We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay in Competa in early September. The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and a charming view over the town square. Maurice made us feel very at home, with lots of local restaurant recommendations and helped us to make bookings, suggestions for activities and helpful directions. The breakfasts on the terrace were delicious. We also enjoyed this space in evenings for drinks, where we had views all the way to Morroco on a clear day. Highly recommend.

A friend of ours took us there for breakfast. It was a mouth watering experience. So refreshing to have a breakfast with a difference and not the same old traditional type of meal. Service was impecable as was the decor, cleanliness and and rooms. Owners and staff so obliging and friendly. The view is stunning looking out onto the gorgeous very spanish town church in the square and the homes reaching up the hills. |Will definitely recommend Aljimara guest house in the future. Well done !!!!

My second time at Almijara Residence, and I hope not my last. Stylish and modern, but still authentic, with a convenient and charming location on the main square. Maurice is a thoughtful, attentive and very knowledgeable host, and serves a great breakfast up on the terrace overlooking the square. It’s a great base for exploring the villages, campo and hikes in the area. The walks and hikes around Competa are a real treat - spectacular vistas with near perfect silence.

Husband I spent 2 x nights in this beautiful hotel in June 25. Maurice is a true gentleman and could not have been more accommodating. Breakfast was amazing which was freshly prepared by the lovely Maurice. Hotel is set right overlooking the main square so very close to the Restaurants. Competa is a beautiful town and would highly recommend a stay in Competa and this beautiful hotel. Thanks again Maurice. Joanne and Michael x

I can not even make this venue a high enough score spectacular brilliant amazing are a few words. This was my first trip to Competa and Almijara but it certainly won't be my last. Maurice and Paul are most definitely the most welcoming hosts and breakfast would not be out of place at the Ritz in London.|Do not miss this this amazing gem.

A very welcoming stay with generous and helpful hosts. Maurice had great food and drink recommendations, helped pick some hikes, made us feel very welcome and even helped us organise the transport to/from a winery. Definitely recommend staying here.
