Ross (my hearing is horrible) took great care of us. Had the pretzel slders last time and they were very good. The Hammer was todays fare and was very tasty too.

Ivan T.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch, working so I couldn't sample the beer but the food and the service was great. I had the cheese steak sandwich, the shaved ribeye was cooked perfectly. I will stop in again.

Leslie S.

Yelp
Nice, clean atmosphere with friendly service. The menu was limited to sandwiches. The food was a little disappointing and not as fresh and flavorful as we were expecting. The pretzel sliders were the best part of the meal.

Aeric R.

Yelp
It is a very nice place, with good people. Tuesday night trivia night, which is a lot of fun! Great place for a small town.

Yelp
got really loaded here the other night. great spot if youre ballin on a budget!!

David C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great beer, and the menu is genious. Good variety, but they keep there food costs in check well with the more limited menu. Only knock, it's definitely a small space. All around love it, staff is always friendly, and I will go back
