Perfect location next to US Bank Stadium. Our High School had their graduation there so it worked out perfect. Rooms were quiet and comfortable and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Great pool and hot tub too! There’s also some fun games in the lobby for all ages. We had a Great Stay! We’ll be back. Thanks.

The hotel was hosting a huge Pride party which is wonderful except they had a DJ playing all night right under our room. The walls of our rooms were vibrating and it was so loud we could not even hear each other talk. How is it ok for a HOTEL to host a party so loud that the guest can’t sleep? Isn’t sleeping the whole point of going to a hotel? Unacceptable. ||The following day we left our room at 11am and asked for our room to be cleaned. We returned at 4pm and the room had not been cleaned. ||The hotel is fine and the location is great. But how can a hotel host a loud party and completely ruin the sleep of the people paying to stay there? This doesn’t make sense. How can a hotel not clean and service your room? ||Disappointing to say the least.

I have stayed at this specific location now 3 different occasions. Sometimes our tournament location is a 25/30 min drive. I will forever stay in THIS ALOFT when I am in Minneapolis. Best service, cleaning staff, amenities, parking options, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. They. Make. It. Always. Work. No matter what you need they are going to do what they can to help. In all Marriott hotels all over the US I have stayed in. Downtown Minneapolis ALOFT is THE. BEST.

Check in was simple but I requested a mobile key and still had to check in at the desk. Don’t offer the mobile key if I’m still going to have to go through the entire checking process - very inconvenient. I was on a very high floor but still had to listed to the bass from a party they had one night while I was there (I stayed Monday-Thursday). To be fair, it was NFL draft night and this brand is known for doing more fun things for guests but be aware if that’s not your vibe. I didn’t anticipate it going on in the middle of the week. Parking is VERY limited. I somehow got the last spot available while I was there but they probably only had 10-15 spots. I’m not sure what the alternative was for anyone who checked in after me. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. I would probably stay again knowing there’s a possibility of a mid-week party while I’m working.

We booked a hotel block for our guests for my son's wedding. We were told that the wedding "Welcome Bags" for our guests would be given to them at check-in. I know of 3 couples who did not get their bags at check-in and they received them only after I complained. Our check-in took 4-5 visits to the front desk as we were not informed where the underground parking was located or how the system worked. Extremely unprofessional. While the front desk did apologize and try to make amends, a wedding happens once and there is no redo. Very disappointed. Marriott Customer Service was absolutely no help and, in fact, made the situation worse. We will never work with the Aloft again & are thinking of switching to another hotel chain's loyalty program as Aloft and Marriott did not execute what was promised. Potential wedding hosts beware!

I need to know and HAVE what bed they keep in their king room! Was super comfortable giving me the best sleep in a while. Decor is lovely. Games were entertaining. Decent spread of expensive breakfast/ kitchen foods that I didn't indulge in. The room sink is odd and different, not too practical. Overall, on the list for repeat stays

I have never stayed here but I have had to make reservations for co-workers and it is a nightmare to get help on the phone! I called and waited 33 minutes to get a rude receptionist who said she would email me and never did. I’m waiting right now for the receptionist who put me on hold to email me a credit card authorization form 11 minutes and counting! If your quote is “different by design” it’s not a good different! Nevermind at 16:48 she hung up on me.

When we arrived, there were squatters in our assigned room — completely unacceptable. The front desk gave us a new room, but the supervisor was extremely dismissive and defensive when my friend voiced concerns. She wouldn’t even make eye contact. She did allow her to share feedback with upper management, but the way it was handled left me feeling really uncomfortable. The lack of service here was insane with no apology and two drink tickets for this MAJOR SAFETY RISK. The manager was very unprofessional. We came here for a relaxing spa weekend as we both needed it only to be met with more stress as women alone in the city. The thought that anyone can come in at any point by “security” was alarming!

Yelp
Has everything you need for a visit to the cities. Within walking distance to the Vikings stadium with nearby parking garage. Staff was friendly and accommodating, and I will be back!

Yelp
I had a terrible booking experience with this hotel. I made the reservation online where the only option was prepay. I chose this hotel due to the close proximity to US Bank stadium as I was surprising my husband with a trip to Minneapolis so he could see his favorite team - the Minnesota Vikings. The NFL flexed the game and changed the time. This forced me to change plans. I canceled this reservation well in advance (10 days) and rebooked for the next night. They charged me for both nights and said they couldn't provide a refund because it was a prepay rate - the only one available. Terrible customer service. There are a lot of hotel chains and Marriott just lost my business permanently.

Yelp
I had a terrible experience with this business. My friends and I made plans to spend the night here following the Taylor Swift concert. Being good planners, we made the reservation 6 months in advance (as soon as we got tickets) for a room with two queen beds and an additional rollaway bed. A month before the concert, we were contacted by the hotel saying that they couldn't fulfill the reservation we had already paid for in full. All the hotels downtown were filled to capacity that weekend. There was going to be a big concert, they weren't sure if we knew. They'd be happy to rebook us for a different weekend, with no penalty! The whole situation was ridiculous. Clearly some manager at the hotel had belatedly realized that people would be willing to pay a ton of money to stay that weekend, and wanted to kick us out so they could sell our room for more money. The hotel tried to pass the whole thing off as being our fault. They claimed we'd made the reservation through a third party booking site (we hadn't), then that we hadn't specified wanting two beds (we had), then finally that we hadn't paid for the room yet (we had). After A LOT of back and forth, they finally relented and graciously gave us a room with ONE bed...for the three of us. Could we at least get the rollaway bed we had also reserved for that night? Of course not, all the hotel's rollaway beds had already been booked for that night - there was a big concert going on, maybe we'd heard? The best they could do (out of the goodness of their hearts, no doubt) was to provide an air mattress. Which the staff that delivered it didn't even see fit to pump up. Or to give us extra sheets for. As an apology for everything they put us through, the hotel gave us a gift card to their cafe...for a whole $25. This just felt like adding insult to injury at that point. I had a great time that night, but absolutely none of it was due to this hotel. They got greedy, messed up, and then tried to blame us for their mistakes.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Aloft in Minneapolis and had a mixed experience. While the hotel boasts a good location, there were several aspects of my stay that left much to be desired. On the positive side, the hotel's location is convenient and offers easy access to various attractions and amenities in Minneapolis. This was definitely a plus for exploring the city. However, the customer service at Aloft Minneapolis was quite disappointing. Despite being a loyal Marriott member with almost 500 stays under my belt, I was surprised to be charged for an early check-in, which has never happened to me before. This unexpected charge left a sour taste in my mouth. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that there was no housekeeping service during my stay. My room was not made up, which is something I have come to expect from Marriott chain hotels. It was disappointing to have to endure an uncleaned room throughout my stay. To make matters worse, when I called the front desk to request clean towels, I had to wait over 40 minutes and make three separate calls before receiving them. This delay was frustrating and significantly impacted my overall experience. As a loyal Marriott member, I had hoped for better value from Aloft Minneapolis. Unfortunately, the lackluster customer service and inconveniences I encountered during my stay have left me feeling like more of an inconvenience than a valued guest. In conclusion, while the Aloft Minneapolis has a good location, the poor customer service, unexpected charges, lack of housekeeping, and delays in basic requests made my stay less than satisfactory. As a Marriott member, I would recommend exploring other options that offer better value and a more welcoming experience.

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely fine for a couple nights in Minneapolis. Is it the most updated, gorgeous hotel? No. But it has a pool, fitness center and lots of affordable grab and go options. The rooms are actually pretty sizable with drybar products in the showers. The heat and AC worked well. And I slept through the entire night, which is rare for me in a hotel. Lastly, the location was really fabulous. There is a great park for jogging right behind the hotel. There is a Trader Joe's and Starbucks within walking distance. There are lots of food options within 0.5-1.5 miles. Ubers cost next to nothing coming from Boston and DC. Basically, all the necessities!

Yelp
I had the privilege of aiding in planning an exciting event called "Climb for a Cure." Chad, a Relentless Champion of Hope, set out on a unique trip to raise awareness and fund colorectal cancer research by kayaking down the Mississippi River. We got amazing support at the Aloft Hotel Minneapolis during Chad's incredible adventure. Samantha Featherston, the hotel's Sales Manager, greeted Chad's crew warmly and offered discounted rooms. Samantha and the Aloft Hotel team were accommodating. I am grateful to the Aloft Hotel Minneapolis for their kindness. Their dedication to helping cancer survivors and caregivers is admirable. We say, "No One Fights Alone." Thank you Aloft for being Relentless in the Fight against Colorectal Cancer (CRC)! PC FightCRC.org

Yelp
Solid 4 star hotel. Very modern. The rooms have everything you want (iron, ironing board, mini-fridge, flat screen TV, hair dryer, etc.). The room even included a safe, which was a nice touch. The hotel is in downtown. It is next to Gold Medal Park and the Mississippi river, as well as a block away from the Vikings stadium. Excellent location. Bars and restaurants in close walking distance. Aloft even provides a shuttle service to the airport that is cheaper than Uber and the cabs.

Yelp
Super cute with several amenities. We stayed here for two days over St. Patrick's Day and loved it. The cost is very reasonable, they have a bar in the lobby and offer breakfast and dinner (for a cost). The staff are very friendly and remembered us each day. The ONLY downsides is that the rooms are fairly small and there is no microwave, and you will have to pay for parking - either $25 for valet on site or $10-$20 for ramp parking across the alley way, but this is pretty typical with downtown Minneapolis hotels.

Yelp
We had such a nice experience at this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights during June 2021. The STAFF MEMBERS are EXCEPTIONAL - so kind and helpful. Someone is always willing to help you, grab you extra hotel supplies, or answer any questions you have. The location of this hotel is FANTASTIC. You can walk to the lovely Gold Medal Park, the Guthrie Theatre, the Stone Arch Bridge, and more! Even in this urban setting, and in a city with recent social and political issues, this location feels safe. Of course, exercise the usual caution you would in any urban setting. When we purchased our room stay, we chose a package that included 1 parking spot in the garage - this was most cost effective and convenient. The gym facility area is very nice, and the hotel also has fun bright outdoor patio seating. We will for sure stay here again when we are back in Minneapolis!

Yelp
Really enjoyed my stay at the Aloft Minneapolis. The service was great and it's close to restaurants, parks, and other local attractions. The hotel is clean and my room had an outstanding view of the Minnesota Vikings Football stadium! Can't beat that!

Yelp
00000 stars!! When we arrived the staff asked that I insert my form of pay. After I inserted my card - it read approved. However, his system stop working and showed no transaction so, he asked that I try again. I showed him the approval on my end, but he insisted I insert my card again. After a brief discussion & reinserting my card, I immediately received an alert on my mobile device of a large transaction. Yup, double billed. I know, the translation will not go through until check out , but there is a pending balance on my account. Once the action clears its take 7-10 business days until I goes back on my account. I get ALL that. My 0 rating is based on how the staff handled the issue. He immediately went into defense mode and said, well you shouldn't have inserted your card twice, even after I reminded him, that was what he asked me to do. He then said sorry, nothing we can do. The next morning I spoke with management and she told me the same, nothing we can do, but I can offer you a free breakfast sandwich or free drink voucher. I guess I should have accepted and asked the voucher equal the amount pending on my account. Again, my 00000 rating is directed toward how the staff handled the situation and acted as if the issue was my fault and nothing they could do. Also, I failed to mention both employees said, the double transaction happens here all the time. I contacted customer service and filled a complaint. I'll be calling Marriott Corp first business day of the week when I return from our trip. I've never been so disappointed in hotel staff. I understand mistakes happen, but having "sorry nothing we can do" as the only immediate response is crazy to me.

Yelp
Hotel: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: Very satisfied with the hotel. Comfy and cozy! The extended review... Hotel: The bed was comfy and most importantly it was clean! Both of the end tables had outlets which was very convenient. Service: Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ambiance: I'd say it's pretty chic actually. Not too mod but décor was pretty relevant. Location: As I was on a business trip and was being driven around, I wasn't really quite sure if it was a good location or not.

Yelp
We love ALOFT and the staff is always sooooo friendly. Everytime you walk in the greet you and do something to make you feel special. It was a hot spring day and as we walked in the managers offered us some cold bottles of water. Small touches like that go a really long way. Free street parking from 10pm-8am made not having to pay for overnight parking really nice. Our room had a direct view of the football stadium. Good area. Would def recommend!

Yelp
I typically really like Aloft hotels but this one left me disappointed and underwhelmed. I arrived late on a Wednesday night after a long day of work and travel. As it was my first time in Minneapolis, I asked the gentleman at the front desk for nearby food recommendations. He replied that "everything was closed" in the area. That was both interesting and disappointing because the Whole Foods down the street was open for at least another 90 minutes. Good thing I consulted my friend Google and didn't trust his word. After I returned with my food, I parked across from the hotel in a public lot and lugged my suitcase up a snow-filled sidewalk. No salting or shoveling requirements in Minneapolis? Who knows. I'm also not sure why Aloft doesn't work something out with this lot to make things more accessible and convenient for hotel guests. I'm sure many of us would happily pay an up-charge for more convenience. Finally, I made my way to my room to find that the key he gave me didn't work. That meant lugging my stuff back down to the lobby for yet another unhelpful and unpleasant conversation. My night in the room was comfortable despite not having any washcloths. Sigh. Details matter, folks. The woman who was working the front desk when I checked out the next morning was quite a bit more helpful and even helped me sort out some issues with my Starwood Preferred Guest account. However, the overall experience wasn't what I expect from Aloft or up to the standard I'm sure they set for themselves.

Yelp
This hotel is in a great location for many activities in Minneapolis. The price is tight as well. But our experience leaves a lot to be desired. For example, the parking is ridiculous! There are a few outdoor spaces that are assigned when you check in. You can also get a spot in the underground parking. However, the entrance to the underground parking is not marked and the key to open the gate didn't work. So we couldn't enter the parking garage. We had to park across the street in the public ramp. It was fine, but it took almost 45 minutes upon arrival before we got parked and got into the room due to the parking lot issues. Our stay was also challenged due to noisy neighbors. People were up til 3:30 am talking, laughing, etc. Suggestions: First, clearly mark the entrance to the parking garage and have a map available for front desk staff to direct people where to go. Second get the key to the garage fixed. Third, hire a security guard to patrol the halls at night to hush noisy guests. If you are looking for a decent hotel to stay when attending events in downtown Minneapolis, this is an ok place. Just be prepared for some parking confusion and poor service.

Yelp
Stayed here for 5 days while in town for an IT conference. I signed up to have my iPhone unlock my room door - which is a very cool option. Once your iPhone is activated - you launch the SPG app and hold the iPhone against the door mechanism - and door unlocks after a few seconds! I had an accessibility room - which I assume is why my bed was lower to the floor than a normal bed. The bed itself was rather uncomfortable. Room was clean and a bit on the spartan side - which is fine. There is a desk with a couple of AC outlets, plus an entertainment center/media box. I connected my iPad to the HDMI input and the box auto-switched the HD TV input and I then watched a movie on the wall mounted flat panel HD TV. The room had a mini-fridge, coffee maker, alarm clock. AC worked well. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is almost no parking at this hotel. There are about 10 parking spots out back. Best bet is to park in the pay parking garage across the street from the hotel. Limited snacks and breakfast food options are available. The hotel also has WXYZ Bar - which will be reviewed separately.

Yelp
In many ways, the Aloft downtown Minneapolis is close enough, and just far enough away. The location is downtown, but outside of the core of downtown. Although, very convenient to the light rail from the US Bank stadium - it is still a good 1+ mile walk to the main "core downtown" of Minneapolis. With that in mind, the place is a classic Aloft - with the REO Speedwagon meets Journey meets the Stones meets Billy Idol - cool, but a little off at the same time. Close enough, but . . . Now, I can't end my review with that dangling participle - the place is good. Solidly good. I was treated very well by the staff. The management always seemed to be at, or near, the front desk and were super accommodating. The room was a standard Aloft room - nice, but a bit minimalist. The lounge area was also taken straight from central casting of Aloft hotels and had the compulsory pool table, bar with uncomfortable stools and limited draught pours on offering. However, with that said - the bar had a nice selection of local craft beers and a super friendly staff. All and all, I'd stay here again. The location - with proximity to the running trail along the river and a short walk to the light rail - far make-up for the distance to the downtown restaurants and attractions.

Yelp
I really like the Aloft Hotel. Great rates for a longer stay in town and the access to the area is amazing. First off visit in the summer because you will get much more out of the experience. Check out the area on the internet so you know what to visit. Mill City district is the perfect getaway. You have access to 15+ bars and restaurants within a few blocks. Mill City Park is the back door of the place and you can take a walk across the river on the stone arc bridge. Across the river is a whole new gem that has amazing view across the city. I like aloft because it's all right there and the hotel is extremely accommodating. Lounge downstairs has music and a look table. Ping pong and many other games available. Make sure to check out the bar with some classic cocktails with a twist. Very happy with this place I will be back.

Yelp
If there's one thing that's necessary in Minneapolis it's heat! Soooo not so happy when the heat in my room at the Aloft just decides to stop working. The smart thing to do would probably have been to call downstairs and ask them to come up and fix my heat. But I decide to bundle up (nothing like sleeping in a jacket) because it's already 3AM, I don't want a hotel employee in my room in the middle of the night, and i have to wake up in 4 hours to catch an early flight. I just want sleep...even if it feels like I'm sleeping outside in negative degree weather. 4 hours later I check out of the hotel and am a bit worried I may get pneumonia from my night in the arctic. The nice man at the check-out desk notices the icicles in my hair and blue skin...and says he isn't going to charge me for my night sans heat. I'm still cold, but the nice customer service warms my heart. Sticking with my 4 stars since the employees at this hotel could not be nicer. And I'm a big fan of the gym, spacious rooms, the bliss products, and the price is right. But I'm never returning to the Aloft Minneapolis in the winter unless they promise me some heat! PS: Valet parking would be nice too! Parking in the attached garage late at night was a bit freaky...

Yelp
Overall a great place to stay! The staff is super friendly from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. They are very welcoming. Amazing location too! The rooms are the only thing I have to take a start off for. The bathroom doors don't close all the way - take what you want away from that comment. The TV channels...wait, there aren't any. The beds are comfortable though and the rooms are very efficient. I'll certainly stay here again
google avatar

Yelp
Great location! It is walkable to a ton of stuff. Also, the light rail is a 5 minute walk away so it's very convenient to take the train to other parts of the city. The hotel has a fun, funky vibe. It's got a cool hotel bar with a good happy hour, and they have live performances in there some nights. The room was clean and I really liked how it was laid out. The beds face the windows so you get a nice view.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to plan a "staycation" in the area and chose the Aloft Minneapolis due to our past experiences at this property being really great. We had stayed here a couple times back in early 2009 when it was a brand new property and always wanted to stay again. For the most part it was still a great stay, though the property is showing some age after 9 years of being open. The fun liquid filled floor in one of the elevators was missing a piece. That was something I noticed on my way to the room, which I would hope is in the process of getting repaired. For all I know it has been missing for a few years, who knows, but I assume it is in the process of being repaired. The rooms looked exactly how I remembered them. The only thing that would have made the room better would be some minor updates. The TVs were aging and the picture quality was not as good as it could be. Other than that, the beds are very comfortable and the amenities are a great value. The W XYZ bar had great bartenders and a great selection of drinks. The hotel has a free shuttle that will take you anywhere in a 5 mile radius of the hotel, which is a nice perk. Parking can be kind of annoying, as they only have a few "first come" spaces in their lot so most likely you will have to park in the ramp across the street, but that is no big deal to me. Overall, this is still one of my favorite hotels in the city in a great location by the Guthrie and other local hot spots and I highly recommend it. Knowing the "life cycles" of hospitality properties and the importance of the still growing Aloft brand to their parent company, I think that room refreshes are coming in the near future to this property so stop by and give them a stay!

Eric M.

Yelp
Would be ok if you were staying alone, terrible If you are with someone. Lights won't turn on unless you turn them all on first. Mini fridge didn't work. Bathroom door doesn't close. No ledge or anywhere to put anything in the shower. No hair dryer in room. Room is smallest I've ever seen. No maid service offered. Cool view of the stadium though.

Yelp
I have stayed in this hotel three times in my life. I find this hotel to be a high quality place to stay, whether it is for a vacation or a staycation. The appearance of it is high end. Based on looking at it, one can safely assume that the price per night is higher than average. Those who guess that would be correct. The price of the rooms per night is worth the quality. I do not mind paying extra for a high quality experience. When I am in the mood to do that, this is a great choice for such. I would describe the interior to be extravagant with a little bit of fun mixed into it. The fun part comes from the fun colors that are put in the designs and the rooms. I have been in high end places that were high in quality but low in personality. This is not necessarily a bad quality to have in a place, but this hotel has that personality. The features come from the photos, the wall designs, the signs, the bed sheets, and the lights. For some reason, I always have fun looking at the little details as much as I do the big ones. The employees appear to have a good eye on cleanliness and order. Every time I have stayed here, I have seen nothing but neat and clutter-free rooms. Everything has been cleaned and organized like a hotel should be. I have never encountered any major messes or anything that should not be in a hotel room. Therefore, I have always felt comfortable walking in here and staying a night or two. The employees are always friendly and accommodating. Although I have never asked for any major requests, I have still noticed how they are with their customers. Although they are not usually up for any short conversations during their slow times, they are always pleasant to be around. This lack of conversation from them is not necessarily a bad thing because they have always acted professional. I have noticed this same quality with their other customers. The only reason I docked one star from the rating is because the mattress is not the softest. It is not hard as a rock either, but it is not the most comfortable. I always find myself having to warm up to it before I am completely comfortable. Being warmed up to it the second I lie on it would make me rate this hotel the full five stars. I hope that management and ownership read this paragraph and take this part into consideration. When I am in the mood for a vacation or a staycation, I will continue keeping this place in mind. I feel like I can always count on them for outstanding customer service.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Upscale with nice vibe. Live music in the bar tonight with many local brews on the menu. What else I do you need?

Yelp
So glad we didn't pay full price for this place. (We booked with Hotwire) It felt like a dorm room. The beds were rock hard, and super low to the ground, the bathroom looked fancy from a first glance but the shower flooded the entire bathroom after a normal use because there was nothing separating the toilet area to the shower on the floor. You could hear everything because of the thin walls. The shower had BLISS body wash and shampoo dispensers, that was pretty nice I guess. The staff wasn't very welcoming either, it was almost like you were an annoyance when you had any questions. Have fun trying to find a parking spot in their "guest parking" there's like 10 spots and they're first come first serve. I would have much rather stayed at a Holiday Inn or a Best Western

Yelp
We stayed at the Aloft 6 years ago and it was fabulous. Guess what? They have not done anything to it since then. Everything is worn out and shabby. The carpets, tables in lobby are chipped and worn and the entire hotel smells. I always carry some aromatherapy with me and even that couldn't get rid of the stale, funky smell in our room. Yuck!

Yelp
No complaints or concerns at all for our most recent stay. I've been to this location a number of times and just recently we were able to get an accessible room as they had extras which was just the spare room we needed to stash our bicycles inside. The lobby lounge was accommodating and cozy in the evenings and carts were readily available for our luggage. The location is nice along the park but the hotel is situated a little outside the heart of downtown. That said, it's very walkable or bikeable with a rental bike station just outside.

i stayed there on Feb 11 2023 the motel was fine the only problem i have is the restaurant was closed and the other that that made me mad was the parking in the ramp that cost me thirty seven dollars for over night parking i think the motel should help pay for that i wasn't going to park 3 blocks from my motel on some side street i didn't know i hope the motel will be nice and help me with a little kick back on the parking in the ranp

Yelp
I've stayed in this Aloft several times and loved it. But I'm writing this review about the one time I didn't stay there because they were completely booked. I am usually a planner, but for some reason decided not to book ahead this time. It's a Wednesday, so surely it won't be too busy, right? Wrong. Aloft was all booked. The Aloft front desk agent spent 20 minutes of his time calling other hotels to find us something. Everything was booked, except one on the other side of downtown (a competing brand). And Aloft graciously offered to give us a ride over there! Such great customer service.

Yelp
UPDATED! They DO provide dog beds and bowls, you just have to ask. Another great stay here, might become my go-to hotel whenever we visit the Twin Cities. **PREVIOUS REVIEW** My husband, my dog, and myself all had a wonderful time staying at the Aloft Minneapolis. We booked a room over 4th of July weekend so downtown was busy, busy, busy. We were able to find a parking spot a block away from the hotel to check in. Luckily, it was a "free parking day" from the city so we didn't have to pay, but considering we're used to Chicago parking prices, the $1 or whatever they were charging would have been handed over with no animosity. We checked in and got to our room. It was the perfect size for the three of us. However, I was under the impression that they would provide a dog bed and bowl for our corgi but nope. That's okay, since we brought some extra bedding for him and plopped it down the corner of the room. The bed was super comfy. The water pressure in the shower was awesome and refreshing after a long, hot day of exploring. We didn't get a chance to check out the bar or the outside space but they looked inviting. Maybe next time. Besides the shrieking children running around in the halls, the hotel was nice and quiet. I'm sure it's even quieter when there aren't giant bombs of colourful fire raining doom upon our heads in Gold Medal Park across the street. Parking overnight sucks. The parking lot attendant gave us the impression that we would be validated by the hotel and get free parking but that is not the case. You have to purchase a parking package when you book your hotel. Otherwise, it's $10 for overnight. Again, compared to Chicago, that's PRACTICALLY FREE! There isn't a lot of privacy in the bathroom, though. So turn up the TV or wait outside if your travel partner is a particularly loud pooper.

Yelp
We stayed here on two different occasions over the past couple of years, and have had two great experiences. The first time was in the summer of 2014, and we had a view facing that gorgeous, crisp, and fresh Gold Medal Park. The second was for the holiday season 2015, and we had a room facing Washington Avenue and that awesome new US Bank Stadium. You also get a partial view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline, which is quite pretty at night. Pros of this hotel: * Not pretentious * Affordable * Has a pool and a whirlpool * A decent fitness center with just the basics * The lobby smells amazing * Affordable breakfast and lunch items for purchase in the lobby * Large windows that make for bright rooms and good views * Easy access to Interstates 35W and I94 * Easy access to downtown Minneapolis Cons of this hotel: * The only thing that really bothers me lack of space to put your clothes. * You have to hang them in a fashion that's not sideways, like most closets, and you're very limited with the space * There are also no drawers to store anything. * I feel like there's really adequate room in the rooms to put some additional storage, so I think they should just go for it - give us storage! I mean, we did live out of our suitcases and made due with the small hanger area, but that could be improved indeed. We booked the room using a special birthday offer rate, where you pay full price the first night, then the next two nights you pay your birth year, so we payed somewhere between $60-$70 a night for our second and third nights, based on my husband's birth year. Notice how cleverly I disguised his birth year? Parking can be a little tricky. There's no hotel garage, but there is a garage located on 9th and Washington, right next door; that's where we park. The daily rate isn't really insane, and my husband and I split the cost, so it's a fairly easy pill to swallow. There is a small lot, which we've never tried taking advantage of. I just read another Yelper's review and learned that there are some dedicated, complimentary hotel parking spots, so do try to check those out. We really come here because we like the vibe at this place, the general aesthetic of the hotel and rooms, and we do like their pool area, a lot. The pool isn't very large, and I'm not a big lap swimmer, but its a nice, warm space to relax and take a dip. The WXYZ Bar is cool, and on our first visit, we invited friends and family to come hang in the bar area, which worked really well. As long as they keep this place in clean, tip-top shape, we'll continue to stay here, because, hey, Aloft, you're A-Ok.

Yelp
Good location for the US Bank Stadium. Clean. Staff is courteous and friendly. The room did have a "loft" feel, complete with mattress on a board on the floor. Felt like I was back in college crashing on a futon. Awful bed!!

Yelp
Great location for public transportation and being near parks like Gold Medal Park and Saint Anthony Falls and The Stone Arch Bridge. Nice ride bikes are available around the area as we'll. Staff are super friendly and accommodating to dogs. Staff also have good food delivery recommendations. The hotel is in walking distance to Penny's coffee, wasabi, Day block brewing and many other eatery and drinking establishments. I have stayed here five separate times and mainly because I can travel with my dog.

Yelp
Aloha! Andrea R was not kidding when she warned me about all of the Aloha greetings I would get when I entered Aloft... It took me a second to process this when I came in, and I couldn't decide if I should reply with an "aloha" as well, or if "hello" would be ok. I think I went with "hello." But I digress... My two night stay at Aloft was wonderful. The employees were friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, my Verizon card worked in my room so I could work at the desk without any problem, the 'Fuel' café had plenty of breakfast and snack options, the 'Recharge' gym met my workout needs, the location seemed fine, and the price was right! Extra bonus is that I get Starwood points - yay! I hope that Aloft will expand as it's a perfect option for those that have the taste of a 'W' and the budget of something a little less. I know that if I return to MSP or any other city with Aloft, I will not hesitate to stay there again... aloha and all!

Yelp
Great location for everything in downtown. Parking across the street was a bit weird but it's in a good neighborhood so felt safe. Simple hotel has bar downstairs and some other fun amenities got a great price through Hotwire made it a real steal. Would stay again for the right price.

Yelp
I dig the fancy-dancy chic style of W hotels. Aloft was no exception. The rooms were sassy with crisp lines and a welcoming stash of local magazines (is it okay that I took one for the road? a little late to ask now...) Pros of Aloft: -close proximity to tram from airport -sassy interior -fair price -free wifi -lotion that'll leave your legs uh shining! -free shuttle around the city within 5 miles I refrained from going full out 5 stars for two reasons: -internet difficulties - fabulous that it was free but I suppose that only counts if it is working (please note that management was very apologetic and tried very hard to fix the problem for our group) -loud air conditioners in rooms (I am a crazy-light sleeper, so every hour or so this beast of a unit would crank back on waking moi up) Dear Indy, Where's our W hotel? hmmm... tick tock. tick tock.

Yelp
I never knew that Aloft hotels were part of the W, but as soon as I walked in, smelt the Bliss bath products in the air and noticed the XYZ Bar, it all made sense. I booked my two-night rezzie online (using my Starwood Preferred Guests membership) just days before and paid $127 per night (a modest rate for a boutique hotel in town). The room size was perfect, I had my big plush king bed, free Wi-Fi, free bottled waters in the room, complimentary morning coffee in the AM, HD TV, friendly check-in and staff. So why the average star rating? My first night I fell fast asleep, but Friday night (technically 3:30am on Saturday), there was an all-night dance party on the patio. And the walls are paper thin. I could hear all the crazy drunk fools running through the halls. And the elevator sound. The bathroom offers Bliss bath products which I absolutely LOVE. Except I'm not a fan of shampoo-conditioner combo. Dries out the hair. And since I packed super light for this trip, I didn't bring any of my own (which I always do). I also always am sure to bring my blow-dryer, but again, left it at home. The hotel blow-dryer was great at first - blowing hot, fast air, but it kept going out, as well as burning out multiple sockets. I had to go to the airport with sopping wet hair. This hotel also has a great gym, a pool, printing and flight check-in station, a bumpin' lounge scene (music is a few decibels too loud), and airport town car service for $40. I'd certainly stay at Aloft again, but I'd be sure to request a room away from the elevators and possibly with views of the park.

Yelp
This hotel is a bit confusing - it tries to give an high-end appeal yet in actuality just an average hotel. Pros: Public areas and lounge decor are beautiful and modern. Friendly staff. Shower/bathroom/bedroom are all very clean and new. (hopefully they keep it up as the hotel ages) Cons: Thin walls- I could hear people watching TV next door and people laughing,etc... I would imagine such new hotel would come with a better sound proof walls. Heater - It was extremely loud, especially at nighttime when it keeps on turning on and off while you're trying to fall asleep. I seriously thought about turning the heater off completely, but it was 26F outside...so I opted insomnia rather than freeze to death~ One interesting thing I noticed ... the "standard" rate by the door listed "$799/person; $999 for 3 people, etc.." Who would stay here for $799 per night? or they want to think we're getting a good deal and saved us $600 bucks? funny... I don't think I'll stay in any Aloft, unless they offer another quadruple bonus starwood points + cheap rates.

Yelp
Really fun Hotel. Lots going on in the lobby, fun and inclusive bar, great games and cozy atmosphere. The rooms are clean, organized and well thought out. Great use of space. No microwave however, or fridge, but great bed and linens and comfy desk chair. Shower is great, but the frosted glass peek a boo glass is a little odd since you can see it from the main space. I will absolutely stay here again, and totally recommend it. Front desk staff was really friendly as well.

Yelp
We were semi-regulars at Aloft Milwaukee a couple years ago, and seeing that there was an Aloft in Minneapolis while on vacation, I booked a room. Same good deal on the room, same pet-friendly policy, same good entertainment options on site, same stylin' lodging. Much cheaper parking. Aloft Minneapolis was quite friendly, and we even spent some time hanging on the patio on a beautiful night. There aren't a ton of options as far as restaurants/shopping within walking distance, but there is a bar with good burgers (Grumpy's) and another spot I would have liked to try for dining, which made a great drink stop (Maxwell's American Pub).

Yelp
My husband and I are in town for business and we wanted a hotel that wasn't quite in the middle of the city but wasn't completely out of walking distance from restaurants and shops. This hotel has a modern feel and doesn't really give off the traditional hotel feel. The service staff are super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is really good too, however, be prepared because it's a little pricey for what you get. The price of the rooms isn't too bad considering this is a pretty nice hotel. Our room was very clean and crisp, they definitely have some really good cleaning staff. Another plus is that they are pet-friendly. If I was going to give a thumbs down for anything, it would be that the beds are pretty hard but not unbearable. Overall, this was a great hotel and experience.

Yelp
Room was ready on arrival with only a short wait. I found the beds uncomfortable with my bad back and a little difficult to get into and out of due to their low stance. The beds don't come above my knees. Washroom door is a sliding door which is fine except it does not close entirely. This leaves a 2 inch gap. If you are sharing the room with someone it becomes a little bit revealing. Location is good.

Yelp
We had a great experience at this hotel. We stayed here for two nights for a wedding. The staff was VERY friendly. Even when we were being slightly noisy at 2 in the morning in the lobby, they were nice (we weren't bothering anybody or anything). The rooms were very clean. Be sure to ask for one facing away from the street. We had a lovely park view. The only problem with noise was that we were near the staircase, so we'd hear that door shut a lot. The bed was very comfortable, and the mounted flat screen TV was nice. They had complimentary bottled water, coffee, and tea in the room. There were bliss products for the shower and sink. They offer lots of different "packages" for toiletries and games and other knick-knacks. I forgot deodorant, so I bought a pack with deodorant, a razor, and a mini shaving cream for $7. Definitely over-priced, but convenient. There is also a great bar with a great happy hour downstairs, and pool, board games, and a Giant Connect 4! There is free wi-fi and two computers you can use downstairs. I think two nights on Expedia was about $240. Parking was $15 which was lame. I'd probably return to aloft locations.

Yelp
Limited parking lot that's free. If that runs out, you can park at the other businesses' spots after hour. And worst comes to worst, there's metered parking and another lot nearby for a small fee. I stayed here during a weekend in March and it was a nice experience. The bedroom is very spacious and I really like the layout of the bathroom. It was clean and I like the standing shower with glass doors. The lobby offers pool and shuffleboard that my friends and I played at to kill time. It is a bit away from the heart/downtown Minneapolis so you'll have to taxi or drive if you want to enjoy the night out. If if weather is warm enough, you can actually walk about a mile or so to the local bars and clubs. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I love the decors throughout the hotel and checking in/out was hassle free.

Yelp
I made a reservation 4 months ago and had to cancel it because we couldn't find anyone to take care of grandma who has Alzheimer's. We were trying to give my mother-in-law a break since she is the sole caretaker. I canceled a week prior and they kept full payment on two rooms only to sell them to someone else. It should be criminal to collect two payments for the same room. Maybe a class-action suit. Their customer service basically said "screw you, have a nice day".

Yelp
Hard bed No breakfast No microwave No privacy Cramped rooms Cheap design Turning the light on in the bathroom lights the whole room The bathroom has no privacy. You almost have to shower in front of your family or friends due to a see- through panel that shines light thru. Paid parking. Crusty, cheap towels. No extras. More expensive than most. Loud rooms. Verdict: not a dirty dump, but definitely not a comfy stay. Kind of a rip, but not the worst of the worst.
