I stayed at the Aloft in New Orleans for a convention, and I have to say it was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve been to. Every time I returned to my room, it was spotless—whether I had left towels on the floor or just small items out, housekeeping always had everything refreshed. That’s the kind of service you hope for and truly appreciate in a good hotel.
The hotel has a rooftop pool, which is a nice feature, but it is on the smaller side. I didn’t use the gym, so I can’t speak to that, but given how much walking I did around the city, I didn’t find it necessary.
There are a couple of downsides worth mentioning. First, the incidental hold is $150, which feels a bit steep compared to other hotels especially considering this isn’t a resort area. For comparison, I’ve paid lower deposits at hotels near Disneyland. To be fair, it’s just a temporary hold and was refunded after my stay, but it’s something guests should be aware of. Second, there’s no complimentary breakfast. While not a dealbreaker, it’s always a nice perk when hotels include it.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel. As long as you don’t mind the $150 refundable deposit and the small pool, the cleanliness, service, and convenience make it a solid choice for a stay in New Orleans.
