Aloft Chicago Downtown River North

Honestly, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in while visiting Chicago. The front desk was kind and welcoming. The rooms were clean and updated. The downstairs restaurant was decent. And it was affordable. Also close to everything. My only downside was on my last day, a vagrant entered the hotel lobby and the people at the front desk didn’t even notice. He started harassing people were sitting in the waiting area where the games were, which included teenagers. I think someone went to the front desk finally to say something cause someone came over the push him out but he shouldn’t have gotten in. I understand they are busy at the check in desk but they need to keep an eye on things. Thank god the teenagers were okay. He also started yelling other things at other people who wouldn’t give him money. Just soured things a bit especially for an overall amazing stay in which I felt very safe

Really enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Great venues, equipped room and spacious for a city room. Nice staff and relatively quiet for being center of the city. Great idea for visitors and close to train lines.

My stay at the Aloft Chicago Downtown exceeded all expectations. As a Marriott Silver Elite member, I was immediately upgraded to a higher-level floor upon arrival—a nice touch that set the tone for a great stay. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and enjoyable. Pros: • Convenient location: The hotel is just a 5-6 minute walk from the Red Line, making it easy to navigate the city. I was able to travel to and from the airport in under an hour, avoiding the headache of Chicago traffic. • Dining options: There’s no shortage of restaurants within walking distance, plus the bustling restaurant downstairs adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the hotel. • Exceptional staff: The team at Aloft went above and beyond with their friendliness and professionalism, making my stay truly seamless. Cons: None to report! I would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Chicago.

My daughter and I booked the Aloft for one night on the eve of the Chicago Marathon, as she needed to be at the starting corral by 0530! Our room was on the top (18th) floor; it was very comfortable and quiet, making it an ideal location. The reception staff was very courteous and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. They were even flexible in extending our checkout time to 2:00 pm on the marathon date. Was the room worth the $550.00 per night? Obviously, with the great demand for the marathon, it is understandable that hotel rates across the city were higher than usual. But it was an ideal location, close to many great restaurants and cafes, and I would not hesitate to stay there on a future visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights in November. Everything was “smooth”. It’s quiet most of the times and everything just works. Would have loved a better view at the room, but it was ok. The zone is pretty close to everything and there are cool restaurants all around. Definitely will come back.

I was super impressed. I had to travel home to Chicago for the holidays, and I had to bring my little dog too. I used to work in River north, so I knew the location was great. All hotel staff were friendly, prompt, and polite! They went out of their way to ensure the dog was happy by proving a dog bed, a dog bowl and matte and gave gigantic dog treat milkbones, and little plastic baggies. Wish they did a dry breakfast of like bagels and cereal or something, BUT they did have a tiny coffee maker so I made some tea. Might be my new go to place in between my travels!! Rooms were really nice, and they made a nice gesture with vouchers for their adjacent restaurant for my oldest daughter’s 18th birthday. However, when we were checking out, I was charged again, for the entire stay that I had already paid for. They reversed these charges, And they did what they could, but it could, of course, take a couple of business days for these changes to reflect. I feel like this is a mistake that could’ve been avoided, and they really need to pay more attention to their transactions. Not everyone has lots of money laying around for trips like these, and I worked hard to save for this trip.

What a great place to stay!!! Check in is so easy and upbeat with great service by Chloe and Mercedes. Thomas is always excellent! We stay here all the time when we are in Chicago and he remembers us from previous stays. We feel like family here. rooms are clean and the location is so perfect for all the restaurants we like to go to River north

We stayed at Aloft Downtown River North for two nights and had a great experience! Check-in was super easy and done online, so there was no hassle upon arrival. Our room was very clean, including the bathroom, and we had a nice view of the city from the ninth floor. The king-size bed was comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. While we didn't spend much time in the hotel itself (we were out exploring most of the time), it was a great place to come back to at the end of the day. The restaurant downstairs seemed really popular, though we didn't get a chance to try it. One of the biggest perks of this hotel is its convenient location. It's very close to the Red Line, making it easy to get around the city. If you're flying into Midway Airport, you can take the Orange Line and transfer to the Red Line, which will take you to hotel. If you're coming from O'Hare, you'll need to take the Blue Line and switch to the Red Line. Overall, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel in downtown Chicago, this is a solid choice!

Spent the night here for a downtown wedding. The room was immaculate For being downtown Chicago it was unusually quiet Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in Very pleased with our stay

Pleasant hotel in a great location with friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable, much noise from the street in the way of sirens and emergency vehicles, yet noise within the hotel is minimal. Top notch restaurant here - give Beatrix a try !

Unsafe! Avoid at all cost. Huge gap under the door - very easy for Someone to shove something under your door and unlock the inside of your door from the outside. I called downstairs and all doors are like this and there are zero plans to fix. All they could offer me was towel to shove under the door. Very unsafe!

If you plan on staying here prepare to have no sleep. It's located near a fire station and let me tell you the fire truck goes in and out of that station almost every hour on a weekend. It's insane. The ear plugs the hotel gives you doesn't help. Doesn't even matter if you're on the highest floor you can hear everything. Also our room had this weird smell and upon checking with the front desk it's because there's a sewer outside. Other than that, it's nice that this place is within walking distance of bars and restaurants, we were able to get checked in early, and I liked how there was a pool table in the lobby, but I think the cons far outweigh the pros. Sleep is very important and I would prioritize that especially after a long day of sightseeing and traveling on vacation. Don't stay here.

A very decent place to stay. Despite some unusual occurrences during my stay, the staff were helpful, friendly, and eager to right any wrongs. I arrived a little early and exhaustedly paid $25 for early check in. Valet was a little confusing on arrival as I wanted to park before checking in...but they need your room number to complete the parking process. Or they would PREFER to have that. They begrudgingly gave me a ticket for myself and for the front desk to retroactively apply my room number to my parking voucher. The valet is also shared with the next door Hyatt (I think) hotel so I am sure it can be a little confusing. I got to my room and was very pleased with the cleanliness and the space in general. Very welcoming and comfortable. I wasn't going to be staying terribly long, so I opted to decline housekeeping for the two mornings I was there, but the public areas remained clean and lovely. There was a disturbance on my first night, a couple rooms down (one which required calling the cops and EMS and hotel security and the night manager). It appeared to be handled as calmly and professionally as possible. It was offered to switch me to another room if I felt unsafe and my night was comped. The problem was handled and I only had one more night so I was fine staying in the same room (plus I worried about there being confusion getting my car out of overnight parking if I changed rooms...it was just simpler to stay in the room I was already in). I was on the 9th floor and was a little surprised by the street noises that still made it up and in through the windows. But it was tolerable, plus you've gotta expect some sound in a busy city and being in a popular area. The hotel has a nice business area, some comfortable looking lobby seating, a little market (for basic OTC medicines and snacks and what not). The on-site restaurant (Beatrix) was really nice. It gets REALLY busy on weekends, but I was a single traveler who went down at a weird mid/late-morning time, and who is totally cool sitting at the bar. I wish the bar part stayed open at little later, but it was great for breakfast and lunch. This location is super convenient to a lot of things without being to crazy close to the Magnificent Mile/denser downtown area. Close enough to walk to a lot of things (depending on what you might consider "walking distance" but I was there for 2 nights, 3 days and I walked every where I wanted to go to except for one Uber back to the hotel after the concert I was in town for). I would gladly stay here again. I might try and find cheaper street parking or another cheaper lot I could walk to, but overall I had a lovely stay here. Which is saying a lot, considering the incident that happened that the positives far outweigh the negatives.

We stayed just one night here to see a show in the city. Our room was clean and comfortable, but very small, and I thought I paid a premium for a view room however we were looking at the garbage. Speaking of payments, at booking and confirmation/online check in, I was told I was paying then and they still asked me to pay when I got to the hotel. Very confusing. More confusion about parking. It's a few blocks down and the hotel charged me more than the garage itself would've. I parked myself after reading their website and then they validated my parking and I didn't know the cost til after. I assume you're paying more for the perk of going in and out, but that wasn't something I needed so we could've skipped validating through the hotel. I get that location is everything for a hotel like this, but not sure Aloft was enough to justify it for me.

The hotel is nice and I generally love the Aloft brand. The front desk staff is friendly. The room had a mini fridge and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The location is perfect and I do love Beatrix being right there and that they have room service. The street noise was very loud though, constant honking. I know it is downtown, and I have stayed in many hotels downtown, some that have quieter rooms, so those will probably be a better fit for me. Residence Inn has guaranteed high floor rooms that are quiet, Moxy has interior corridor rooms, and the Acme always has quiet rooms that don't face the street on a high floor. An owner also left a dog alone in a room that was having a conniption. Either they eventually returned or the front desk took care of it, but it took a long time. Maybe a less pet-friendly hotel would also be better.

Loved this hotel. Why: Location: the location was phenomenal it was walking distance from the key places plenty to do in the area. They had a restaurant down in the lobby it was awesome. The restaurant had happy hour 3-6 which it worked great. Service: The service was good from them sending me an email prior to arriving because the elevators weren't working the had only one working. They accommodate their guests with options. They also let us checkout late it worked out perfectly because we didn't have to head to the airport until 1pm. I highly recommend this hotel/location.

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as stay before in other Aloft in the past, and this is located in the heart of downtown Chicago, but unfortunately, I did not have the same experience in this Marriot Bonvoy as I have had in the past, and this was not because of the people working on this hotel, because I need to say they did a great job in what was in their hands to make me feel welcome. I need to say this is the first Marriot Bonvoy that I don't have access to water or coffee having the Platinum status, also breakfast was included because of my status but the restaurant was not part of the hotel and was very limited and only 20 dollars was including but not including tip or taxes. Having the Platinum status should be able to give us Marriot members extra stuff with on this hotel I did not. This won't be my first pick for a hotel when returning to Chicago. I will recommend if you have the status looking to the others hotels in the area with do give this accommodation.

This hotel staff could improve on honesty and professionalism. If they tell you are able to check in by a certain time at the very latest, they are liars. Just because I was with a group of younger girls we were put last and treated in a disposable manner. We were told check in at 3 at the VERY latest. When we arrived back at 3 we were told that they don't know what time we would be able to check in. Not a single guess on a time nor a single room. After we had booked months ago and are members. Disrespectful and unprofessional.

Hotel was nice, fun and upbeat. The rooms were comfortable and just enough of what we needed. However, even being on the 17th floor the noise of the street was crazy loud. Definitely not a well insulated building. We stayed Friday through Sunday and I don't think there was a single day where all the elevators worked so it took at long time getting up and down since the elevator stopped at nearly every floor. Lastly, the restaurant downstairs looked great, I was always packed and you really couldn't get in without a reservation. I would probably stay somewhere else next time. There's too many Marriott properties to deal with 10 min elevator waits/rides.

Very bear bones, but a fun vibe and very close to a TON of great food, sites and (comparatively) reasonable parking options. Stayed here with my family for an evening in the city. It is clearly designed to cater to a younger crowd. Minimalist hip decor, with clean rooms and nice views. Rooms were a bit small, but they were fine for a short trip. The building is apparently split between multiple Marriott properties, but Aloft has a designated 24 hour gym and you access the Residence Inn gym as well. Was able to walk to the river and within walking distance to of attractions. Would stay here again.

What a great stay! From the bar inside to the fantastic front desk worker (I think his name was Jake) who helped me out with my reservation and local recommendations, I enjoyed my Chicago visit. Will definitely return to this lovely hotel and staff

This is a 3 star hotel I'm bumping up to 4 because of the value and great service. The location is honestly the best spot in downtown chicago -- close to bars, river and walkable to major attractions. I arrived on a Thursday morning and was able to check in almost 4 hours early due to the awesome staff at the front desk. They even bumped me up to a high floor as I needed to work and city street noise can be heard on the lower floors. The hotel has a modern, trendy vibe. It was clean and safe. They were offering housekeeping service daily unless you didn't want it. The staff was overall super friendly and provided great service. I stayed in a king bedroom and the layout and huge windows made it feel more spacious and welcoming. Some cons: the walls are super thin -- you can hear conversations, showers, opening/closing of blinds from the adjacent rooms. Halllway noise is also loud as I was right near the elevator. The bathroom is not very private, only a sliding door and may be uncomfortable if sharing the room with someone. Overall I'd stay here again if traveling solo and staying in town for a quick work trip.

3 elevators and 2 are broken and the third is barely working. This is ridiculous is an 18 story hotel, what if there was an emergency. We went to Hyatt Place and used their elevator to get to our room in Aloft. Room is fine and bed comfortable. Beatrice restaurant is very good for breakfast, delicious coffee and good ham and cheese croissants

Do not use expedia or any outside booking Treated like second class and told i used expedia so they didn't have to give the upgrade room i paid for extra told i didnt read the small print and i can have this one if i wanted or i can wait till something else may come available given a room not even finished ceiling wasn't painted chalk marks on it when check out they said sorry we are still working on some rooms here is you bill 1 1/2 hour wait to get my car in valet late for my meeting do not stay here rude and they do not care never changed filters in room dirty

It is downtown and close to everything. Nice quiet hotel. Check-in was quick. It has a restaurant so that is a plus.

Great location and close to so many restaurants. The corner view room we had was beautiful! It is the city so lots of city noise. Nice staff at all areas of the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a good location, near to many good restaurants. Parking available nearby. We had to park in a structure about 2 blocks away. The interior is modern and clean, the staff were friendly enough. We had a king bed, but probably would have gotten better sleep with two beds instead. It was spacious. Bed was comfortable too. I came with a friend who was here for a conference nearby.

Great location, you can't beat the short walk to the river or to Michigan ave. Lots of restaurants and bars in the close area. Beatrix right down stairs Maggiano's across the street, Rain forest cafe and hard rock just down the street. Starbucks and NYC bagel about a block away. Lobby and staff. Staff was always very polite and friendly everyday saying hello and goodbye and asking if we needed anything. Lobby is quite modern with aspects of vintage. Pool table and several sitting areas some 60s era rock pictures were a nice touch. The rooms were nice. 2 big windows. The room is very square with a wall separating the bath area from the bed area. I think it was a great use of space. I have seen other reviews that say that the bath lights were intrusive to the sleeping area but we did not notice this. Beds were very comfortable

I'm from Louisville and we also have an Aloft that I visit periodically for drinks. My co-workers wanted to get closer to downtown for the evening and picked this hotel. Finding the valet is a bit awkward as it looks like you're heading down a dark alley but the attendant was friendly and fast. Check in was quick. Three clerks at front, very casual and asked about our choice of rooms. They offered dinner selections and a map. At checkout another terrific group took care of us and watched our luggage while we walked to Starbucks. Aloft is in prime area of restaurants and bars, plus close to hitting expressways back home. However, the room was disappointing. It felt like a dorm room that was trying too hard to be cool. Thankfully the bed was comfortable and we only stayed one night. I also felt close to other rooms, hearing people close their shades or the vacuum running the floor above me, toilets flushing. The amenities like shampoo and body wash are in containers in the shower - I always wonder how long something has set in them and typically use my own stuff at that point. This won't be my first pick for a hotel when returning to Chicago.

It's really a shame for me to have to leave this review. This could have been a really good stay. This hotel does not have one of the most basic functions of a hotel, which is storing your luggage in the lobby after you check out or before you check in. So if there is a time window between your flight out (or in) or If you have a few hours before you check into your next hotel, you're stuck with your luggage. This is especially problematic because the Uber, Lyft and taxi situation in downtown Chicago is brutal. There are not enough drivers and it is expensive to go even 7 minutes away. Luggage storage is part of the absolute minimum requirements of a functioning hotel!

We stayed here for three nights during the Chicago marathon. Unloading and loading is a giant hassle. The street was blocked off and you have to pull your car near the pedestrian crosswalk then walk to the hotel to get a baggage cart. The interior of the hotel is nice, as are the rooms. It's in a good area with a lot of dining choices. What really bummed me out is when we were driving home we noticed they charged us for food we did not order. We called and they took off the charge but another Aloft we recently stayed in pulled the same stunt so this really irked me. We shall not return.

Oh my goodness! We had such a wonderful stay. Felt like a home away from home. The rooms are honestly not the best, but it's enough to fulfill it's purpose of comfort! The lobby has everything you need: Restaurant, Coffee, Food! It was honestly the best part because I could just walk down and get my coffee or grab a drink. I didn't get to try Beatrix but maybe next time. I'll definitely be checking in again because I had such a great experience! Also, at first I was worried about storing my luggage because I read a review on here saying they weren't doing that, but now it's returned! I was excited to hear that during my stay they brought back the storage rooms. So don't let that turn you away from this great hotel.

Let me start by saying that I didn't choose this hotel. We were in Chicago for a wedding, and this was the only Marriott brand hotel that the bridal party selected. I want to also make clear that the hotel staff (front desk and housekeeping) were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. (Not so much for the restaurant crew. Admittedly, we only stopped at the restaurant for a snack upon arrival as the weekend was pretty much filled with wedding events.) The unfortunate part of the experience was the hotel room. Probably the best part was that there were ample electrical outlets. Apparently hoteliers are catching on to the fact that 21st century travellers have a variety of portable devices that require charging. The room itself was pretty cramped. Sitting at the desk, it was nearly impossible to look at the television, and the only place to sit in the room was a desk chair that seemed like a $10 IKEA special. But the real problem with the room was the "facilities." The sink & "closet" area opened (as in no door) onto the entry door to the room. So there is no privacy while doing one's ablutions if someone knocks on the door. While the commode and shower are behind a door, there's only a single lightbulb in that room. As a result, the shower is dark and awkward. My biggest gripe with the room, by far, was the utter lack of storage for hanging clothes. Keep in mind, my wife and I were in Chicago in DECEMBER for a wedding. We each had winter coats and two sets of dress clothes (suits and long dresses). There was NO ACTUAL CLOSET. What the hotel has is a dinky rack like a clothing store that holds a few hangers (see picture). Further problem is that this compartment doesn't go all the way to the floor. So my overcoat and my wife's dresses were hanging out. (Sorry, I didn't think to take a picture of that.) All in all, I'm still a Marriott fan -- the best affinity program around, but I think I'll pass on this particular brand. And I suggest you do the same. Chicago is filled with fantastic hotels. Stick with one of those.

There is no shortage of hotel options in Chicago, so each property needs to do what they can to stand out --- and Aloft's service is their secret sauce. Whether the front staff, house keeping or the folks at the bar, this Aloft team was fantastic! Centrally located in the north end, this Aloft is close to several 4/5 star Italian restaurants. TIP: I have found this W XYZ Bar is be just a fun/lively as some of the local places in the area. If the weather is looking a bit off --- I recommend just heading downstairs and making an evening of it in the lobby.

We stayed over a weekend, and from the moment the reservation was made, til the moment we checked out, we were made to feel so welcome! Staff is OUTSTANDING! Very kind, extremely helpful, friendly...each and every one! The amenities are wonderful, place is so clean, and decor is beautiful. Perfect location for everything! We loved our time here, and would absolutely return!

The hotel location was nice and the hotel staff was nice as well. I didn't care too much for the room due to when I turned the heat on high to knock the chill off in the room, it made a humming sound. The room wasn't as updated to my liking. I have stayed in better aloft in other locations. It was an ideal room for a quick work trip. The bed was comfortable.

Worst experience ever. Staying for the weekend as our condo is renovated. Why keep your hotel operational at 100% with one working elevator. Why pay $260 a day to wait 15-30 minutes to go up or down. Such a joke of an establishment.

We were in the city for the weekend for a wedding and this hotel nailed it for us. Accommodated me with super early check in (11am) and the $25 fee for that was more than fair. rooms are small but standard for a downtown hotel and super clean! We were on floor 5 and Street traffic was super loud through 3am but it was the weekend. Weeknights might be quieter but just in case - request a room higher up if traffic noise might bug you. No hallway noise/slamming doors and other guests were also polite and chill. The restaurant looked hip and fun too but we didn't eat there. Did grab coffee and danish from the coffee stand Sunday morning and it was good too. Quick and easy. Would for sure stay again

This was my second stay at an Aloft Hotel (the first being in the brand new Detroit location). I really enjoy this chain and will more than likely go out of my way to stay at another one soon. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I had called prior to arrival and Ryan was very helpful and gave us a great room with a view! Check in and check out went very smooth and was quick and efficient. The elevators were awesome - yes I'm rating the elevators because we were on the 18th floor and never had to wait more than a minute, literally, for an elevator! The lobby was fun with lots of different areas to sit. Loved that they had a pool table although I didn't use it - too much shopping to do. The location is great in my opinion, as one of my goals was to visit at least one of the Rick Bayless restaurants which is just a block down the street. It's close to the subway line as well. Michigan Avenue was a short walk away. The area is completely safe and I felt very comfortable walking late at night with my girlfriend. I took the Amtrak and it was about a $10 cab ride. I would have walked it if the weather was warmer. Make this your home base on your next trip and enjoy!!

This was my first time at an Aloft. They definitely have a young, cool vibe going on, starting with the lounge area in the front that includes plenty of seating and a pool table. The check-in area is at a round counter, which reminded me of the Jetsons. The people at the front desk were always chipper and ready to help. (They seemed so young, though! Or, am I getting old?) We did request an extra desk chair more than once, which is ok, but I do wonder where that first request went. At the same time, they were very helpful in helping my husband get a sign printed and putting it in a place where I could not see it. Our room is small but totally fine for a couple of days. The bathroom and closet area reminded me of a business hotel in Japan, as there was not a true closet, and the sink area did not have a door. (Only the toilet and shower had a door.) For the Chicago Marathon, they put out some snacks and coffee early for the runners, which was a really nice touch. I would definitely consider staying here again. It's so close to the subway and in the middle of a thriving neighborhood.

This hotel room was super clean, I always bring Lysol wipes to clean everything and it was amazingly clean. The beds were comfortable and staff were all helpful and friendly. I will return, it's in a prime spot for food and entertainment!

This review is for their event space and hotel rooms. Upon talking with Neal, we set up an appointment to tour the space as a potential wedding venue. It's very much a corporate meeting space, but on weekends they are able to use it for weddings. To rent the space it's actually only $1,000 plus $5,000 minimum food and beverage (at around $55-65 per person). A HUGE bonus is the fact that they're connected to and cater from Beatrix :) The hotel rooms are gorgeous. Floor to ceiling windows, beautiful views, and they feel so spacious. I could easily see myself lounging here for hours! However, the actual reception space was banquet-y. No open windows with natural light, no cool space for cocktail hour, and they had never done a ceremony-to-reception room switch. Even though Aloft didn't meet my needs, it could easily be a super inexpensive city option.

Another trip to Chicago and another stay at the Aloft. My experiences here always seem to bounce between two stars (could be better) and three (a-ok). My latest experience was back down at a 2*. I'm not sure why but it seems every time I stay at a Chicago hotel that faces an alley someone always ends up throwing cinder blocks or broken glass into a dumpster at 3am. I have no idea why Chicago alleys are notoriously noisy but this ALWAYS happens. I forgot to ask which direction my room faced at check-in... something I came to regret. If you stay here make sure you are on a high floor and face Clark st.

I think it's too expensive for what this place is, but the rooms were nice and I liked the bathroom which is one of my important factors. If you're sharing a room, using the sink and having the light in will be annoying if the other person is sleeping since there's no separation here. The walls are paper thin. I can hear every door slamming and people talking at normal volumes in the hallways as well as everything going on outside the windows on the street. Very frustrating. Sleep with a sound machine app. The front desk receptionist who checked me in was super super nice and efficient. AC worked fine on these 95° days which is great. Some older hotels get super musty and this was comforts me. Overall I like the room and was comfortable, but I just think it's too expensive.

I LOVE Aloft Hotels. I am clearly there target market, but every little details gets me every time. Each Aloft is in an urban center and Aloft Chicago City Center is no exception being in the Loop downtown (It's only 5 blocks from the Clark/Lake Stop on the Orange Line Subway). The moment you walk in you're struck by the urban chic design. The front desk is simple concrete and the lobby has fun, inviting seats, couches and even a pool table. The snack bar is lit with fun lighting and the lounge is sprinkled with free copies of Fast Company and Wired Magazine. The rooms are simple but nice. We were on the 12th floor and had a perfect view of the Chicago skyline. The bathroom is clean and the entire room is very travel friendly with every amenity in the right place. The hotel has a restaurant that delivers to your room and a bar that stays open until 2AM. There's a 24 hour work out room and the equipment is more than enough for your work out. I'd stay here every time I come to Chicago. You can walk to all the sites, all the good restaurants and even hit up a gym of two!

Came for a work trip and had a pretty decent stay. Stayed in an accessible room, which was all they had available, and it was pretty spacious with a king bed. I did request room service every day when i first checked in and it only came once. They did bump my check out time by an hour when I asked which was nice. They didn't have makeup remover, which i thought most hotels would have some type of cleanser/towelette for, which left me running to a Walgreens at 11 pm which felt a bit unsafe. I also asked if they could bring me a hairbrush by calling their front desk, which also never arrived. Mostly though, I could hear the people in the rooms next to me. I could even hear phone alarms, the curtains being drawn, sirens outside, etc. Otherwise, it felt clean and decent.

My go-to accommodation in Chicago. Close to everything but you don't have to deal with the craziness of Wacker or Michigan. Rooms are small, like every Aloft, but I'm never in my room when visiting. Always super clean and fantastic air conditioning. It was 90 degrees in May!!!! Lots of yummy places to eat or grab a drink close by. Check in is always a breeze. Only problem I have ever had is noisy neighbors but hey, it happens.

What a comfortable stay! Would highly recommend this hotel to all. I requested an upgrade with my status and when that wasn't done at check-in, they promptly switched my room as soon as they realized their error. I also loved the voucher for breakfast. Will definitely stay here again!

This is a boutique-ish feeling hotel. New-looking. Modern vibe. Fun decor. Restaurant, bar, etc. onsite. Rooms are large enough and have all the basics plus some. And it's dog friendly! Staff are friendly and courteous. Bed is comfy. Great location - can walk to a lot.

I am trying to be nuanced when reviewing this hotel. My first night (on a Thursday evening) was fine. Quiet and a typical Aloft. Convenient location to food and cocktails. Not too far from the rest of downtown. Very nice front desk service upon check-in. Tasty breakfast and really good coffee downstairs. A fairly solid 4 stars. However, as soon as I arrived into the hotel on Friday evening from work, it was obvious that a much different crowd had checked in. I had finished a quick dinner across the street at Fado's and wanted to get some rest. The room next to mine had been turned into an adult man/child's version of a house party on the cheap. He and what sounded like 6 - 8 of his "friends" had decided to turn their little party up to 11. I called the front desk to complain, but they seemed slow to act. Finally, the front desk manager called my room to let me know that the denizens of the room next door had been warmed. "Okay", I said. "Listen to this." As I held the phone up in the general direction of the hallway to catch the yells and caterwauls of the rabid mammals next door. That was it--both for the party freaks and for myself. They got booted out of the hotel and I checked out and moved down to the EMC2. The front desk manager tried to make it right by comping my first night, which I appreciated. But, honestly, I didn't feel like this hotel was safe. Rating for second night: minus 2. Stay here at your own risk. The walls are apparently paper-thin and the clientele veers towards sketchy.

My friend and I stayed at Aloft this past weekend, and it was exceptional. After taking a red eye flight and running on 3 hours of sleep, we showed up to the hotel hours prior to check in hoping we could at least leave our bags there while we killed time until check-in, and were pleasantly surprised to find out that we could check in early (for a very reasonable fee). We promptly checked in and caught up on our sleep in our comfy beds. We got a corner room, and the view was amazing. The hotel is located on a street with ample night life on the weekend, which we loved. You could hear the street noise, but we didn't mind, as we brought ear plugs. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Interior is clean and modern. Upon checkout, we were allowed to leave our bags with them for a few hours. My only gripe is that I forgot to give them my Marriott rewards number, and they didn't ask for it to remind me. Loved this place; one of my favorite hotel stays ever!!

Absolutely the biggest scam out there. We booked 9 rooms for a group of models to stay while they worked in Chicago. The hotel front desk wouldn't discuss reservations and kept sending us to sales office. We began calling 3/6 everyday and couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. We needed to confirm all rooms were as requested with two double beds. The day before checkin they finally contact us via email and we asked for a phone call. Again no follow up. So the next day I called again and demanded to speak to Someone in sales before giving my credit card info. Once again I needed to make sure the reservation was correct. So I spoke to courtney who tells me that the rooms are only one bed for four girls. Yes one bed for four women. Insures me that she will get the rooms situated after I fill out the credit card authorization. Once I gave them credit card she tells me that they overbooked the hotel and they don't have the rooms and that they are charging me a cancelation fee since I didn't request cancellation on time. DO NOT BOOK ALOFT / owned by Marriott. This is so unethical and a shady way to do business I had to rebook 9 rooms at the Allegro hotel which was stunning and amazing. The aloft billed my credit card after I told them they were NOT authorized to charge anything since they didn't have the rooms we needed. Again stay away.

Dog friendly!! Brought our two large dogs here and they were nothing but accommodating toward them. The bed was comfortable and the Internet reliable -- perhaps the two most important things to us. Front desk staff was kind and held onto our dog crate for us behind the desk while we went out for lunch and then got the car to drive to the front and pick it up. The room was clean and the walls were thick enough that we didn't any noise from our neighbors. Additionally, it's in a GREAT area of town for a little weekend getaway. We had fun exploring the area and trying the restaurants! The restaurant downstairs isn't anything special and I'd recommend going elsewhere, but that's a separate business and I wrote a separate review for that. Only real con: parking. My advice is to save the parking fee by using spot hero or some parking app ahead of time to reserve a spot in the area. That's how we got parking at half the price the hotel charges. I didn't check out where the hotel's parking is so I can't comment on the convenience factor. Enjoy Chicago!

This place is managed terribly. This past weekend we stayed here and left early due to such a lackluster experience. Now I UNDERSTAND ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. I pick up my car and the valet had hit something on the passenger left side. I didn't notice til I got to work. Now as we speak the valet manager has handled the situation fairly well. Here is where it goes from bad to worse. When I call to report the accident the hotel manager says, "we are not associated with the valet." This is a direct quote of the manager on duty. So my car is given to me damaged and you can't even handle basic customer service. Not to mention the three days I am there, to call and get your car the front desk puts you on hold because they are with another guest. Hire more people to service your guests. Retrain the manager to handle situations and apologize for an unfortunate circumstances. Marriott missed the mark on this one!

Great property! Friendly staff and a great stay. We were in a room on a high floor with fantastic city views. The restaurant off the lobby is not part of the hotel, but was delicious. Location was great--many attractions were within walking distance, plus easy access to the CTA trains, including the line to the airport. Would definitely stay here on a return visit to the Windy City!
