If you are in the area, you gotta go! THE best shave ice we’ve ever had. On top of it, it’s made with organic ingredients. Cute little shop just down the road from Akaka falls. Local handmade goods in an authentic shop. Small treats and drinks too. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to our next visit.

The ice cream was very good. But the cost and amount did not correlate with each other. Mr Ed's down the street gave you almost twice the amount for less cost. With that said, i love ice cream so i bought from both places. At the end of the day it is ice cream. This place definitely has a better atmosphere than the other. Just wished they put a bit more ice cream in the dish. Oh, and this place also offers a small cup of water for free so there is that aspect, which was nice.

Definitely recommend stopping here if you’re heading to Akaka Falls! Generously sized açaí bowls and then even have gluten free granola available :)

1000% the best burger you can get anywhere on the island. Chef Cody's special sauce and bun to patty ratio is perfect. I've been searching for a burger for many years and finally have found it! Gotta try their matcha latte and other coffee drinks, they're all great!

Friendly employees and tasty Kula shaved ice. What they have (coffee and shaved ice) is good, but I wouldn't call it enough to qualify as a "general store". Minus 1 star because they charge 3.5% extra for credit card usage.

Absolutely amazing shaved ice and coffee. This was the first shaved ice we had that felt refreshing and natural. They make all their own syrups from real fruit and you can tell. Super friendly staff. Recommend stopping by on your way to Akaka!

Great little stop for a treat! We both got an açaí bowl and added some fruit on top. They were both so delicious and filling. We loved all the toppings it came with. Great service too!

Their shaved ice was just what we needed after Akaka Falls! The texture was so soft, you wouldn’t believe it was made from ice shavings. This is a located on a cute block of stores and food places a few minutes from Akaka Falls. They also offer free WiFi, which was helpful as cell signal was spotty here.

The owners and staff are so sweet. The shave ice is amazing bc their syrups are wholesome and homemade, just a simple and delicious treat that is more elevated than your run-of-the-mill commercial syruped shave ice. The haupia cream is to die for as a topping. Next to try is the açaí bowl. The outdoor seating is super chill with some partial shade to keep cool in the heat. No fuss no muss. I always look forward to grabbing a treat with my kiddos when we are in town, thank you!!

Really great shaved ice and very refreshing after a visit to the Falls. Aloha General uses all natural ingredients and you can taste it in the product. This was the best shaved ice we had on Kona and maybe the best shaved ice of our trip. Highly recommended! It's a very nice shop also in a nice vintage looking strip of stores.

BEST SMASH BURGER EVER!! So flavorful and unique. An absolute must have!! You can tell every burger is made with love and Aloha! A women named Michelle made our burgers with pride! All the staff were helpful, and friendly l ! Don't forget to try the shave ice!! We had the sour sap and pineapple!! Sooooo good and refreshing!

We stopped in after visiting Akaka Falls, and it was the perfect treat after a short hike! It was really nice to meet the owners. They're super friendly. They serve Kula Shave Ice and the açaí bowl was amazing! The granola is so crunchy and delicious and homemade. My son got a mango shave ice and I also grabbed a jar of lehua honey. The shop is small but they have lots of seating outside in a covered area. There is street parking in front of the stores.

Loved my açaí bowl! Perfect place to stop by before or after the Akaka Falls (I chose after because I like a sweet treat as a reward). The macadamia nuts were delicious and provided a wonderful crunch! The açaí was more frozen than other açaí bowls I've had before but I liked it better that way because it lasted a lot longer before melting. They also had coffees and shave ice that looked tempting.

A fun little treat on our drive back from Akaka Falls. The magic shell with coconut is my husband's love language, so the Hapa was perfect for him. I was pleasantly surprised by "The Local". The coconut cream on top really sealing in the delicious flavors of the 2 syrups! Check this place out when roaming the big island!

The best shave ice! They have natural flavors and it's a great family run shop. They have plenty of outdoor seating, perfect for people watching. The family who runs it were so accommodating and had great recommendations. It was the perfect treat after going to the waterfall.

Best shaved ice of my life. I got The Local and it was mind-blowingly good. The staff was also super conscientious of my mac nut allergy (steering me clear of anything that might have cross-contamination). Thank you for treating us like locals! We were recommended by Steve from the Orchid Tree B&B. Great businesses run in the family! Can't wait for a return trip.

Really great shave ice, especially the local flavors. Fresh, tasty, and organic. A great place to stop after visiting the falls. But above all great staff, who helped our family out of a bind & went well above and beyond!
