Where to Stay in Boston When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"I found Aloft to have an arty, funky vibe with pet-friendly policies, an on-site bar, a lounge with billiards, stylish rooms with plenty of natural light, comfy beds and a coffee/tea maker, plus a fitness center, indoor pool, and two restaurants." - Matthew Kepnes

My husband and I enjoyed our room overall. We didn't smell or see any mold as other reviews did. The bed was comfortable. The window blinds do a good job of blocking the light so we could sleep. The location was perfect for us. Unfortunately, the air conditioning is quite loud as others say. It's also programmed to turn on once it gets really hot, so the room gets super hot, then super cold, back and forth and we found it very difficult to sleep. Another problem is that when we checked in for our one night, we were told that we had a $15 voucher for the bar or for breakfast to help with the cost of the $25 destination fee. Unfortunately, that was a lie. I planned to use my voucher for breakfast, but it turns out that it must be used that same day. It does say this in small print at the bottom of the voucher, but we were specifically told we could use it for breakfast, so I didn't realize I needed to read all the small print. I waited a while at the front desk check-in line to order my breakfast and then was told I had to use it the day before (breakfast ends at 11am and check in is at 3pm so that honestly doesn't make sense). I was really disappointed. Why would they even create that policy? I looked it up- it's not a Boston tax- it's totally the hotel. While we're at it, the soap was empty in the shower, the shower drain was stopped up so we showered in a pool, there are no signs for the ice machine, which is only on the third floor, and the latte machine only gave out hot milk (no espresso). If it wasn't for the lie when I checked in, I would have overlooked all these things. I don't even mind the $25 destination fee since I already knew about it. It was the lie and the disappointment. Id rather them just charge the $25 with no perks than to promise something and then be disappointed. Update: The hotel saw the review I left on their platform and made it right. Well done, Marriott.

Massachusetts is always cold! I don’t mind it when the people make it out to be everything thoug. On occasion I’ll go to other hotels, but I love to stay at Aloft. I always meet a new individual who makes my stay worth the value. ||I never fail to leave a good review when due. The Christmas atmosphere was phenomenal here, and Benita & Miguel made amenities clear. Providing a great deal of knowledge for the area & city.

Google
Great location with easy access to Boston Logan and the convention center. The room had large windows, was clean, and the staff were helpful. That said, the stay had several drawbacks. The biggest issue was the “Destination Fee” of almost $30 per night. It was written in very small print and wasn’t clear during booking on Marriott.com. They give you $15/day in property credit, which I used at the lobby store, but it still feels like a surprise charge that should be included in the upfront price. The AC/heater was loud and felt like a budget-hotel unit, not something you expect from a 4-star property. Noise insulation was also weak. I was in a corner room and could still hear hallway noise, doors opening and closing, and knocking throughout the stay. The overall construction of the room felt cheaper than expected. Good location and friendly staff, but the hidden fee, noise issues, and loud AC/heater held the stay back.

Google
Room was clean and sufficed for the night. Hotel did not have any parking available when I arrived and when I asked for other options or recommendations they said “I don’t know you can always try and find parking in the street”. Ultimately I ended up parking my car at the Omni garage. When checking in to my room I was also hit with a 25$ destination fee which then immediately justified by the $15 voucher you get to the snack bar. I tried to use this but there was no one there to check out with so I gave up. Honestly it was fine, everyone was nice but it was lackluster in comparison to the nearby Westin and Hyatt in Seaport.

Google
Hotel was modern and very clean. The service was good. The price for parking was $54 a night. They don't tell you that if you don't use the valet until after 8:00 pm it is free. We got there at 3, checked in and paid for valet and then didn't return until after 10pm. They did remove the valet charge w/o any issues. There is a $25 resort fee, but they give you back $15 in credit but it had to be used that day.

Google
Wow we are glad we stayed here! Location: basically a $10-$13 car ride/lyft/uber from many, “touristy” things (i.e aquarium, Quincy, museums, duck tours). Highly recommend the Museum of Illusions. You can also walk many places in 15 minutes. Rooms: great with very smart layouts to maximize living quarters and bathrooms. Service: Awesome! I include the lobby in this which is filled with a billiards table, shuffle board and foosball table, bar, quick shop, lounge. The staff is VERY friendly and accommodating. There is a woman named Chantá who works there and is so incredible. I would come back to this one hotel just to hope to catch up with her…seriously she’s that charismatic.

Google
Comfortable hotel room, well situated in Seaport district, 10 mins walk to lots of nice restaurants and bars at the waterfront. Reception desk provided excellent service when check in and accommodated request for a room change readily and in friendly manner. Room is good size with a bit of novel orientation, bathroom being separated away with a privacy wall between bathroom and bedroom, making it a bit more private and seemingly spacious.

Google
I've stayed at this hotel a bunch of times for work and it's clean, efficient, easy to get to. Mostly though, the staff is very friendly. This time around, my son stayed over to attend a Celtics game for his birthday and the staff went out of their way to make him feel special with a sweet treat and beverages. A big Thank You to Monique at the front desk, along with her colleagues, who went above and beyond that evening.

Yelp
Great hotel! Room Is beautiful. The ambiance is soo fun. The check in staff and valet were excellent. I'd come back here in a minute. And the view on the 11th floor is perfect!

Yelp
I had a layover at the Aloft Boston Seaport. It's a super quick 10-minute ride from the airport. I like the secure elevators that only take you to your floor, so it never feels crowded. There's a lively bar scene downstairs in the evenings if you want to grab a drink before heading up. There doesnt seem to be a restauratn for Breakfast though - it was a simple chalkboard-style menu at reception that you order from and take back to your room. Rooms are a decent size with double windows, but fair warning: because the building curves, some rooms sit at an angle to each other... so if you're changing, close those curtains unless you want to accidentally put on a show. Ask me how I know -- I unwittingly became a voyeur. ‍

Yelp
I would only recommend staying here if you need fast access to the convention center since it's right across the street with access to a main entrance. I've stayed here twice with a co-worker for a work meeting and the rooms are a bit small and tend to get hot due to the mid-day sun, there's a fridge but I don't think they have a microwave and the air conditioner / heater is a bit noisy. Definitely adore the complimentary morning coffee and larger bar/seating area, elevators are fancier touch-less
google avatar

Yelp
Aloft in general is hit or miss. This is one of the better ones that I've stayed at. The lobby is nice; the rooms are ok. Air conditioner is really noisy and the style feels very "college dorm". It's fine for a shorter stay, but not sure I'd choose this property again for more than one or two nights. Also, it's in the seaport district but still a bit of a walk from all of the bars/restaurants/shopping at the seaport section.

Yelp
If you've ever read any of my reviews, you know that I love aloft hotels so this one was no different. The Aloft Hotel in the Boston Seaport District has everything you need. There's an onsite restaurant, and a full bar. There are activities, such as an indoor heated pool, state of the art gym, and games such as Connect Four & Uno. You also have access to a self service area for snacks such as cookies, cakes, donuts, breakfast food, and any alcohol you can dream of. During my stay, I ordered food from the bar, which is open until 11pm during the week. I had fall off the bone ribs, and a tasty chicken quesadilla. While they don't have microwaves in the rooms, the one in the lobby is perfect for heating up items. The rooms are beautifully furnished, with ample closet space, lots of working space in the bedroom (2 desks), a giant shower, and comfy beds! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Having stayed at several Alofts across the country, I like the cool funky vibe of the place. I stayed at this property as it was the site of a conference I was attending. I was warmly greeted at check-in and recognized for my Bonvoy Titanium status. I received two $20 breakfast vouchers to use at the restaurant. My room on the 13th floor faced south was sun-filled. The room was spacious with a king-size bed and a great shower. I love the contemporary design of the hotel and my room. If I had any disappointments, I wished there was more lighting in the room, the wi-fi signal was stronger and the AC unit was quieter. There are tons of great restaurant options, many in walking distance, with others only a 10-minute Uber away. It's right next to the convention center. It's a great lower-priced lodging option. Check it out!

Yelp
I found aloft Boston to be tremendously welcoming after a cold and rainy journey. I arrived via rental car thanks to my own crappy car ceasing to operate immediately before my short work trip. Valet and concierge were both helpful and supportive. The room was small and well appointed. I had a lovely shower and will plan on returning again. I wish I tried the Brazilian restaurant located in house. Maybe next time!

Nicole S.

Yelp
REVIEW YOUR BILL! They sneak in a $3 DAILY fee, preemptively & supposedly for an "employee relief" fund (in the event of an emergency). Absolutely ridiculous and sneaky! It is unnecessary & deceptive. They will remove the surprise charge but you must insist.

Yelp
We stayed at Aloft Seaport in December of 2023 because we were visiting the Seaport Holiday Market. This hotel was walking distance to the market. Our room was spacious and clean. The lobby had a bar and different games to entertain. We loved the photo opportunity in the lobby as well. A perk was the free coffee machine in the lobby, to warm up while we walked to the market. This hotel has a fun atmosphere and vibe!

Yelp
Good location if you're going to the convention center or the seaport district, although the latter is a bit of a walk. So is the convention center if you're convention is closer to the rear door as the Aloft is on the rear side. To get to the door of the convention center was about a block or so (with jaywalking), but once inside, we had to weave around to get to our convention. Outside of the hotel, there's an outdoor entertainment area which can get kind of noisy. It's between the convention center and the hotel. There were also some restaurants in the hotel (Brazilian Steakhouse) and kind of close (maybe a Dunkin' and a sub shop), but most of the "good" restaurants are a bit of a walk. The room layout was a bit odd and they were set up for charging lots of devices. However, the hallways seemed to accumulate trash. When did people think that just putting trash outside in the hall is normal? Animals! Some strategically placed trash cans would help with this. I'd stay here again if I was going to the convention center, but as a tourist, I'd probably go somewhere else.

Julie B.

Yelp
Just checked in - it's immediately a pretty cheap vibe and there was the tiniest bit of poop at the bottom of my toilet upon arrival. Guess it'll have to do for a night!
google avatar

Kristy R.

Yelp
The hotel itself is 4 stars. Spacious lobby area with plenty of seating and workspaces, alongside a lovely bar. Upstairs is an event space that we did not check out. They also have a Brazilian steakhouse in the lobby which we did not get to try but smelled great and always had a crowd. The rooms are the typical Aloft-style room. On the smaller side but the bed makes up for it. We had a corner room which would've been great except one side faced residential balconies, and another faced a truck depot. We were barely in the room so it was fine but we did keep the shades facing the balconies down. The inner handle of our bathroom door had been practically ripped off so I chatted on the app and they sent someone up to fix it in 2 minutes. It was great they were so receptive and thanked me over and over for reporting it. Staff is friendly from the concierge to the bartender. Plenty of snacks and drinks (including alcohol!) for sale in the lobby area. You will need these as I get to my final point... This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It's a good 15 minute walk to the actual seaport. Besides the Brazilian steakhouse and on-site breakfast, there is only a Dunkin and a Jimmy John's nearby. Everywhere else is at least a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. Valet and Lyft can both be expensive but necessary if staying here. We don't mind walking but if you're trying to get back from the heart of Boston you will require transportation since the T also does not stop in this area. I would stay here again but plan in advance.

Yelp
Well kept and appointed. Only ask I have is an entrance closer to the seaport where we are all walking from. The late night bar was much appreciated and your connected restaurant is amazing. I highly recommend the lamb chops.

Yelp
First time at Aloft and it was top notch. We had a room booked while in town for a volleyball festival at the convention center. The location was perfect with the back entrance to the venue about ten yards away from the hotel. This place was jamming all weekend and the staff was polite, professional and prompt. In terms of service, this is probably my best Marriot experience ever of over a hundred stays. They serve food in the open lobby area street 5pm but they have a fully stocked grab and go that has just about anything you could want from meals to snacks. The salads, sandwiches and açaí bowls were fresh and tasty. The free espresso machine was also a great add. We opted to valet and it was pricey. About $54 a night but there are no overnight options (I don't think) with onstreet spots reserved overnight for residents in the area. The location is a little bit of a walk to the seaport but no more than 15 minutes. Besides a Dunkin and Jimmy John's there's limited dining options aside from the upscale steak house. The in house food after five is doable. The room was nicely appointed. Somewhat squishy beds but didn't interfere with my sleep. Knocked off a star because the heating was either super hot or off. There's an open lawn area across the way that holds events in the warm weather so I expect that could get noisy (there was a sign posted saying you could request ear plugs). Even with the spotty heat situation, I'd rebook this place in a heartbeat. Family friendly with a small pool that was actually open.

Yelp
All in this is not a bad hotel. First thing I will say is that the staff was amazing, literally every single person we encountered was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were in town for a volleyball tournament so the whole hotel was completely booked and it seemed that it was all volleyball players and the staff handled the crowd exceptionally well. The location is perfect if you have an event at the convention center. The issue we had was that we were in room 830 and that room has 2 exposed pipes that run along the ceiling directly above one of the beds. Those pipes made a very loud noise for the entirety of our stay, especially throughout the night while we were trying to sleep. We notified the front desk the first night and were told they would send maintenance up. We never heard from anyone if maintenance ever came so we mentioned it again and were told maintenance would come up, again nothing happened so the next day I recorded the sound on my phone and when maintenance finally arrived the following morning I played the video for the worker and he said that there was definitely something wrong and that the noise is not normal and said he would see what could be done. We never heard anything from anyone at the hotel. We know the hotel was completely booked so we knew that there was no way we were going to be able to be moved to another room. We also knew that the hotel staff was extremely busy with the hotel being fully booked however, the fact that no one followed up with us or even tried to fix the issue was very disappointing. We had the worst sleep of our lives. I attached the video of the sound we heard for the entirety of our stay. We will be back in October and will undoubtedly be staying somewhere else.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
Stay anywhere else but here. All of the reviews about the air conditioning are 100% true. It's loud and freezing when on, and when off the room is very warm. There is no nice medium. Here's the best part! 1:15am we are dead asleep and get a knock on our door, its security. "You have a car at the valet but never checked in". Ummmm how was I inside the room then? I checked in at 7:30, had multiple conversations with the front desk. Went to dinner and walked by the front desk again around 10pm. There was NO courtesy call to the room before sending security. In the morning I spoke to the manager, Nicole. She informed me it was a new front desk agent and she didn't save while checking us in. I hope she implements my suggestion moving forward for new hires.... We shall see! STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

Yelp
Live music in the lobby on Saturday night. Great location with Lawn On D across the street. Great fun for families who enjoy pickle ball, lawn chess, checkers, connect four with a bar. Rooms are what you expect from Aloft. Nothing different. Free coffee, hot chocolate and lattes from the machine in the lobby was nice. Gym is okay. Free weights, treadmills and ellipticals always available. Foosball and fmpool table in the lobby.

Brian L.

Yelp
The hotel could improve by getting rid of the bed bugs. I was bitten several places, which I told the hotel after my stay, and unsurprisingly nobody reached out to me. Bad experience. Will never go back.
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
Decent hotel in the Seaport District of Boston. The room is pretty average but the views are nice. There seems to be a lot nearby within walking distance if you are visiting the area. As far as the amenities they seem to have quite a bit to offer. There is a breakfast counter served a la carte, a bar which serves drinks and fried finger foods to snack on, and then a high end Brazilian steakhouse! The staff were very nice and friendly during check in. The room is clean with no stains or dirty marks anywhere on the bedding or mattress. Bathroom is also spotless. Overall I'd recommend this place if you're in the area for a visit.
google avatar

Victoria G.

Yelp
It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We arrived a little early and expected to wait in the lobby. On arrival at 11:30 am, I was told our room was ready which was fantastic. The staff were helpful and friendly. I had something printed, too. The room was generous and had a great view of the lawn on D which we stopped by later. I would recommend to anyone staying in the Boston seaport neighborhood.
google avatar

Jazzimen M.

Yelp
Fraudulently charged my card after the front desk employee said I could extend my stay with points. I have NEVER had a worse Marriott experience. They blatantly lied and then claimed there was nothing they could do to remedy - even though their employee caused the issue. DO NOT STAY HERE. You'll pay more at Omni but they are crooks!! Will be reporting them.
google avatar

Dara W.

Yelp
Decent place in a great location (Seaport) that is really up and coming. Walking distance to many places too. Staff are very welcoming. The elevators are fast and work great. Nice bar area and lobby seating plus a pool table. There's a small area to purchase snacks and order some hot foods during specific hours. There is also a Brazilian steakhouse inside too. The rooms are decent size, but if you're staying for more than 4 days you might want more space for clothes. Two small drawers for clothes and a very small area to hang clothes. So if there's two people in the room, well, space is limited. Good for a weekend getaway in terms of clothing space. We'd come again for a short stay.
google avatar

Robb R.

Yelp
I like this Aloft it is basically like most other Alofts, with the loft feel, sort of industrial but still comfortable. I find their beds to be comfortable and the room was well equipped. We got a corner "suite" overlooking the Lawn on D and the Boston skyline. Windows on two sides let us see all the way to the ocean. Tons of bright light too. I said "suite" because that's how it was offered, but it did not have two rooms as a suite should have, and like all Alofts there is really no where to sit other than the desk chair, the bed, or the hard bench with a thin pad on top. The staff was friendly. Check in was quick. The bar area was comfortable. The location is good if you are at the convention center (not directly connected) or want to explain the fast growing Seaport district. Overall a very nice stay.
google avatar

Gordon G.

Yelp
We have stayed at Aloft twice and both times it was a very positive experience. The location is great, easy to get into downtown Boston quickly, easy to walk anywhere in the Seaport, the Convention Center is right there. We like the swimming pool, especially because both times we stayed nobody was there, I'm not sure people know it's there. My son and I swam on our own for over an hour, very fun. There is live music in the lobby and a pool table, again, my son and I had fun. We will stay here again as the price is reasonable, the rooms are clean and there a decent pool.

Yelp
We were lucky to have access to early check in and it was awesome! Our view was of the city and omg what a view! The kids were going crazy playing tag and arguing over squishmallows, but I was in scenic heaven!! I watched the sun go down. The kids saw the "purple pink sky" from their beds and watched the lights of Boston start to turn on. After the kids went to bed, hubby snuck down to the bar/ Brazilian steakhouse and said he had a great time watching football with patrons and the staff. The food smelled amazing but we had just filled up on fresh seafood :) I sat on the bed watching the lights and enjoying the skyline. The staff was very courteous. The hotel was clean and Sanitized well. Masks mandates were being enforced. Best was our pups joined the party and she was welcomed! Oh! I read they have events and live music and outdoor games in their front yard during summers. We'd love to experience that and will be back! The view.
google avatar

Jon G.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Certainly not anywhere in this hotel where there is a working heater. The lobby was cold. Our room on the 13th floor was cold. Our second room on the 7th floor was cold. If you're looking to be in the heat , this is not a good hotel motel ALOFT Inn. The heater in the rooms and lobby were not working. When turned on, sounded like a JET ENGINE taking off at Logan Airport, only to blow out cold air. Perhaps this is more of a summer hotel destination. Additionally, a car horn went off on the hour, every hour, for 37 minutes straight. I can confirm, the windows are thin. Which brought us back to sleeping next to a cold-blowing Jet Engine instead of the car horn sound. God Bless. The location is good and the staff were friendly - hence the 3 stars. Amenities in the room require an investment in the Maintenance Dept.

Yelp
This was my first time at Aloft Seaport and I thought it was fine. Check-in was easy and I was impressed by the large selection of snacks one could buy. It was almost like a minimart which had icecream, chips, protein bars, fruit, microwaveable food items. There's also a nice bar and restaurant attached to the hotel. My room was spacious and because they ran out of rooms with king sized beds, I was upgraded to a room with a lovely view. I loved the blackout shades. Like many hip new hotels, I would say Aloft captured that same vibe. Minimally decorated rooms with a nice shower and comfortable beds. And that's all I really need. I would come back. It was very conveniently located to South Station. Pricey but it's Boston during high season.

Scot S.

Yelp
Stayed here twice now. Once before we left on our cruise and again when we returned. The people at the front desk were great. Very helpful, took care of our luggage and made sure we were comfortable. Very modern looking. Rooms are spacious. The lobby is large with food and drink amenities. If I ever return to Boston, I would consider staying here again.

Yelp
Aloft is a beautiful, techie and artsy hotel located in Boston's Seaport district. Considering we took the bus into Boston from NYC; Aloft was a 10 minute cab ride from South Station - one of Boston's main bus and train hub. Also, there is a ferry that runs from Boston's airport to the Seaport district and Aloft is about 8 minutes walking distance from the Harbour. That's very convenient! Aloft is about a 12 minute cab ride from downtown Boston if traffic isn't insane. The hotel's lobby was stunning and welcoming. They have some of the most creative and mesmerizing paintings displayed in the lobby. Very colorful! They also have two bars and a restaurant. In case you are just looking to rest for a bit until your next adventure then take advantage of their lounging area and definitely play a tune on their pink user friendly guitar. My room was clean and techie with a touch of colorful artwork. My favorite was their bed. It was so relaxing and comfortable. I didn't want to get up the next morning. The shower head was powerful and felt as though I was experiencing a massage in the shower. In case you are wondering there's a lot of drawer and closet space. They also had a nice coffee maker. If you walk about 8 minutes towards the Harbour; there you'll find a few amazing restaurants and bars. I'd recommend going to Legal Harbourside. Overall great experience and I enjoy my stay at Aloft. I appreciate the white glove customer services.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised. Nice accommodations. Location off the beaten path but walking distance to the Seaport, Broadway strip in southie, and longer walk, or short uber ride, to the North End and Fanueal Hall. Hotel has a huge, wide open lobby, with a pool table, bar, and several seating areas. Rooms are small with a functional layout. Very comfortable. We had a little trouble adjusting the air and fan, but it ended up being fine. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Room and bathroom clean and uncluttered. We will be back!

Yelp
Great location, big clean rooms, and awesome steak house in lobby. The pool was out of order but it was October so not a big deal I didn't get to swim.
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
Was in the city for one night recently and the Aloft seaport had reasonably priced rooms available. The area it is in is so built up with new developments, hotels & restaurants. It's an easy Uber ride or walk to downtown and the train station. The rooms are clean, spacious and I love that you can just walk in and out as you please as if you lived there. The staff leaves you alone but is there when needed. Overall a great stay.
google avatar

Larry J.

Yelp
Looks great from the outside, but it's clearly an older establishment that's had a facelift. Rooms are very basic, very little lighting. Internally mounted air conditioning unit that is very loud. Hot water takes way too long to warm up. If you are going to the convention center, it's a great location. It's not terrible, just basic with a few minor annoyances.
google avatar

Sim B.

Yelp
Great perk is the Brazilian restaurant that's downstairs. Due to covid, a lot of attractions in the area were closed but at the same time, it's a bit separate from a lot of good restaurants/convenience stores in Seaport. Complaints would be that my ceiling seemed unfinished - you can see the panels that were screwed in pretty clearly and the water would not heat up when attempting to shower at night. Tried again in the morning, and it got hotter (though it took a bit of time).
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
Great accommodations, excellent turn down, hopping atmosphere. The only downside is parking. Manny is the best and will take care of you!
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
We only stayed one night, but had a great experience! Manny at the front desk was so kind and helpful. If we need a stay in the Seaport again, we'll definitely be visiting Aloft.

Daniel D.

Yelp
The valet is excellent. It's fun talking to them waiting for a car. They deserve a raise.

Will E.

Yelp
This place is the least friendly or reasonable hotel I have ever stayed. As a Bonvoy member I stay at a lot of their hotels. Most are very good this one is not. I as many people over the last month. Had travel issues and was delayed in my travel and called the hotel to explain I was unable to get in for my reservation. They said due to my prep paid rate there was nothing I could do the manager also accused me of lying about my travel issues! Who books a room and just pays not to use it. I certainly did while I understand the no cancelation policy you could at least be courteous about it not rude. Place is a total rip off.

Yelp
Urine Soaked Mattress We stayed on July 11 and had two rooms booked. While we experienced a number of incidents of disappointing customer service prior to and during check in, nothing compared to the surprise awaiting us when we got into bed in room 1119. After about 20 minutes of lying in bed, we noticed our clothes were wet and the bed was wet. We stripped the bed to find the mattress soaked thru with urine. We called down to the front desk and had the mattress switched out and sheets changed, all of which took about an hour (this happened around 11:30pm, after a long day of travel to Boston from Los Angeles). While the staff who actually moved the mattress and remade the bed were very nice, compassionate and professional, we were dissatisfied with the level of seriousness the hotel front desk person (who was not a manager and the only person on duty) seemed to take. We repeatedly requested that a manager, and specifically the GM, be contacted by phone immediately given the health hazard this presented. So far, we have not heard from the GM. As you can imagine, this was the most horrid hospitality experience we have ever had at any property worldwide.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here, and we loved how close it was to everything! Super easy check in process, really clean, really friendly staff, and we appreciated that they sold snacks and drinks in the lobby at all hours. Short Uber ride away from anywhere you want to go in Boston!

Yelp
This is probably the coolest aLoft I've stayed at - mostly due to the Siri-based voice controlled rooms. Voice control - Even though I only turned on and off the lights and asked for restaurant recommendations near the hotel, the feature was cool enough to keep me entertained. Other stuff - Voice control aside, the room was clean, service was awesome (they checked me in at 7am, way earlier than the real check-in time), and the lobby was filled with a young-ish crowd every night. Great hotel to stay at when traveling for work!

Yelp
If you're looking for a hotel that is close to the airport, easy to get into downtown and around Boston - this is it. If you're looking for enough room to walk around the room and not trip over anyone - this is not it. The lobby of this hotel is GORGEOUS! Very modern. Very open. Nicely decorated for the holiday. Pool table. Nice bar. Overall very welcoming. The front desk was super friendly and welcoming. We had a room with two Queen beds. As soon as we entered the room, we encountered the beds. Okay maybe not as soon, but not many steps from the door. The room is SUPER COMPACT! Again everything. Is VERY nice but very compact. It took us two or three days to figure out the light situation. The sink was low which made it difficult for my six foot husband. Upon arrival we had to call down for washcloths. There were plenty of towels and hand towels but no washcloths. We had to call and request more again after they cleaned the room. Aloft, if you read this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use some type of softener on your towels. My goodness those things were stiff as hell!!!!!! My neighbors had quite an entertaining night one night. The walls were kind of thin because I heard all of the horrible jokes they made. It didn't help that it was after midnight. Oh the parking, you must walk around another hotel to get to the lot. It's probably not more than a 5 minute walk. But when it's cold and rainy, that's a LONG 5 minutes. Also, I learned the hard way, don't check out before taking your car out of the lot. The customer service thing at the gate was quick but it definitely was an unattended hassle. Would I stay here again? Not unless there was a suite option or something to make sure All three members of my family can walk around at the same time.

Yelp
Came by here for a social event after a day at the convention center across the street. The space is modern and gorgeous, and the staff took great care of us. We started out at the bar/restaurant before moving to the main event space. It was roomy and spacious which was great for mingling and relaxing.

Yelp
Can't believe this is a Marriott property! The room was just slightly larger then the bed! and the mattress was lumpy and you could hear the springs inside; certainly not a Marriott mattress; pillows were flat and useless; bathroom is essentially a small nook in the room, not a separate room; the closet didn't even have a door and only a 15 in rod from front-to-back, not side-to-side. They don't serve breakfast during the week, only on weekends - you could not even buy a breakfast! Marriott should either rehabilitate this property or dump it.

Yelp
Boston seaport area has become quite a place and aloft (Marriott) and element (Hilton) are tight in the mix of it. My only second and third aloft, so was a good change from the red and dull usual Courtyard decor. This property is located right next to lawn on D. First, this is a very pet friendly place (an extra star just for that). Pets stay for free. The bar and restaurant on the main lobby looked spacious but were out of commission due to a labor strike. Mechanical blinds (that worked), complimentary water, friendly checkin staff, good sized bathroom, and grab-n-go light breakfast are some features worth noticing. The only drawback I found was the low pressure shower on the 11th floor. Lower floors may very well good pressure but the water pressure on 11 floor was only borderline acceptable.

Yelp
I recently stayed here with my husband and 2 kids for 3 nights while vacationing in Boston. The outside looks nice, clean, and pretty modern. There's no parking here, you have to give the car to the valet. This is ok, but sometimes the valet would wear very heavy cologne and the car would wreak of that. Also, because it gets busy, the car takes a while to get to you. The elevator is also on a modern twist, you can't just push the up/down button and get in when it's open. You have to push in your room floor and only go in like that. When you get to the room, you will find only 2 very small drawers by the bathroom. It was quite small for close to $1000 for 3 nights. We originally wanted to stay at other Seaport hotels, but they were all booked. Anyway, there are no drawers at all where the beds are. Instead, there is a huge air conditioning unit that is pretty loud at night. So we all had to have all of our clothes out on top of the shelves. The bathroom is also very small and the glass shower door leaks. It is also very slippery in the shower and we had to ask for a bath mat. It was clean overall, but it's not a hotel we will stay at again. There's no free breakfast, and the wifi was extremely weak. Basic cable, and the phone in the room didn't work at all! I called reception on my cell phone, they said they were aware, but didn't fix it.

Yelp
I really liked this hotel. Got the room through a Hotwire hot rate. The good. It's located in the Seaport area right across from the convention center. It was a quick ride from the airport. The immediate area itself isn't exactly bustling (there is a Dunkin Donuts and wine/spirits store next door, there's also "The Lawn on D" across the street which is a popular park area) but it's a 10 minute walk to the Seaport main area with lots of restaurants and Harpoon Brewery. The closest T station we used was Broadway which was about a 15 minute walk. The hotel itself was very modern and clean. Staff seemed very friendly. We had a room on the 12th floor with an awesome view of the city. The beds were comfortable. Upon checkout, we were able to store our luggage at the front desk since our flight wasn't until later in the day. The not so good. The air conditioner in the room was weird. It was very loud when it came on and didn't really work very well. Our TV and remote weren't exactly in sync, the guide on the TV did not have show information. While we are close to the airport, the planes are pretty loud and take off right above the Seaport frequently (essentially on the minute in the morning). Might be a problem for a light sleeper. Overall, these are nitpicky things, I thought this place was great and would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I would've given 5 stars had the customer service been more friendly, but they were extremely rude on the 3 occasions that I had to deal with them. Just extremely nasty and rude for no reason. The third time I called ten minutes after checking out to tell the front desk that i think I left something in the room and she basically said "well if you don't get an email then we didn't find anything" which they could've at least courteously told me they would check. They also have "Botlr" which is supposed to answer requests (like bring me some toothpaste) and if texted fine but didn't actually work. Would've been cool if the advertised service worked, but I called the front desk and they had someone run me up toothpaste in no time. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The shower and bathroom was very nice and had Koehler appliances. The shower leaked into the bathroom area, but it didn't get in my way, just seemed a little cheap. Parking was relatively easy. I also liked the elevators that didn't have buttons inside-you entered your floor number before getting on which kept a smooth flow of guests.
