We were treated warmly as we arrived at the reception on the first floor. It was early so they stored our bags until 3 pm check in. We came back and checked in around 5pm. We traveled to the 6th floor to check in. All went good. Front desk was in good humor and all was well. Our room was on the 7th floor. When we arrived the room was warm but it required the key card to be inserted into a slot. I just thought it was at a maintenance temperature until check in. WRONG!!! We got another keycard so could leave one in the slot. By midnight it was clear this is the room temperature, 25 degrees C. I tried to adjust the target temperature to 18 as the display never was able to go below 25. I spent the night trying to understand what was going on. The next morning we went to the front desk to advise and they said they would send a technician. He arrived promptly but only said to leave the fan on, it was. When I showed him that the temperature shows on the display 25 degrees at that moment. He said that that never changes, just to disregard that display. When we showed that we now have the ac set to 16 and the room felt like 25. No no, that’s wrong he advised. That he also gets hot at night. We asked to have a fan brought up. It was. Over the next night the room was at roughly 20 degrees with fan at full speed and a sweep. Tonight, I am writing this at 3:30am and the room feels 25 degrees. ||||My conclusion is the room has no control over the ac, the technician will not, can not adjust the temperature or does not know what to do. So in the end, we were unable to sleep a good nights sleep on the last day of our 3 night stay. ||||In summary, I would avoid the Almacruz Hotel unless you need a warm room, borderline hot room because that is your preferred temperature. Not mine, and it was nice they tried to help but it appears they know they have an ac problem and either it was by design or they just don’t want to spend the money to fix it. Regardless, had I known I would never have booked these rooms. More so, they were very nice in bringing a fan, but that did not solve my problem. ||||Second issue, a bed that served its time, made a lot of money for the hotel, and was over used for a period of years. I have experienced worse, and the a/c issues took my attention, but this hotel has seen better days.

We had an emergency at the airport and luckily we found a room at this hotel. Everyone was so nice to us. From the concierge to the receptionist. They explained the food and locations. The hotel is beautiful in its own way. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed the breakfast. The room was clean and we heard nothing through the night. Very well located. And the pool was perfect. It is really like the pictures they show.

I booked this hotel through Booking.com for a 2 night stay based on its good reviews. The terms of the booking were that there would be no payment until I stayed at the hotel and I paid a little extra to have this facility. The hotel took full payment over 7 months prior to my scheduled stay. I contacted the hotel on numerous occasions to request a refund and they did not respond to any of my messages or emails. I then had to contact Booking.com who also had difficulty contacting them and they agreed to refund the money. I was told that it would take 30 days for it to be processed, which is ridiculous. After much chasing up for a month by me and Booking.com they told Booking.com that it had been processed but nothing showed on my credit card. It has taken 2 months to get a refund, which I received from Booking.com as nothing came through from the hotel. An apology and communication updating me from the hotel would have been appreciated. I would have understood as mistakes can happen. Terrible customer service and I of course cancelled the reservation. Be careful if you book this hotel.

Excellent place, very pretty decor, and the staff were super friendly and helpful at all times. The location is great for exploring the historic center of Greater Santiago, as well as for tourist connections, offering a wide range of options. The breakfast was luxurious, and the pool was excellent. I will always return.

The hotel is in an excellent location in the Old Town area of Santiago, close to Lastarria and Bellavista which are both wonderful for many restaurants and bars. The swimming pool area of the hotel is small and quiet but perfect to get away from the city feeling for a moment. However, there was a national power outage in Chile on our first night and although this only lasted a few hours the hotel did not have any power for over 12 hours which wasn't ideal. The staff did deal with this the best they could but it still caused us inconvenience like being unable to have food in the restaurant etc.

Very friendly and helpful crew. Some of them speaks English well some of them don’t but they help you to solve everything. Valet car parking is very nice you just leave your vehicle at the front door and ask them to park it to the garage. Then when you need it again you just ask for it 30 minutes before. The restaurant is nice. Ceviche and the seafood share plate is amazing. You can ask for gluten and diary free options as well. The area looks a bit messy but i had no problems at all during my 5 days long stay. Please clean the carpets and Almacruz will be a perfect hotel 😘

The hotel is very shabby the carpets and some of the furniture is stained and dirty. Staff is very polite and responsive, but my room isn’t being cleaned until after 2 o’clock there’s a tub in my room but no tub stopper so you couldn’t take a bath the same for the sink. Towels are very worn and rough.

Air conditioning was fixed at 77 (25c) degrees with no control. Windows were fixed so no relief from the outside cool air. Called front desk immediately and they sent a technician that said to leave the system with the fan running…🤪🙈 they brought us a fan. On our last night the system collapsed and the room felt more like 26 - 27c so the fan was just moving the warm air around. There are better options in this same area.

Yelp
Good rooms and buffet but no frills / rude and unhelpful front desk. Definitely need some training in manners and customer service. Central location
