Aloha Express Hawaiian BBQ

Fast, fresh and friendly. We wanted fish on a Friday and this place did not disappoint. Reasonable price for the amount of food. We each had enough for leftovers. Rice was perfectly cooked. Fish and shrimp were lightly breaded and simply flavored. Counter service was fast and the table service was just as quick. She explained what each meal was and the side sauces to go with it. They also have a catering menu that is very reasonably priced. Restrooms were incredibly clean and accessible. Table and window bar seating was relatively comfortable. If the weather was nicer we would have sat outside.

My visit to Aloha Express Hawaiian BBQ was awesome! Went to the counter, asked a couple of questions, and decided on the Chicken Katsu...I'm glad I did not get any appetizers. The meal they serve is HUGE and as you can see where I separated the chicken from the rice & pasta...there's a bunch of food. The chicken is moist and tender, with a crispy crunch from the breading. I dipped in the katsu sauce and what a combination...the sweet with the chicken was perfect. I really enjoyed this dish! The fried rice...cooked perfectly and plenty of it. The pasta salad is very interesting, and I knew immediately what made it different and special...the addition of tuna. I could not finish this meal and there was plenty to take home. Notice the cake counter...these are all made locally and look delicious...maybe next time. I met Jenny (one of the owners) who took my order and chatted with me a bit later on...very sweet lady and you can tell she is excited to bring this to Murfreesboro. What I really noticed...she really cares for her customers and is teaching this to her staff too! Great food and excellent service...took me way too long to visit this spot.

From the decor, to the beautiful Hawaiian music quietly being played in the background. Occasionally they have people who come and play live music. Every visit to this location, the feeling I get when I walk through the door is like I'm being welcomed by friends. My favorite dish is the Hawaiian chicken. OMG... how did I stumble upon the old owners of another restaurant I grew to love!!! They now own this fabulous spot, which is the ONLY Hawaiian BBQ in middle TN. If you haven't tried it, get over here.....you won't be disappointed. Finger licking good, with great portions. Enough for leftovers to enjoy later!!! Yesterday I had their short rib plate that includes white rice (fried for a small upcharge), cabbage + broccoli, and macaroni salad, served with a side of yum yum and teriyaki. Run on over here.....come check them out. Another location coming soon I hear! The staff is supper friendly, the cooks throw down, and the establishment is great for dine in or carry out.

While the space is small, it’s decorated cute and the workers are SO nice. I got the chicken teriyaki and it was good. I like how they have a little sauce station where you can get different sauces. The dumplings were okay, but very crunchy and veggie filled. My brother enjoyed his steak dish. It was very busy, with no seating and a line out the door the entire time we were there!

This place slaps. Servers, hosts and the owner are super nice. Food is delicious and fair priced. Reminds me of a good L&L Drive In on the big island. I had the chicken combo plate with katsu and teriyaki. Scoop of Mac salad, two scoops of rice with veggies. Spam musubis to take home for breakfast tomorrow. Super excited this spot is in Murfreesboro! Many Mahalos!!!

Amazing Food and Wonderful Service at Aloha Express! If you're looking for authentic and delicious Hawaiian BBQ, look no further! My husband and I were absolutely blown away by the food at Aloha Express. I ordered the Shrimp and BBQ Chicken Combo, and everything was top-notch. The BBQ chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful—easily a highlight. The shrimp were large, juicy, and perfectly cooked. For sides, I appreciated getting both the fried rice and white rice, which I generously drizzled with their yummy, signature yum-yum type sauce. They also offer teriyaki and katsu sauces, which were also great! A true standout was the appetizer: the crab rangoon. We shared an order, and they were honestly some of the best I've ever had—crispy, creamy, and packed with filling. Beyond the incredible food, the owner and staff were so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely kind. The warm atmosphere just added to the whole experience. We highly, highly recommend this new Murfreesboro gem!
