Alnwick Youth Hostel

I was greeted by cheerful reception staff upon arrival and shown where to park my bicycle in a secure state-of-the-art bike shed. The place was very clean and the breakfast (just £6 for continental) was delicious and plentiful. The croissant was just perfect!

Simple but very nice hostel, with friendly helpful staff. The hostel was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and dining area were really nice. Great location. I especially appreciated the bicycle storage!

Former prison, former police station, a very simple and reasonably priced accommodation that would need a general modernisation in 2025 given the outdated infrastructure. Very good continental breakfast with fresh fruit and plenty of choice in a room with large windows overlooking the inner courtyard. The wire mesh squeaks with every movement and did not allow us to rest well. The mattresses are thin and uncomfortable. The windows are not insulated and cannot be opened. The games room is pleasant, the piano needs tuning and the table tennis bats need repair. Staff often absent, check in and check out alone. For a maximum of one night it is OK.

A brilliant new years eve stay, close to the centre 20 mins from the sea in the car, we was going to go swimming at midnight a tradition over there, but we bottled it as it was raining, a definite nice are and hostel to stay, nice friendly pub x great names for pale ale etc x Iwe would definitely go back, lots of walking and sight seeing, summertime for us next time. Loved it xx

Love Alnwick YHA and they are a great bunch of hardworking, considerate people. Excellent facilities and overall top notch. One star lost for Rooms because dorms do not have bedside phone chargers. Female dorm four plug sockets for six beds. ||Kitchen for self catering is excellent, my stay marred by food thief who took ALL my properly labelled bag of food and drink I left in the kitchen and went back for. That was a shock! Warning signs would help. Doesn't deter me from returning. Love the Hostel. Value for money and excellent.

Centrally located with friendly staff and lovely facilities. Alnwick is a good town to stock up with things, many interesting things to check out, the Castle and gardens and Barter books to mention two. Nice pubs with good food and varied selections.

Room (private en-suite for 4) got a bit stuffy but the vibe, location and staff were faultless. Wonderful location within easy walk of the town centre, castle, gardens and playground. Especially enjoyed the pool table, the table tennis and lounge. Good self-serve kitchen, great little on site cafe too.

Our friend hired the hostel for a weekend and we were privileged to be invited to join their house party. The venue was clean , comfortable and warm. We had an ensuite room with 2 bunk beds, with plump pillows and clean linen !|Plenty of space for guests to relax, enjoy a game of pool, etc. Lovely courtyard too. |Kitchen was clean , spacious and had a variety of pots, pans crockery and utensils to conjure up a delicious meal / hearty breakfast. ||Close to other attractions such as Alnmouth beach, Alnwick gardens and Banter Books ! |
