We stayed here for a few nights recently and, overall, enjoyed our visit. Although the hotel itself isn’t new, it’s clear that significant time and investment have gone into modernising and refurbishing it. The updated areas look stylish and contemporary while still complementing the region’s traditional character. In contrast, the sections awaiting refurbishment felt a little tired, so hopefully plans are in place to bring those up to the same standard soon.
The property offers a variety of indoor and outdoor pools. The two outdoor options are lovely: a large lap pool and a smaller hot pool. While the smaller pool features bubbles and jets, it was a bit cool for my taste. A long tunnel connects the indoor and outdoor space, a quirky detail, though it gave me more of a “nuclear bunker” vibe than a spa retreat.
The relaxation areas are a highlight, with two custom wooden huts stocked with tea and fruit, plus plenty of cosy seating. Warm blankets and soft towels enhance the atmosphere. That said, these areas close at 8 p.m., which feels early—extending the hours to at least 9 p.m. would be a welcome improvement.
It’s a pleasant hotel with thoughtful touches, but nothing truly stood out as exceptional. Considering the price and its rating, that lack of a “wow” factor was a little disappointing.
