Alma San Juan

Spent 5 nights here and enjoyed it. The room was very nice and clean, only complaint was no natural light. Room was nicely done, beautiful shower, comfy clean bed. Housekeeping was impeccable. There was a minibar well stocked with local beer and assorted wine and pop. In room coffee was a Nespresso, OK but I'd rather real coffee.. Just me. Coffee shop in the lobby was great. I appreciated little motion triggered night lights under the bed so I could find the bathroom. Which.. You can actually flush toilet paper! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Checkout time is 11 and I had time before leaving for the airport, so they were happy to store my bags for me a few hours. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Positive: Location. Couldn't be better situated for access to the Old Town. Plentiful hot water. Negative: The noise from the lobby was too much. It echoed throughout the hotel. Maybe above floor 4 would have been quieter. The room was not serviced throughout our stay. The shower was plumbed up incorrectly. Hot & cold were switched.

We had an amazing one night stay following the SanSe celebration. The hotel’s staff were kind and hospitable given they just finished the biggest rush of the season. We stayed in a double Queen room. The rooms were immaculately clean and well ventilated. Rooms were stocked with Molton Brown toiletries. The rooftop plunge pool had an amazing 180 degree view of Old San Juan and the Castillo. The plunge pool was a little too cold for me, even under direct hot sunshine, I would have preferred some temperature control with that, that’s so minor, and it was still an enjoyable experience. The hotel really cares about attention to detail and hospitality. We had guava cookies and bottles of water waiting for us on our nightstand/bed after a quick walk through OSJ after checking in. Krystal and Claudio helped check us out and valeted our bags for us while we enjoyed every last bit of San Juan before we headed back to the airport. Krystal even went above and beyond by helping me with my friend’s bags when my friend had to run outside after an uber was re-routed around the small road in front of the hotel. The attached cafe also offers a nice selection of breakfast pastries and coffee.

We stayed at Alma San Juan Hotel in Old San Juan and overall had a good experience. The location is great, the room was clean, and housekeeping was fantastic. The staff was great and very friendly and helpful. The only issue was the hot water. Even with the shower set to full hot, it often took 15–20 minutes to warm up, and some days it never got past lukewarm. We told the front desk about it and they did send a maintenance person to check it out, but it didn’t change anything. That was pretty frustrating considering the cost. Aside from that, everything else was what you’d expect, but the hot water issue definitely took away from the experience.

We had a beautiful room, with a balcony, that overlooked iconic Plaza Colon. Easy walk to get to all sites and restaurants in Old San Juan. We ate at the rooftop Mar y Rosa where the food and service was exceptional and they were amazingly accomodating of my many food allergies. We hope to return soon and again enjoy the incredible views from the rooftop plunge pool.

Location - 15 out of 10. Room - 9 out of 10…lovely, modern, but no outside facing windows. It *did* have a big window facing the internal cathedral style sky roof, which was lovely. Service - 10 out of 10…staff was attentive, responsive, and the text communication was 👌🏾

Room is nice at first glance. However the windows are tiny, so no view, but they have inadequate curtains so it’s still bright even at night. The sound proofing is trash so you’re hearing constant sounds of people and doors slamming. The bathroom has smells coming up the drain pipes, and a shower without a door and with not very good water pressure. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to work in a way that correlates with the thermostat. The staff are nice enough and the location is good

Alma San Juan is fantastic! Perfect location in Old San Juan with stunning views from the lively rooftop bar and jacuzzi (especially fun on weekends). Rooms are modern with brand-new appliances, beautiful hardware, super comfortable beds, and great smart TVs. Food at the bar is surprisingly tasty. Everything feels fresh and well-kept. Highly recommend – already want to come back!

Estuve en el hotel dos noches y mi experiencia fue buena. El parking puede ser dificultoso pero hay garaje municipal cerca. Pude parquear justo al frente del hotel y usé Uber para llegar a Casa España para una boda y caminé de regreso porque era muy cerca. El manager del restaurante nos atendió súper bien y muy informativo. La comida riquísima. Alma Hotel es recomendable y volveré.

My partner and I booked 5 nights at Alma at the end of June. We had difficulty finding parking when we arrived due to some issues with the power grid and an abundance of cruise ship tourists. The staff recognized the difficulty and offer us a free room upgrade to a deluxe king suit with a balcony. The hotel itself is so well curated, from the art to the ambiance, no detail was left behind. I was also so impressed with the housekeeping. It was by far the most detailed housekeeping I've ever experienced. They even organized my makeup and skincare. There is also an AMAZING restaurant just on the roof with beautiful views of San Juan. I wish I could give this hotel a 6th star. Well done, Alma!
