Neighbourhood spotlight: Phrom Phong, Bangkok - SilverKris

"One of Phrom Phong’s clandestine speakeasies, discreetly sited amid condos and mansions and co-owned by a neighbourhood operator, offering intimate cocktails and a secretive, local vibe." - RC Owen

If you are looking for an authentic musical experience, Alonetogether is a true hidden gem for jazz lovers in Bangkok. The Atmosphere & Vibe Located right next to Chenin restaurant, this bar is small and intimate, with an entrance that can be easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Once inside, you are greeted by a beautifully decorated space that not only looks stunning but also has a wonderful signature scent. The seating is cozy, featuring classic wood and rattan elements that set a sophisticated tone. The Music & Rules The quality of the live jazz here is exceptional. To ensure the best experience for everyone, the bar maintains a strict policy: guests are asked to speak softly while the band is performing so that the music remains the focus. It is the perfect spot for those who truly want to listen and appreciate the craft of the musicians. Drinks & Service The drink menu is well-curated with high-quality offerings that complement the soulful environment. Whether you are there for a classic cocktail or something more adventurous, the service and presentation match the bar's upscale yet moody aesthetic. Parking Information Just like the neighboring restaurant, parking can be found nearby. Valet Parking: Available at OFTR Bar. Cost: 100 Baht.

This is a very small bar, but the drinks are great, and most importantly, it’s truly a bar for people who genuinely love jazz. I’m not sure about the parking situation, as I didn’t drive, but it’s likely to be a bit challenging. The bar is tucked away between Chenin and another shop, with a small, almost hidden entrance. One important thing to note: if you’re coming to listen, please be mindful of noise — everyone here is present to truly experience the jazz. The atmosphere feels just like an underground jazz bar in New York.

Great little jazz spot in Bangkok! Such a cozy bar with an excellent cocktail menu. A real nice place to spend some time with a night cap. Reservations HIGHLY recommended if you actually want to see the musicians. If you don’t care about the jazz that much, there is a bar upstairs with plenty of room and the same great service. Also we found the downstairs seating cleared out after the musicians first break, so you’d probably have better luck snagging a seat downstairs if you show up around 22.00 (jazz starts at 21.00).

Awesome jazz bar! Cocktails were exceptional. Musicians were great, definitely an intimate setting but great spot if you love jazz. Cocktails range from 420-580 baht but are very quality.

Super narrow yet surprisingly cosy This is my 3rd time coming here, They do maintained their standard. 👏🏼👏🏼 Easily the best live-jazz sound I’ve heard in bangkok (full, warm, no echo at all) Cocktails sit around 420+ but they’re genuinely delicious and feel worth the spend. Singers are insanely talented. This place is more of a full experience than just another bar. Perfect for date nights and soaking up the atmosphere. Honestly not great for families or anyone who wants to chat through the night.

The WORST Jazz bar I’ve ever been to. This is NOT a place to enjoy music — the venue is long and super narrow, with the stage area at the end of a hallway-like space (that’s where you’ll be sitting) and they pack audience next to/in front of each other to maximize the number of people they can fit in there (the space is literally a hallway!!) But the worst is where the stage is placed —- right next to the stage area is the staircase leading upstairs. So as a result, during the performance you’ll see a constant stream of people/server moving right in front of the stage, cutting thru the audience right in front of you. Absolutely impossible to focus on the performance. If you just want to go to a cute little bar, sure, go ahead. But if you want to go for a quiet jazz night, please STAY AWAY from this place. I was so disappointed. Let’s be clear though: the musicians are very talented. It’s just the venue is horribly designed and the whole operation does not respect the experience of live music. I saw some comments saying the staff asked them to stay quiet—well, the group sitting next to me were chatting pretty loudly and nobody came to remind them to keep the volume down. I personally would actually appreciate staff enforcing the rules. But I find it so ironic that the rules appear to be respecting live music while the bar itself is set up in a way that disrupts the very experience of enjoying live music in an intimate setting.

This is a place for a cozy and relaxed night. You’ll listen to some jazz, and just enjoy the show type place. There are rules enforced to keep quiet during performance so if you’re here to chat, not the place because they will ask you to be quiet if you are even talking (not rudely of course). If you’re just wanting wind down and just people watch or listen come here. One thing is the design of the place is narrow so it’s a bit difficult to walk around sometimes. Drinks are fab by the way. But yeah I would say a very cute place.

I usually only am able to drink about 1-2 cocktails on average at a bar. But the cocktails here were so incredibly tasty that I ended up having 4-5 that night. They taste amazing & each one we ordered had such a unique flavour. On top of that, the overall bar has great jazz music & an amazing, cozy atmosphere to chill out & unwind.
