3 night stay and loved it. Very quirky but gorgeous. Lovely open fire in the main sitting room which had just been lit as we arrived. Stayed in West Granary which is a huge room with loads of space. Breakfast was good, and the shop at the back of the breakfast room has some gorgeous and interesting things for sale. Plenty of parking, and although right on the A1 wasn’t noisy at all - the most noise coming from the cockerels are 06.00 in the morning 🤣

Really good Campervan stopover place right off the A1. Very quirky place with a lovely owner who was very helpful. Plenty of elbow room and elec hook-up if required.|Had loads of hens running around which made my wife feel at home. Unfortunately we parked close to the tree's where they rousted so were awoke by the cockerels at around 6am. No bar so take wine etc.

Wonderful place. Myself, partner and 8 year old son stayed here for 5 nights. Lots of things close by to do and see. Nice warm cosy room. Wonderful breakfast and the owners and staff are super friendly and incredibly helpful. Will defiantly be staying here again when in the area and would highly recommend to others.

Very ‘quirky’ accommodation conveniently located off the A1 near Alnwick. Comfortable, spacious ground floor room. Breakfast choice was excellent, with very good service. The table arrangement encourages conversation with fellow visitors. The Lodge is very close to Alnwick itself and within easy reach of the Northumbrian coast.

Our accommodation was the calf pen. It was cramped, over heated and lacking in facilities. No natural ventilation. Windows don’t open. No privacy in the room. Couldn’t have door open for air as it’s on a small corridor where other guests pass. Couldn’t have curtains open as people could see Straight into our bed. |No caution warnings in bathroom near excessively hot copper pipes. Dangerous health & safety issue. .|The room had lots of cobwebs. Dirt and mould near glass windows Towels were rough and had holes. Would be better used as sandpaper ! Carpets dirty. ||There was no gluten free cooked breakfast or toast which i requested at booking. Communal dining around large tables was dismal on our first morning and like a free for all. ||You may advertise as quirky but you lack basic cleanliness and standards. All in all would never stay again. We left without eating breakfast the second morning as the intense heat affected my fiancée asthma badly and we could not wait to leave

Myself and my family stayed here for two nights while visiting family , cannot fault anything about this place.|Upon arrival we met the owners and we were greeted warmly before checking in and being shown to our room which very clean , with a fantastic feel to it.|Breakfast was so tasty , it really set us up for the day , the staff we met were helpful , polite and very professional. The courtyard has seating and is full of character with statues etc.|Really cannot say a bad word as we are already talking about visiting our mothers again next year and staying longer , this establishment is where we are going to stay , |Thank you to all staff and owners for really pleasurable stay back home for me ( I am a local born and bred in the area )

Stayed here for two nights in August. Was allocated the calf pen room which on first entering seemed ok. However after a very short time we were contemplating checking out and finding somewhere else. The main issue for use was the lack of privacy. The room is down a short corridor from the courtyard but you can actually see into the room from the outside as the wall is glass and therefore had to leave the curtains closed the whole time. The room wasn't particularly clean and there was a lot of mould from damp on the ceiling. The bathroom wall was damp and mouldy and the radiator and door hinges rusty. Shower was far too steep for hubby to get into and the towels if you can call them that were very thin, worn and rough. Breakfast was a bit of a fiasco. Only a available 8-9am and on our first morning had to wait in the lounge as no room was available!!|All in all I would honestly say it's one of the worst places I've stayed and really don't understand all the rave reviews. I did email the hotel to give my views but didn't even have the courtesy to respond. Would never recommend to anyone.

The location is literally right on the A1, however you don't hear the traffic noise. The location is quirky and interesting. Very convenient for all the attractions near the Northumberland coast. Our big room did not have a shower so make sure you check. The breakfasts were great and the hosts were very welcoming. Not the place to stay for those wanting your average, bland, hotel room.
