Alma del Pacifico was a delight to stay at. When my wife and I first got there, we were a little lost as the front lobby is literally a desk. Somehow, we missed the little bell to ring for service and just kept on walking until we got to the restaurant and got turned around to where we needed to be. Karolina, the hostess, got us checked in and took us to our villa. We had a "Garden Villa" at the far end of the resort. It was quiet, but if I have any regret, it was that we didn't spring for the upgrade to get a beach-front villa as most were empty during the time we were there as it was in October during the rainy season and thus the slower tourist season in Costa Rica.
What that did mean was that we had the whole place practically to ourselves. There were a couple other guests, but we hardly saw them and our time walking up and down the beach was done in solitude. It was wonderful. In pictures, I imagined the beach to be a little coarse and rough but the sand was so smooth and fine that it was wonderful to spend time on. Even walking in the rain was pleasant since it never really got cold.
The restaurant staff was wonderful. Freddie, Angie, and the rest of the terrific people there were patient with my Spanish and helpful in meeting our needs. The food was great and the breakfast was plentiful.
Our room, although it wasn't a beach-front villa, was spacious and comfortable. The bed was a little hard for my wife, but perfect for me. The indoor/outdoor shower was a nice touch.
Thank you to Alma del Pacifico for making the middle part of our Costa Rica trip a comfortable one.
