The room was great. Very clean and tidy. Fresh. Window had plenty of light considering its NYC. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and toiletries.|When I checked in promptly and Jeremy also helped check me out and have my luggage held.|The lobby is also neat with plenty of seated area. I was out late and it was nice they had water and snacks available. Great stay, great location (3 different train lines are less than a 7 minute walk away). Will stay here again for sure.

Shout out to Jose who went above and beyond to give us what we needed to be comfortable and have a good experience! Always willing to do what he could to make our stay better, he’s a shining star! In general the staff was courteous and attentive. A previous reviewer got it right when they said “this hotel has everything you need and nothing you don’t”. Everything we needed: window that opened, small gym in the basement, small but cleverly laid out rooms, relatively quiet, great location near many subway lines. It was small, spare, and spartan but comfortable and well priced. Someone really gave this a lot of thought with the budget traveler in mind. My only complaint was the cleansers or room fragrance that was used. Overpowering chemical smell. Jose offered to tell housekeeping not to use it but I played it safe and cancelled housekeeping services for the rest of our stay. With the window opened, the smell dissipated by the next day. Aloft Fidi will be my home away from home whenever I come to New York from now on!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Aloft Hotel in New York, thanks to Valiesha! She was incredibly helpful, personable, and informative, going above and beyond to make our stay truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, Valiesha’s warm smile and genuine care made us feel right at home. She provided excellent recommendations for exploring the city and was always ready to assist with any questions we had. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our trip unforgettable. Thank you, Valiesha, for making our New York adventure so special! I can’t wait to return!

Great hotel! My friend and I have an annual trip to NYC for the last few years. This is our second or third time staying here because we love it. The location is fantastic, with lots of nearby amenities. The staff is also fantastic, especially Alex. He gave great recommendations for nearby places and always greeted us joyfully when we came back, asking how out outings were. Alex 100% made our stay better. Thank you! We have already decided we will stay here next year during our trip.

Google
Great location in the Financial District, close to transit and sights. Staff was friendly and the lobby had a dated modern vibe. But the room felt tired and in need of updates, scuffed walls, worn furniture, and dated fixtures. Very tiny room! Decent stay overall, but not quite up to Aloft’s usual standard.

Google
Avoid this hotel at all costs. Easily one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in NYC. The staff was consistently rude and dismissive every time we needed something or made a simple request, we were met with attitude. No greetings, no smiles, just pure hostility. The management team is even worse. Both managers were incredibly unprofessional and condescending when we asked for basic accommodations. Our room was outdated, the AC didn’t work, and everything felt run-down and neglected. When we asked for a refund or even a slight adjustment, the response was cold and disrespectful. This hotel does not represent the Marriott standard whatsoever it honestly felt like a scam. If you value your money and peace of mind, do not stay here.

I had a wonderful stay at the Aloft in FiDi, made even more memorable thanks to Valiesha at the front desk. She was truly my guardian angel at check-in—helping me navigate a booking snafu and resolving everything quickly and gracefully.||Each morning, her warm smile and kind demeanor were such a bright start to my day. Valiesha is not only incredibly professional and efficient but also genuinely welcoming and thoughtful. She is an absolute asset to the Aloft team and a big part of what made my experience so positive.||If you're visiting, be sure to say hello—you're in great hands with her!

Clean, spare, functional room with good plug placement. Perfectly adequate, but nothing outstanding. Dim hallway detracts from overall feeling. Friendly staff. Fine patio for drinks while looking way up at downtown buildings. Moderate price and solid location for downtown and financial district activities make this a reasonable option, if not a memorable one.

Yelp
The Aloft hotel in Fidi a perfectly fine, and affordable stay. My friend and I were in town for the New York Wine and Food Festival, and we selected this location because it was central to many of the events in Manhattan and also close to the Ferry where the transportation was to the larger events in Brooklyn. When looking for hotels this weekend, everything in NY was super expensive. This was the most affordable, central, and nice option based on our research. The hotel is like your regular a-loft. A little bar with snacks and drinks in the lobby, as well as an XYZ bar with happy hour specials. Our room had two queen beds, and was honestly pretty big which was good for two people. I will say, the lighting in the room was not great. I wish there was a floor lamp or something because the regular room / bathroom lighting made it hard to get ready. We did ask to see if we could get an extra lamp but did not receive one during our stay. My friend's bed was somewhat lopsided and had her having to sleep on one side only so she wouldn't slide, and the sheets are pretty thin which was not ideal for the cold nights. Overall though, you do get what you pay for and it was a fine and safe stay nearby everywhere we wanted to be.

Yelp
There are pros and cons for the Aloft!!! Pros: 1) I loved the housekeeping staff! They were so great and nice. 2) I actually liked the room design. I kind of like a small room? They are very small but it feels cozy and cute. 3) it's a great location for accessing public transit and stuff. Cons: 1) my room was not ready at my check-in time. That's annoying! No one seemed that concerned or surprised about it either. 2) the blankets are SO thin. I'd love a thicker blanket.

Yelp
Stayed here for a quick overnight stay. And I have to say I am torn while writing this review. There are a lot of things that kind of annoyed me, but also a lot of things that went above and beyond. So I think I'll just list them out one by one haha. 1. Location. just a few steps from the subway. I have no complaints here. However, if you are looking for a New York high-rise with a view, keep looking. 2. Check in. THEY LET ME CHECK IN AT 9 AM. Ok, folks, this is a first. I arrived in Newark, NJ on a rainy day after a long overnight flight from Seattle. There was a Karen in my cabin so I got ZERO sleep. After an exhausting ride on the train to NYC. I was drained. I expected that upon check-in I would have to store luggage and find something to occupy my time for a few hours, however to my surprise I was able to CHECK IN AT 9 AM!. This exceeds any previous experience for checking in early, and I have to say IT WAS APPRECIATED. 3. The room was very comfortable for a party of 1. If you're traveling with a group, I'd consider other options. 4. Ice machine....There's no ice machine available, you'll have to pick up prepackaged bags of ice in the lobby. For me, this wasn't an issue but keep this in mind. 5. No fridge in the room however, they will bring one to your room. ( I didn't even have to ask) After a few trips downstairs for ice, the desk rep asked if I would like a fridge. They brought it to my room without hesitation. 5. Found it very odd to find a Book of Mormon on the bed in 2024. ( Pic attached) I paid about $200/night here. and overall I think that's very fair compared to other NYC hotels. Yes, there's no room service or other amenities, however for the price I found it very comfortable for a party of 1, and being able to check in at 9 am was a game changer. overall 4/5 without hesitation.

Yelp
You know... you book with Marriott directly to kind of cut down on having to deal with unnecessary garbage. That was not the case here Seeing as though I'm not FROM here, I wouldn't know the events going on that may cause an issue with my stay I arrive at the hotel to find out there's no rooms available and that the hotel is overbooked. I am then sent to Fairfield Inn with great confidence only to find out they don't have any rooms either :-) I then call BACK to see WTF. To then learn I need to drive another 20 min to another hotel (Embassy) who also has me waiting another 20 min before I can be checked in. It takes 2 people to check me in for WHATEVER reason. There's no compensation, no entry points, nothing but a managers call I am to wait on in the morning. Once I get to the embassy there is no upgrade, no extra points no nothing. Never again.

Yelp
I booked this hotel using booking.com selecting to pay at the property. The location itself attempted to run my card a day before the reservation, then the morning of (it was locked since I choose to pay at the property) second time they ran it I got an email that I had 7 hours to pay or it would be cancelled. So I payed 1031.00 and boarded my flight. Imagine my shock upon attempting to check in that my reservation was cancelled. Why you may ask? An invalid card in the system. (How when I'm supposed to be paying at the property right? ). So i show that i indeed paid using the same card the obviously in competent manger loudly read the last 4 digits of my card number as being what they have saved. Then of course they had no other rooms. While talking to said Manger since the first child had no customer service skills, saying "yea unfortunately it's cancelled" in a sweet voice is not customer service, it's condescending. I expected more from them however I'm reminded everyday to not expect you from other people. Anyways as the manager talked o er me after I explains the steps I took in a moment of clarity she too said well i thought you were paying here... uh hello?!? What difference would that make if it's still cancelled?! Right so after waving me away to call booking.com that is in the Netherlands... so an international call, i hear the staff mocking the situation saying booking should find a room. Why would the site find me a room when they did not call my room? At any rate do not book here they are shady, they tried to be elitiest however it fell very flat upon entering the lobby and looking at the staff, you can smell the piss poor attitude from the door. As for me Thank God not only did booking give my money back but I was able to make sure the right people knew of my issue with recording as proof. So yea Selya wtf your name is Last laugh is on me ... dear Edit 10/27/2024 I attached an email I received from the hotel. Now we can see the bad behavior starts at the top with leadership! While hes concerned about "slang" your entire hotel is run by less than desirable individuals. The Chelsea location was much better we had a beautiful time!

Yelp
First time stay in Manhattan for business trip and my company book this one for me. 1) Locations: tons restaurants and stores around the hotel and subway stations too. 2) Front desk: when I checked in, the lady was very helpful, she let me check in around 12. 3) Room: clean and spacious. 4) Bar: not open everyday.

Yelp
Came on a last minute stay away from home to enjoy at an Aloft hotel which I've been wanting to try one of their hotel. The area is in the cut in someways in the Wall Street area. There are many places to eat and grab food in the area. The hotel service was good, nothing above and beyond but friendly. We liked the decor especially the lounge area which was playing music and nice place to relax. The room itself was modern, bed was comfy, tv have you everything you wanted to watch and the room had all the amenities you would usually See and need. Loved the bathroom and how it had a sliding door for privacy. The curtains were a bit outdated so maybe could use to touch ups there but other than that it was a smooth hotel. Would not kind staying here again.

Yelp
Should have checked reviews before I stayed here... Honestly, it isn't horrible. They were cheap ish compared to other hotels. They had some issues but whatever. But oh my god, the beds feel disgusting. They don't have actual sheets on the mattress, it's an easy on/easy off sheet that slips off all night. The sheets and blanket physically feel dirty to sleep in. As I was moving the blanket, I would get intense wafts of stale dirt smell, it would make me gag. I just slept on top of the blanket. Im attaching a photo showing what I mean by easy on bed sheet. Do not stay here if you like to feel clean. I think they didn't wash these sheets.

Yelp
Four times I've stayed in Downtown New York, and this is somehow the fourth Marriott property I've stayed in. Just keeps happening to be the case, I guess. Either way, staying Downtown is still better than staying in Midtown every damn day of the week. Main reason I picked this hotel was due to the fact that I needed two beds this time and this was the only downtown hotel that had two queens rather than two full beds. Well, turns out this hotel room is actually more spacious than I expected. With New York, I usually expect small rooms. This was actually normally-sized! Bathroom was not bad either, the sink was outside and the walk-in shower was a pretty spacious. We also were lucky to check in around 8 am since we got right off the plane and went straight to the hotel, so we probably sacrificed having a view. Not that this was near anything, so I don't even think there was a view. Staff here are great. I was more hopeful than expecting when I requested that super early check-in, but somehow we got lucky! Other than that, everyone here is super friendly. Got all our requests fulfilled pretty quickly. I actually wasn't sure if the location was great because I typically like being next to Fulton Street since all the train tracks run through there. It actually turned out to be fantastic! It was actually much closer to Fulton than I thought, and it was literally right around the corner from Joe's Pizza. I would actually say that with respect to proximity to Fulton, this was about as comparable as the Residence Inn I stayed in three years ago. Overall, much better hotel than I expected to stay at. I would not be opposed to staying here again, since all the other Marriott properties in this area are just way too ridiculously priced.

Yelp
Well the room is essentially the size of my bed, there's nowhere to put my suitcase without needing to climb over it. Also when I noticed there was no bottled water in the room I asked the front desk if they had any. And the guy said "yes but I'm not your bartender honey" and pointed me to the fridge where I could buy it. So. That. THEN I called the front desk because I'd indicated on their app that I'd prefer a foam pillow (pic attached) and the front desk guy told me all pillows were the same and there wasn't a foam pillow available. Then he THOUGHT he hung up and started talking mad smack about "this b**ch asking for a foam pillow wtf?!" It went on and on and I just listened...super pleasant.

Yelp
Good location but the street is kinda quiet/a side street, so it looks kinda sketchy. I wish the elevators required you to have a hotel room key to use them. Nice facilities, albeit small rooms. Also love the Dry Bar soap/shampoo/conditioner!
google avatar

Rocio R.

Yelp
The rooms are very tiny and no shelf space in the shower but the hotel is clean and felt safe coming in and out of there. There is currently construction going on that woke us at 730am but otherwise, it's a nice stay for a one nighter or short trip.
google avatar

Yelp
15th floor view of Manhattan was a beautiful sight to wake up to everyday! Room was clean and housekeeping came in everyday. Window was clean as well. Room was a good size, didn't feel too small for Manhattan and it in a good area that had easy enough access to all subway stations. The curtain seams leak light so recommend eye masks if you need to sleep in pitch darkness. Staff was flexible with checkout and pleasantly helpful. Wifi didn't work one evening but staff was responsive and fixed it the next morning. They were a little slow at times, but still responsive via the Marriot app for service requests. Had a solid 4 night stay.

Yelp
Terrible hotel... and horrible customer service. Decided to stay with another couple for the weekend. However, upon checkin the other couple was informed that the 15 and 16 floors flooded. But, actually they oversold the hotel. So the other couple had to stay at a sister property. So that messed up our couples weekend. In addition, the front desk agent at night was threatened by outraged guests because of the hotel being oversold. In fact, the police was called. The shower in the room leaked and they never fixed it. And at 10:00am while the do not disturb sign was on the door housekeeping knocked 3 times asking what time are we leaving,.. And no staff wears name tags and wears regular clothes not even a uniform color. You do not know who works there.

Yelp
This was a second stay at Aloft NYC downtown.  Let's get the some basics out of the way first.  The rooms are tiny, even by NYC hotel room standards.  Aloft rooms are generally on the small size, NYC hotel rooms are notoriously small, so if multiply both, carry the one, and divide by two, you get a walk-in closet size room, that requires going into the hall to change your mind.  Okay, maybe not that bad, but prepare yourself, and don't bring a lot luggage, or extra friends. Second, the area looks sketchy.  Especially at night.  We are and lived in NYC, so the city doesn't spook us.  We are not some family from Ohio coming to the big city the first time.  This area of town looks sketchy.  The good news - looks are deceiving.  The area itself isn't bad, and there are enough businesses open, even after this part of the city clears out, even late at night and 24 hours, where you won't feel like you are the only human in an abandoned wasteland. The hotel itself does what needs to be done.  A good bed at a good price.  Service is accomodating.  The brand targets a mid-20's - mid-30's demographic so the design is relevant to its customers.  This is a no frills stay.  And even though most guests skew younger, we didn't feel out of place, and we certainly weren't the intended audience. The location is excellent.  Blocks several subway lines (and the Staten Island Ferry) which take you to just about anywhere in Manhattan or the outer boroughs.(with an express train you can be on the upper west or east side in 15-20 minutes) Easy walk to downtown shopping, the World Trade Center site, Wall Street, City Hall, Courts, ChinaTown, Battery Park.  You are steps away from the Brooklyn Bridge. IF you happen to drive, parking is available through an agreement with the garage next door.  Daily rate with the hotel discount which is incredible by NYC standards, and a lot of other popular cities as well. If you are looking  for a Plaza Hotel experience, and a mid-town vibe, this isn't the place.  However, if you want decent room, at a decent rate, it's worth it. is dog friendly so if you bring your fur baby is a couple parks near by but remember to be responsible and pick up after your pooch. one of my favorite things is the deli around the corner for anything you need.
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
It's... a hotel. Pretty no-frills, conveniently located near Wall St, the South Street Seaport, etc. My friends rented a single, and it was pretty tiny. Decent views, and they have some amenities like a game room. My buddy asked them to bring up some linens, and the guy knocked on the door and then just dropped them all on the floor. So there's that.
google avatar

Tony T.

Yelp
Rooms are fine, gym is in the basement - small but adequate for what I needed to do. Elevators are slow, staff was nice and tried their best. There is an outdoor space that I walked around and they have a bar that is sometimes open. They have free coffee in the morning so that is nice. Location isn't bad as there are a few subway lines within a 5 minute walk. Overall you can do better but you can definitely do worse when booking a hotel in Manhattan.
google avatar

Bobbi Jo B.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Aloft! The lobby is welcoming, fun, and friendly. Yes, the rooms are small, but we expected that. However, having queen beds was great for our family of four rather than doubles, which is one of the main reasons we picked this hotel! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We did have a problem with the plumbing in our room, but we were very satisfied with the solution. Shana at the front dest worked diligently to get maintenance to fix the issue, and then ended up switching us into new rooms. We appreciated the service and the way Shana helped resolve the issue! We also liked the location, as we could walk to several places easily (Joe's pizza, Van Leeuwen's ice cream, city hall park, and Battery Park) and it was super convenient to catch the subway for anywhere else.
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
The hotel location is great, and very conveniently near many subway options and a 24 hour CVS. I got there early on check in day and was expecting to leave my bags and head out into the city but they had a room available and let me check in early. The room was clean and equipped with a smart TV with Netflix. Great water pressure in the showers. Downsides were that we could hear the room next to us watching TV or their alarms going off, and that they were very bad at keeping up with the filtered water jug they kept in the lobby (only once did I see it filled up, most of the time it was near empty or not even there). The price is not expensive by New York standards but it is definitely not cheap either--for these reasons I would expect the sound proofing and complimentary water service to be better.

Yelp
i checked in on a humid day when it was raining in july. the hotel itself is on a small street in the financial district, which is fine. if you gotta unload a lotta stuff, it's gonna be slightly challenging, but that's a function of the location, and not the hotel itself. the check in was super easy, especially if you are a marriott bonvoy member. the hotel is fully integrated with the app, so you can use the mobile key on the app if you forget or demagnetize the conventional room key. the elevators are quick and prompt, even though there are only two. my only real niggle is the AC. even set to be as cool as possible (65 degrees) it was still 80 degrees inside the room with the temperature outside at 100% humidity (raining) and in the 80s. even now at 1214 am, it is 74 degrees outside and with the AC set the same, it's still 78 degrees in the room. the room itself is about as expected for NYC-sized places. it's a king bed in this room with a small bathroom and limited closet space and desk space, but it works. no complaints there. would stay here again for the price.
google avatar

Sara I.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Absolutely terrible unfriendly staff, AC in our room was broken for the full 3 day stay. The temperature of the room remained 82 degrees even after having someone come up and "service it " the 2nd night which was 1 night to late.. (even though it made no difference) rooms were not clean at ALL I had to continue to request towels everyday ... overall not worth the bill and waste of points for the other nights. Upon completion of a survey the manager reached out to extend an apology and offer a refund in points and an additional 20k which 2 weeks later now has not hit my account. I've emailed 5 times following up since with no response! Not a great location and not a clean or friendly hotel don't bother! Worst Marriott I have ever stayed in! $400 a night for this!!! Please NYC has so many options what a disappointment!

Jason J.

Yelp
Nice location and staff Room is ok size BUT was designed by someone who decided that 2 cubbyholes are better than something with drawers YES NO PLACE TO UNPACK AND STORE CLOTHING Tv system sucks you can easily scroll Through channels and tv is on side wall verses in front of the bed The WXyz bar is closed
google avatar

Brenda W.

Yelp
It was a horrible birthday experience. There was a drug deal occurring right outside of the hotel. They told us we could check out due to Safety concerns!!! Well , we checked into another Marriott property but they did not check us out and lied saying we stayed all three nights. DO NOT STAY HERE

Dato K.

Yelp
I reserved two rooms for my family and myself at this hotel from April 2 to April 8, and I would like to provide feedback on our experience during our stay. Regrettably, the rooms did not meet our expectations in relation to their high nightly rate, as they were extremely small for the cost we paid. On the other hand, we had an excellent experience with the housekeeping staff, who were very attentive to our needs and provided great service. However, I must express my disappointment with an incident of racism involving Mrs. Tempress Brown, which I experienced during my stay. As a natural-born U.S. citizen with Hispanic roots and English as my first language, I found Mrs. Brown to be extremely rude, unhelpful, and discriminatory towards me during a midday interaction on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was overly interested in my departure date and exhibited impatience and hostility in her words, which created a very uncomfortable experience. In my view, individuals like Mrs. Brown should not be the first point of contact for new guests checking in, particularly given ALOFT's reputation as a respected hospitality company. This experience was unacceptable and reflects poorly on your hotel. Despite this, I am grateful for the excellent service provided by Front Office Manager Charles Fentroy, who always demonstrated a positive attitude and ensured a pleasant experience for my family and me. Mr. Fentroy is a credit to your organization and exemplifies outstanding service.

Yelp
I have wanted to leave an excellent review for the Aloft Hotel since my husband and I first stayed here months ago. I am finally getting around to it. We came back here today and I immediately felt welcomed. Elani (hope I am spelling your name correctly) was behind the desk. I remember her name from many months ago because she was and is wonderful. She definitely is one of the reasons we came back. The rooms are comfortable, cozy and clean. We love this place.

Yelp
Boy, what misleading pictures advertised on their site. The positives were that the staff was kind, allowed us to check in early, and the bed comfortable. The downsides far outweighed the good aspects. The entrie room stank of mold, overwhelmingly so in the bathroom. Within 15 minutes of arriving I ran out to grab some bleach spray. I also feel the cleaning ladies really must only change the sheets and towels. I found dust, handprints, snack wrappers, and a corner of a condom wrapper. Aside from the black mold in the bathroom, there was the blue body wash provided all over the walls. I could go on but you get the idea. Don't let the fresh looking images online fool you. Despite only having been built in 2014, this place is a hot mess. The lobby was also incredibly disheveled with bins everywhere and their slow elevators padded with nasty burlap "protectors". Had I known they were doing some sort of construction there I'd have never booked. Save yourself the headache.

Yelp
The staff here are exceptional everyone greeted me each time I came in no matter how early or late. They were also very accommodating when I needed assistance and gave very helpful suggestions. The rooms were clean and affordable. I would have lived a pool .. if there was one then I totally missed it that's my only recommendation. The area is exceptionally awesome and convenient to lots with 24 hr CVS across the street and tons of food options on Fulton one block over .the hotel also offers a nice little happy hour !!!

Yelp
Stayed here 2 nights. Really great service and front desk people. My only complaint is uber pool makes you walk a bock or two from the hotel. Rooms are clean, and mostly quiet. I felt the rooms were a bit smaller than some of the pricier hotels, but it's great for the price. Also the free wifi for all your devices. I was able to watch movies on my PC over the Wifi so that was really nice and attests to how well the connection is. Lastly I love the showers. All the warm showers you can ask for, and the water never gets cold. If your looking for a trendy place to sleep with good wifi, and don't want to spend 300 dollars a night this is your place.

Yelp
We had a 4 day stay planned and when we got to the hotel the street was closed and you could not access the Hotel. It turns out a parking garage collapsed 3 weeks earlier and access has been closed off and businesses are closed. No one notified us. I tried calling the number the day before and left a message to update my reservation. I ended up calling corporate customer service the day before and they updated my reservation - never mentioning it was closed. We ended up having to book a lesser quality hotel for the trip and cancel this reservation

Yelp
Absolutely awful experience. I travelled across the country, got here at night for the front desk lady to tell me my reservation was cancelled with no prior phone call or email. I was able to check in for my reservation early so that didn't make any sense. The front desk lady was not helpful or nice. She said we have to relocate due to no occupancy at all so I'm stranded for now. She wasn't even standing at the front desk, she was hiding in her office. As I'm looking for a new place to stay, I've seen other people needing help and she remains in her office. The phone was ringing and she was in no rush to answer it. Another lady is having issues with her reservation too. I'm very upset and very exhausted.

Yelp
Room was clean and check-in was quick. Convenient location to Fulton St station , World Trade, and Seaport district. However, the windows were SO dirty you could not see out of them. Covered in a gross film (mold?). Really really need a window cleaning ASAP

Yelp
Pros: The location was perfect, the room was surprisingly quiet, and the bed was really comfortable. The room also came with upscale Drybar-brand toiletries. Cons: The check-in process and overall service left something to be desired. I requested an early check-in, which was confirmed on my Marriott Bonvoy app for 12pm. The young woman who assisted me with check in was short with me a few times when I followed up every hour or so about the status of the room and about retrieving items from the bags I checked with the front desk. She and her colleague appeared more interested in their personal conversations than assisting guests. When I was finally able to complete check-in around 3pm, she simply handed me the keys and didn't bother explaining any features of the hotel for me. After I got to the room, I had to call the front desk three separate times to have my bags brought up. (Side note--a different gentleman from the front desk ended up bringing my bags to me himself later that evening,l. I appreciated his personal efforts to make sure my stuff got to me.) Similarly, the room was advertised to come with a mini-fridge but it wasn't in the room upon arrival. I had to call twice to have a fridge brought up. On the second day, I requested maid service to come empty my trash cans in the morning. I called twice but no one ever came, so I gave up and emptied the cans myself in the lobby trash. Only one critique of the room itself--it lacked a full-length mirror. Finally, the gym (which was super small) was completely out of water and sanitizing wipes. I didn't bother calling to have it re-stocked because it wouldn't have been worth the effort.

Yelp
Every time I travel to New York from Miami, I stay here just off the strength its laid back and super quit. Anything you need as for as food, shopping, drink, miscellanies, etc are all walking distance from the hotel. When I say this place is the best and the bomb! I mean everything by it. ALEX is my faaavorite of all times, he's so fun to converse with and knows how tomato guest comfortable and laugh! He makes sure I'm good and my room is up to par at all times! The managing staff is really the heart of this entire hotel. I reckon this hotel to anyone whose looking for a Homie-Like stay around people that will make sure you're ok & safe at all times, but mores like you never left home ! 5 STARSSSSSSSS - Mia

Yelp
Stayed here for one night when I visited NY for a party last weekend. I've stayed at a few hotels in NY, and this by far was probably one of the most spacious. I booked online using Expedia. It's in the heart of the Financial District and walking distance from One Trade Center. I will say the area is sort of suspect. But that's New York for you. The hotel is easily accessible but on a tiny one way street. The front desk staff were friendly and check in was a breeze. The room was clean and as mentioned above, quite spacious. The room was well stocked with water, coffee and toiletries. Their soap smells amazing. The bed was soooooo comfortable! This is what got them the 4th star. I did not expect this. Seriously. The pillows and the bed were so comfortable that I did not want to get up the next morning. I ended up requesting a late check out. Some of the best sleep ever! My trip was an over night one. Since I was in and out, I forgot to snap lots of pictures. But I got a few. It's not a 5-Star with full service but definitely worth a visit if in the area. It's a short cab ride from Times Square and many of the other popular spots in NYC.

Yelp
Literally trash. The one star is generous. Trash service, sheets and blankets filled with brown stains all over them, lights barely work, toilet barely flushed, the room smelled like piss... I can keep going on and on. But all I can say is don't spend your money here. I seen a motel 6 on the side of the road with better service and amenities. Don't let the pictures fool you. Only pros was the location and the pool table downstairs.

Yelp
I've been flying to NYC fairly often and it's always hard to find affordable hotels located in Manhattan. The Aloft financial district seemed to fit the bill, and I've always enjoyed the younger, hippier atmosphere of the Aloft brands. The hotel itself is quite small with a tiny lobby, a decent size bar, and an interesting outdoor courtyard right off the bar. Was nice getting a drink at the bar and stand outside to drink (albeit staring at a ton of buildings). The rooms were small but comfortable with everything you need. Don't have much except a bed, small table, and a serviceable bathroom. Always enjoy the Bliss bath products in the Aloft hotels though! What really made the experience terrible was the technological issues. First, their key card writer wasn't working so they couldn't make keycards for us to get into our room. However, this hotel has SPG keyless where you can use your phone to enter your room. Except... that wasn't working either. So the only way to get into my room was to wait for the security guard to come down and escort me to my room everytime I left it. Staff was apologetic so not their fault, but I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and I've never seen this type of issue. You would think something this important they would have a backup somewhere.

Yelp
I have neutral feelings for this Aloft hotel. Location - good for people who work near Wall Street, but for a tourist like me, this was far. I did like how it was close to WTC for shopping reasons though, and also very close to subway stations. However, the street location itself seems shady - wouldn't want to arrive here late at night from a subway station. Definitely take a cab in if you're arriving very late at night. Room - super tiny, but hey, it's NYC and all hotel rooms will be tiny. It was basically just our king-side bed, a desk, and to be honest I can't remember where we put our luggage! Service & amenities - they give 1 complimentary Dasani water bottle for your stay. That's about it. Service is super friendly though, I give them that! Elevators seem fast when you are going up, but when you're on your floor to go back down to the lobby, it seems like it takes forever. Ambiance - this hotel still has the great ambiance I love, with bold colors, modern & loud music, and the pool table to kill time. They also have a 24-hour snack bar if you want to pay for it.

Yelp
Good location but that's all I can say positive. 1 we had no hot water in the bathroom sink so if I needed hot water to wash my face I would have to get it from the shower. 2 we ran out of toilet paper called down for more 15 mins went but still not toilet paper called again to remind them and someone brought something up 10 mins later. 3. Customer service was not very friendly at all. The main guy seemed like he always had an attitude maybe that's just his personality but not acceptable for customer service. 4. No fridge in your room and microwave only down stairs. 5. I just wouldn't recommend staying there if you can find better for the price you are going to pay.

Yelp
Frank - the Night Auditor - is the man!! I left my phone in a taxi. I didn't realize it until I got up to my room and hustled back down to the front desk. Frank was immediately on it. Using his phone, he found my phone, and he kept pinging it until the taxi driver picked up. 15 minutes later, the taxi arrived back to the hotel with my phone. Frank saved me time, frustration, and money! You certainly would not get that service just anywhere. Stellar!! Thank you Frank.

Yelp
I usually stay at the Hilton but recently been disappointed with the quality of rooms in several of their locations. So, this time, I decided to stay at the Aloft. I've stayed with them before when I was in Asheville, so I thought I'd give it a try again. It's hard to find an affordable hotel that offers nice rooms, especially in NY. So I was quite pleasant with my room. The interior was modern and cute. The room also felt spacious for NY. The personal touch was quite nice - like writing down the name of the person who cleaned your room and also leaving a piece of chocolate on the table for your stay. I didn't try any of the amenities like the bar or the convenience store at the lobby, so I couldn't comment on those. Overall, enjoyed my stay and will be returning if I'm in the Fidi area again.

Yelp
Let me start out by saying I'm only giving one star because of how accommodating the staff was. When we arrive we were given a dirty room went downstairs and we did have a clean room within 10 minutes. After checking into our Second room we realized that we could hear the conversations of our next-door neighbors along with the screaming of their kids that would go on for hours. Big issue especially when you're on a anniversary trip. We originally were supposed to stay for three nights but requested a refund for the next two nights and took our business somewhere else because the hotel just didn't seem very clean quite honestly. While we were requesting A refund another group came down requesting a refund as well not sure what for. I would definitely avoid this place if you have any kind of standards. Save your time and money.

Yelp
This hotel was just right for my little birthday weekend! Small, cozy room. I loved the mirrors in the bathroom, I couldn't stop taking pictures lol. An overall great experience for my boyfriend and I.

Yelp
Spent the weekend here at the beginning of this month. It's suuuuuper close to the subway, food, places to see. It was actually so convenient being in this area. The Brooklyn bridge is about a two minute walk. There's a CVS just around the corner. There's a pho place literally steps from the door. The workers here are so so sweet. They're super friendly and helpful when we had any questions. The rooms are as expected - you're in NYC and we aren't getting a penthouse, so... There was a king sized bed in the room (basically the entire room). A tv, toilet, stand up shower, and mini fridge. You know, for a small hotel room, I really enjoyed staying here. My one concern was the smell....it kind of smelled like, a public restroom at first? I mean my nose got used to the smell in a few minutes but still lol. All in all I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a bang for their buck.

Yelp
Hotel is convenient , room very small, bar and terrasse very relaxing. Staff very good. Breakfast not existant with coffee only unless you pay a fortune for nothing !!

Yelp
I made a reservation there, cancelled it, got a cancellation number thru Marriott and they still charged me and after a month have not credited me back. A horrible way to do business.

Yelp
I would normally give stars and write a review, but I feel as though this review needs to be explained. The service at this hotel is second to only the highest quality hotel chains. The service and staff are always happy to greet you and ask you how things are going. The service alone is worth the five stars. Let's talk about why I did not give 5 stars. Although the staff are amazing, the rooms are less than amazing. I would normally drop a few stars based off of the room size, cleanliness, and value, but the service makes up for it. The room is small and the cleanliness is sub-par. Other than those few things it was a very enjoyable stay.

Yelp
Small rooms and bad housekeeping. I asked that the sheets be changed because they won't unless you leave this card on the bed stating that you would like fresh linen. When we returned I checked to see if the sheets were the same and I could tell they just made the bed and not changed the linens. They provided fresh towels but didn't leave any wash cloths. We had to call for additional lotion and we had a maintenance person come to the wrong room. Overall I was going to give four starts stars but because of the bad housekeeping I dropped a star.

Yelp
I had zero problems with my stay. Checked in very early on a Thursday and left on a Sunday. Front desk seemed helpful enough and didn't give me a hassle. Room was clean. Air conditioner worked great. Water pressure was fine and actually got nice and hot. Two slight downsides: no vent fan in the bathroom and the sink faucet was a bit loose. Nothing that was a dealbreaker for me. If you've stayed in Aloft (SPG-Marriott group) before, you know they're going for barebones but modern look, which was just what I needed. I didn't plan to spend time in my room beyond sleeping. Noise level was pretty quiet, but I did have a room in the corner. I'd definitely stay here again, even if it feels a bit out of the way being in downtown. It's easy to catch the MTA from the hotel and you're a quick walk to lots of cheap eats, the 9/11 memorial and the Brooklyn Bridge.
