We had a great stay here! Our room was so sunny and cozy. Lots of outdoor space and a wonderful common area. Sue, the owner, and Quinton, the property manager, were gracious and accommodating. Our breakfast was spectacular. A word on the rooster noise in response to other comments, you will be hard pressed not to have this experience if you choose a more country setting here. This has happened to us several times in various settings during our week here in Hawaii. I always travel with ear plugs.

Many thanks to Quentin and everyone who takes care of this cool old house. We had to call last minute as we messed up our reservation elsewhere. It was great to get a last minute room and then we were impressed by the house, the comfort of the room and the breakfast was really good.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Aloha Junction Guesthouse as part of a long-anticipated second honeymoon. Our room was the Nene Goose Suite. We could not have asked for a better stay.||Upon arrival, we were all smiles. Seeing the big peacock statue at the gate and then driving into the garden-lined parking area made us feel welcome and relaxed. The yard is filled with beautiful plants and flowers and is very well-maintained. I was even followed around by a small peacock as we unloaded.||The room itself was very spacious and had a locking door we could go through to access the common areas of the house (which were thoughtfully appointed and comfortable) as well as the door out to the lanai which was shared with guests from the room next door but was very spacious.||The shower head was powerful and there was plenty of hot water but it took a couple minutes to warm up. The bath products provided were very good and had natural scents.||There was a small breakfast of French toast, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and jam in the fridge which was more than enough for us on the first morning.||The bed was soft and cozy and I did not want to get out in the mornings. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but thanks to being at about 2500-3000 ft it is not needed so long as you keep the windows open. At night, we were serenaded by frogs (which quickly became wonderful white noise to us) and in the morning we were awakened by the local roosters.||Each evening at dusk we watched the beautiful gardens fade into gray from the comfy chairs on the lanai and each morning we were treated to what we called the rooster parades. First, the small peacock we had met came through the yard with another peacock and three peahens and a short time later a rooster and three hens crossed the yard. ||The second morning, just as we had finished breakfast, we met Bear. He is the dog that works at the Aloha Junction and is a big but very friendly boy. We let him sniff us and he let us pet him. Very good boy.||All in all, it was a great stay for the price and I would absolutely stay again as well as recommend to friends and family.

Wow, what a find! Aloha Junction is a quiet, serene & super charming place, 5 minutes from the park. We had a great nights' sleep on incredibly comfy/cozy beds, after an evening of lava- and star-gazing. Quinton, the on-site inn-keeper, is a lovely guy; he whips up an amazing breakfast. We will definitely be back. Thanks, Aloha Junction!!!

We booked a last minute unit at the Aloha Junction Guesthouse when our other hotel fell through after traveling from Japan and driving all the way up to Volcano. The owner of the Aloha Junction Guesthouse was so kind and compassionate about our situation and was able to book us in their cozy and welcoming Pele room. The King and Queen beds were very comfortable and the two full bathrooms were a nice amenity since we had 3 adults in the room. The cozy fireplace warmed up the room instantly. In the morning we enjoyed the coffee, french toast and granola that was provided. We enjoyed a delicious Thai dinner in town as well. We will definitely be back!

It is off the beaten path and sets down a long driveway, so there's no traffic noise. There is a rooster that starts growing around 0430. The room was large, with a king and queen size beds, and it also had two bathrooms. It also had a kitchenette. The only complaint was the walls being paper thin with no soundproofing. You can clearly hear the neighbors talking.

First I wasn't aware until I'd reserved our two night stay that there was no real breakfast to be had. Secondly we stayed in the Paniola Suite. It was a very tight bedroom wtih a small side shower ana toliet behind a sliding door next to the bed. That door squeaked loudly in the middle of the night while makiing visits - unhappily awakening my wife. The only sink was also in a narrow cubby hole in the wall opposite the foot of the bed. It doubled as a "kitchen" and bathroom sink. Towel / wash cloth hanging space was deficient. The $80 cleaning fee for our two nights in this small space was exhorbitant. After the stay, I gave up trying to find a picture of the Paniola Suite, but it was well overcharged compared to the suites pictured. |All that said: it was quiet, clean, and the king sized bed was comfortable, but we would never want to stay there again

We spent 2 nights there. You never get to see the owners, although they live on the property. You have to check in yourself. So would have been nice to be welcomed and get to know them. Had breakfast in the fridge for once. This was not refilled. Unfortunately the rooms are not that clean, there was still a hair from the previous guest in the bathroom. It also smelled very damp and unpleasant. It is a pity that the beautiful kitchen cannot be used (or only with permission). The rooms are very noisy. However, the guesthouse is very charmingly furnished and cared for with great attention to detail. Too bad, we were really hoping for a good stay. However, the location cannot be beaten. The guesthouse is right next to the nationalpark.
