Alobar1000 Hostel

I had a wonderful time at the Aloobar 1000 Hostel, which is conveniently located in the heart of Thamel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and helpful, and the place was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable, and the dormitory room was spacious, quiet, and even had a balcony. The toilets were kept clean. The restaurant served very good, reasonably priced food, including authentic Nepalese cuisine. A special thanks to the receptionist, Ajay (AJ), who went out of his way to help with recommendations and my luggage, and personally saw me off to the taxi on my last day. Overall, a memorable stay and highly recommended.

Located at the end of a broadish alleyway at the outskirt of the Thamel district this hostel gives you a place to unwind in peace after a long day. The staff - especially Sunena - helped welcome me with open arms. I was able to check-in earlier and they helped me with all my questions. The hostel was very quiet and peaceful during my stay (3 nights) with barely anyone staying there. Apparently due to everyone immediately going trekking. A tip: Definitely the chili momo's and the Tibetan breakfast in the restaurant/picnic area downstairs.

A little quiet in early December but well located for Thamel and Monkey temple and Bus station without being too noisy or hectic (down a side street which helps). Smiley helpful staff. Lots of facilities and games. Only 2 of us in a dorm for 6 so slept well. Plentiful loos and showers and kept clean and functional. Good breakfast included in price so felt like really good value for money.

Had a really nice stay here and met some amazing solo travelers from different countries. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The staff were super helpful, especially AJ, who helped me get around Kathmandu and shared some great local travel tips. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling solo.

I had a great stay at this hostel. Everything is very clean, and the rooms are excellent (spacious, comfortable, and well maintained). The reception team is extremely kind, always helpful, and available whenever you need anything (Thanks AJ). It’s also a perfect place for organizing and transportation for the treks. Highly recommended!

Fantastic hostel on the ourskirts of Thamel. Located snuggly at the end of a quiet alleyway, is your place to have a good time and a great stay. Staff is super friendly and helpful (AJ is the mvp), food is good and the pool is nice and refreshing. Price quality great, absolutely recommend going here!

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. It has homey vibes and the room and sanitary were clean. I especially loved the hot shower, the room with balcony, and the fact that there is a pool. Though the water is cold, it's still good :) Thanks Sunena and other staff!

We received an excellent welcome from receptionist, AJ All the staff are really lovely and attentive to your every need. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms and rooms are very clean. Rooms are cleaned every day. We spent four days here and really enjoyed our stay. I recommend this establishment
