Great place to eat and feel like a local! Really quiet and calm. The two men inside were really polite and helpful! We choose the dish with seta y jamón (mushrooms and ham) and the salad with tomato y atún (tomato and tuna). Amazing tomatoes by the way!!! We really enjoyed the wine (was extremely tasty and good price !!!). Thank you again!

Great local place with good range of tapas and simple rations for small space. Staff are very friendly and helpful and manage any crowds well. Sobrasado is excellent and all cheeses on offer look magnificent. Lots character - would come back again.

Great neighborhood spot while visiting my sister in Spain. Highly recommend the tomate añilado and 2-3 tostas depending on how hungry you are (for two people). Very generous serving sizes, so 2 tostas are plenty. Amazing selection of Spanish wine.

Stop by Casa Gerardo for the best tomato salad and an amazing variety of cheeses to choose from. The menu offers much more but we were very happy with this for dinner. Wonderful wine selection here too!

Very local, charming bar. From a great selection of wines, vermut and cheese, lots of cheese! Hidden gem! 💎

Excellent food in a narrow and authentic tapas bar in La Latina. The service wasn’t the best but honestly the food made up for it. The tomatoes were amazing , as were the toasts - we tried the sardines & the mushroom toast. Sadly they were out of fresh asparagus, wouldn’t recommend getting the canned ones which we tried for.

Cute little tapas bar! Loved the tapas that we ordered. I will never be able to forget the tomato salad that we ordered, it was the sweetest, freshest, juiciest tomatoes I've ever had, perfectly paired with quality olive oil, feta and olives.

Small, cute taberna. We got the manchego semi curado, a tomato salad, gilda and stuffed pickle. Delicious. The vermut is on tap and the cava is crisp.

Yelp
Some friends live on Calatrava, and this is their favorite of the bars/cafes/restaurants on that street. This place is classic Spain, or rather classic Madrid: dark wooden interior with a raised bar manned by well-dressed bartenders, clientele a socioeconomic mix, united by proximity, beer slung beside vermuth and all your traditional cured meat plates and some seafood with the "cecina" standing out as the heavy hitter. We always end up spending more money here than we mean to. One more plate of cecina, another round of vermuth, another hour soaking in the setting, tossed on the waves of conversation. That's Spain for me, and in that undertow it's hard to escape with your bank account intact. It's not that Casa Gerardo is an expensive place by any means; it's that the place foments prolonged social engagements so characteristic of its host culture. Having a good time costs money! TL;DR Casa Gerardo is a must-see if you want to be immersed in a typically Madrileño experience.

Yelp
On our first night in Spain, we woke up from a siesta and needed to find dinner relatively late. We found Casa Gerardo and this was before we knew Spanish eating culture (which is, order drinks first, wait for the free tapa, then order dinner). We did the opposite, ordered food then later ordered wine (oops). The lady in charge was so nice - I struggled in my choppy Spanish to order and she was very patient. We ordered three toasts: queso payoyo, boquerones, and tuna (cooked). Everything was delicious and service was great. I was very impressed with our experience given our naivete, and prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Almacen de Vinos is exactly that. A great place for fantastic wines of Spain by the glass. You can even get a Priorat by the glass. The bar is over 100 years old and off the beaten path. Every time I go there are only Madrileños. Try the "Hippie Cheese" tostada. Excellent!
