ALOR DIVING - La P'tite Kepa

La P’tite Kepa is such a special place, run by the best people - Tom and Yle! They’ve created such a relaxed, chill vibe with a communal atmosphere - great for solo travelers. I stayed 2 weeks and could have stayed longer. There are several secluded beaches within a few min walk from the resort, perfect for sunsets and stargazing! The diving is obviously amazing. The reef is stunning, with the healthiest corals I have ever seen. I didn’t know diving like this still existed! In addition to the reef, I saw grey sharks, nurse sharks, black tips, starry night octopus, bobtail squid, cuttlefish, seahorses (regular and Pygmy!), and countless fish and nudis… Tom takes great care to ensure we dive the right spots at the right times considering the currents, which can be tricky in Alor, so you’re in good hands here. Something else that makes Kepa special is that Yle and Tom are really part of the community here and are happy to share it with guests. I really enjoyed the chance to explore Alor on land in addition to all the diving. Also did I mention we saw a Pygmy blue whale on a surface interval?! 😍 I can’t wait to come back soon!

Such a wonderful stay in an area with a spectacular underwater world. Tom and Yle and all of the team are fantastic hosts!|There is a lovely atmosphere that the resort. Tom and Yle are very aware of safety of the divers, crew and the underwater environment. They are very keen to maintain and improve the underwater environment.|Diving in Alor is very challenging due to currents which are very changeable and may be very strong, not to be underestimated!|Listen to the dive briefings, which are thorough and for everyone’s safety.|The food is very varied and for someone like myself who doesn’t eat meat or bird and only certain types of seafood, I did not go hungry!|I would return in a heartbeat!

If you look for laid back vibes, frendly people, eating all on one table for the meals, excellent Indonesian cooking and top divesites you have to go here. Don't expect luxury (or running water). But the outside mandi style bathrooms with western toilets are perfectly fine for this setting.|I was in a Standard Bungalow with ensuite bathroom. Exactly what I needed. Don't go if you don't have the expected dive experience (min. 50 dives as per their website) or you have to learn to dive with strong currents from all directions real quick.

This place is an untouched piece of paradise! I just spent 7 days at La P'tite Kepa, and it has been an amazing experience. Exclusive rooms are big and comfy, with a terrace that allows you to chill while listening to the sound of the waves and all the tropical birds around. There is a beautiful private beach, 3 min walking from the resort. The water is incredible blue and crystal clear, I have never seen anything like that before! The food is delicious, locally sourced and carefully prepared by the dedicated and friendly staff, who goes out of their way to cook different and varied meals every day. But, what stands out in this place is the vibe, and how cool the people here are. I had such a fantastic stay, and I met such wonderful people, that I can only say a BIG THANK YOU to Tom and Yle, for making this vacation unforgettable! Keep up the good work guys, you are really special! Last, and not least, let's talk about the diving in Alor. This place will blow your mind! I can easily say that the reefs here are the most healthy and beautiful ones I have ever seen. Pristine hard coral, millions of fish, and a biodiversity that will satisfy even the more seasoned diver. I saw gray reef sharks, blacktips, eagle rays, humpback parrotfish, barracuda, trevallies, and tons of macro stuff as well, like ornate ghost pipefish, frog fish, seahorses, nudis, squid, cuttlefish, mantis shrimp, and many more! All of that, in 20-30+ meters visibility. Tom knows the reefs like the back of his hand, and the proper timing to dive in them, which adds great value to this place and makes the dives nice and easy. All in all, I can recommend this place 100%, and I'll be back as soon as I can! Thank you guys, cheers! Gonzalo

An unforgettable experience! The welcome was incredibly warm, and the communal atmosphere made me feel right at home. The snorkeling sites are breathtaking, and it's amazing to see the local community so fully involved in the project. Highly recommend!

Most peaceful and fun place I’ve ever stayed in. My aunt and I found this place by chance on lonely Planet. I absolutely loved it!! I loved the communal lunches, the sense of camaraderie among guests and staff and the respect that the people who manage the place have for the locals. I went diving for the first time and it could not have been any better. The reef was beautiful. Honestly it’s the best place I’ve ever stayed in in my life. The cabin was simple but comfortable and watching the sunset or catching up with people there was amazing. I would have spent my whole holiday there and would definitely go back!! Super recommend whether you’re solo, with family or with friends!!

Staying at La Petite Kepa was a wonderful experience. The resort is located in a very beautiful spot, from which the views of the channel are outstanding. If you like the peace and quiet of a remote island, this is your place, with the benefit of being just a 5min boat ride away from mainland Alor. The staff is super helpful and will adapt to any of your needs or preferences. The food is amazing, every meal is fresh and locally sourced, we had plenty of incredible fish and also many tasty vegetarian options. The ladies in the kitchen are phenomenal cooks, everything was delicious! We went there mainly for scuba diving, and we were blown away. The reefs are very healthy and vibrant, and the muck diving is great too. The diversity through the various dive sites makes it a perfect place for any type of divers. 100% recommended, I will be back!

A little piece of paradise located in the heart of the beautiful Alor archipelago. The Kepa island itself is the perfect place to relax at the beach and snorkel in the local reef. Accommodation has everything needed and the food was always diversified and delicious. The dives were always well planned and the dive sites are simply stunning in terms of marine life, healthy corals and surrounding landscapes. Everything in my stay was so perfect and I wish I could have stayed more. Thank you so much Tom and Yle for your warm welcoming and to create such a nice atmosphere, you immediately made me feel like at home !
