Alpenhotel Kitzbühel am Schwarzsee

We stayed at Alpenhotel Kitzbühel for a couple of days to enjoy the beautiful setting at the Schwarzsee, and it was a lovely experience. The location is stunning, and our penthouse suite was very comfortable, featuring two bathrooms and a private sauna. Breakfast was extensive with plenty of options. We had dinner twice in the à la carte restaurant; the food was good, though service was a bit slower in the corner reserved for à la carte guests. Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a wonderful location.

The quality of the experience did not match the cost. 2.5⭐ We spent five nights in the garden suite. The room was nice. We enjoyed having a sauna directly in the room. However, we had no control over the porch light or anyway to block it despite it directly facing the bed. On nights we were exhausted and wanted to go to bed early the light made it difficult to sleep. The food was a major reason we booked the hotel. The breakfast was great, well seasoned, and offered a variety of options. However, the five course dinners were disappointing. While the dishes were well plated, most were bland and not worth finishing. Perhaps they offer too many options and instead should have limited/fixed dishes they can then perfect. The service was wildly inconsistent. Some wait staff were excellent, while others didn't seem to know what they were doing. On more than one night we were given the wrong dishes, to then have them taken to the correct table. Once they forgot to give us main courses and instead asked if we wanted dessert. When we first visited the spa, Evangelia, the masseuse, questioned if we should be there and continued to be shockingly rude when I came back for a facial. My facial by Jolanda was great. We really enjoyed the walk around the lake. However, a stay at the hotel is not necessary for this. Overall, the quality of the hotel, food, and experience do not match what they aspire to offer. It's not terrible, but it's not great either. It's just mediocre.

Quiet location, best breakfast buffet ever (fresh blueberries, mango, and raspberries), and wonderful atmosphere. Great spa and unique pool, they even have curling. Really uniquely good experience. Too bad Kitzski is not a very good place to ski (crowds and bumpy narrow slopes). Will return in summer next time.

This was our best vacation so far. The hotel is easily reachable via train and you can then reach it by foot or a free shuttle service will pick you up. The moment we arrived we felt welcomed and taken care of. The whole staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is a mix of comfort and „we can manage this for you“. They offer everything a good vacation needs: relaxation (Wellness Area, Spa) and Sports (Gym, E-Bikes). The food was a dream. We will definitely come back and can wholeheartedly recommend.

What a fantastic property, words do not even begin to described. Stayed in the Garden Suite Deluxe in the Lakeside Lodge, really loved the design of the room and the reading nook with view of the lake. Definitely made use of the in-room sauna as well. Bed was exceptionally comfortable, quite soft by European standards. Next time would probably choose a Penthouse as we could hear the people above's dog pacing.||What really sets this property apart is the food service. During your stay you have a reserved table so you just show up and go to your table. You'd really be missing out if you stayed here and did not do half board. For €15/night/person you get a 5-course meal which rotates daily and has a choice of two options for all courses except dessert. Staff was also personable and really made you feel welcome. The breakfast is also quite stunning - they have a bread room AND cheese room with a great selection to fulfill whatever your heart desires. They also have an afternoon coffee and cake service with a wide variety of patisserie to satisfy your post-ski hunger pangs. If that's not enough, there's also a self-service gelato bar that has three flavors that rotate every few days. They also have a lovely bar area with an outdoor patio for the summer months. ||There are also many activities on offer - bike rental, shuttle to the ski area, summer swimming in the lake, etc. I was a little hesitant to book the hotel since it's a little out of town, but I actually preferred this location. Plus you can walk to town quickly. We were already thinking about our next trip before we even left.

The Alpenhotel Kitzbuhel should be a 6 star hotel. The service is outstanding as always and never disappoints. The food is the highest level and the location and views are one of the most beautiful you will find. What makes it unique and a very special hotel are the hotel staff who are such a fantastic team and really do care and go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect. They all work extremely hard and are efficient, professional, and friendly. My husband and I love this place!

Hard to find something to criticize. The location probably the best in Kitzbühel with a magnificent sightsee to the lake. The aesthetic and the design of the hotel are fantastic. The personal of the hotel always kind with a smile trying and doing their best of having you satisfied all the time. Breakfast and food in general is spoiling you , hard to remember if you ever had anything like it, anything in such top quality! They offer a sense of hospitality in a warm and very pleasant way! The reception was not just there by helping you there for check -in or check- out instead was there to welcome you and spent time by showing you around and provide you with anything you may needed. Waiters were not just serving you to eat, they were providing you a pleasant dinner experience. The cleaning personal or personal at kitchen , everybody with a smile and kindness. Yes you pay for it but its worth it. And you want to go again!

We stayed at alpenhotel for 4 nights, my thoughts: - Our arrival was not as warmly received as other, similar hotels in Austria. Guy on front desk was quite cold, unfriendly in his approach. Although we'd booked a package with spa treatments ebike hire, golf buggy use, none of this was mentioned. When we had to go and ask, he was quite blunt. Rooms are OK but feel like they're trying too hard to be cool. The all glass shower which can be looked into from the bedroom with bright blue lighting felt somewhat voyeuristic for us. Food was excellent both at breakfast and evening meals, really top quality. We enjoyed everything we ate. Evening meals feel very formal and even though we were within the dress code (smart tshirts, jeans, jumpers) at times we did feel quite out of place. My advice would be take smart clothes for evenings. Drinks at dinner and at the bar felt expensive. I appreciate it's Austria and a nice hotel in a nice resort but €8+ for a standard aperol felt pricey. Mini bar in the room is very expensive considering they provide nothing complimentary. No bottled water, no snacks. In a normal hotel I'd accept this but at this price per night, I expected better. Parking is very secure and free, which is great. Hotel is a 30 min walk to the town centre, and once it goes dark you're walking with a torch for much if it. Be prepared! Overall, it felt a bit up itself. Like the place is trying really hard to be a 6* hotel but can't get past 4, and looks down on people who don't fit the mould they like to have at the hotel. We wouldn't return.
