We visited Aloha Aina Juice Cafe on Thursday, Oct 28th. We wanted to squeeze in one last acai bowl on our last morning in Hawaii (and right before our flight back home) and I was so thankful that we got to do so!
We came around 10 am and there weren't many people. We took a little bit to decide on what to get because everything looked so yummy!
I decided to order the Niu to try something different since it sounded unique and it doesn't look like we have something like this back in socal.
The following is the description from the menu:
Niu (Coconut) Base layered with granola, coconut flakes and haupia (coconut pudding) topped with banana, mango, papaya and honey - Keiki $8.25
Annddd let me tell you, the Niu was AMAZING and lived up to its hype haha. I loved the coconut pudding on top, which was nice, soft, and sweetened to perfection. It kind of reminded me of almond pudding but with a creamy coconut instead. It balanced out the fruity base layer and added to the differing textures with the blend of acai, granola, and coconut shavings. The Niu tasted unique and was def different than the traditional acai bowls that you can get anywhere. It was a refreshing treat on a warm, rainy day haha! My sister in law even said that it was one of her fave 'meals' in Kauai lol
One random thing was before I got my bowl, I heard one of the staff in the back tip the bowl over (on the table) and all the toppings came off. Of course that was my bowl ... so it came back lookin a lil rough around the edges but was oh so tasty.
Also, they were giving out free avocados, which I thought was such a nice gesture. Our family picked a few for the little kiddos to eat.
All in all, if I come back to Kauai, I will definitely be back! :')
