How Artisans, Curators, and Designers Are Telling the Story of Contemporary Tangier

"Alma Kitchen and Coffee, which was recently opened by young jewelry designer Lamiae Skalli and photographer Seif Kousmate, reinvents Tangier's cafe culture for young Moroccans with a minimalist design using ivory zellige tiles and custom-made furniture."

After 11 days in Morocco, this was one of the best meal that we had by far! My husband and I loved this restaurant. It’s got a great vibe and the music is good too. Everyone needs to eat here! I’m so happy that we found this spot in Tangier. The food is AMAZING! We had the trio of dips, salad (so fresh), fish tacos, octopus (so tender) with delicious potatoes, and hot chocolate. Our waiters were so kind and helpful. It felt so nice to eat dinner in a clean & peaceful setting after our 11 day trip in Morocco came to an end in Tangier. So, if you’re the owner reading this: thank you so so much for creating this beautiful restaurant. It means a lot to us as travelers to find a place like this to rest and enjoy flavorful food. Your team is very kind and helpful too!

Moroccan-owned and fairly managed. Great atmosphere with a lot of natural light and greenery. Great coffee&food. Cheerful staff always with a smile on their faces. Good wifi and not too noisy outside of rush hours for those looking to work as well. All around great experience every time!

A real gem in tangier that was visited more than once. Located in a nice calm area, Alma’s tranquil setting makes for a nice contrast to the bustling Tangier city and its Medina. The staff were wonderful, inviting and very friendly. The food was exceptional and fun, with a nice Moroccan twist. The coffee was also excellent. Thank you to the Alma team for such a wonderful experience. We hope to visit your gorgeous establishment again soon.

Beautiful spot, airy with lots of natural light, seating on two levels inside and also out front. The potato appetizer is amazing. Fried olives, eggplant appetizer, basically everything I tried was delicious. Staff is lovely. The chai latte was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Alma Kitchen is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Morocco. From the moment you walk in, the place impresses with its beautiful, modern interior and calm, welcoming vibe. It’s a perfect spot for brunch, lunch, or even just a quiet coffee break. The food is exceptional—fresh, creative, and full of flavor. I highly recommend the roasted cauliflower with mint cashew cream and their vegan sandwich on sourdough—absolutely delicious! The menu is inclusive of vegan and gluten-free options, which is rare and very appreciated. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English. They were happy to explain the menu and accommodate dietary needs. The service was fast and professional, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inspiring. If you’re in Tangier, Alma Kitchen is a must-visit—whether you’re a foodie, a health-conscious traveler, or just someone who enjoys good food in a beautiful setting. I’ll definitely be coming back!

When you are tired of traditional food - great spot with minimalistic design. Service could definitely be improved - waiters looked lost as it was lunch time. But good place to return for sure. Loved their coffee
