Excellent hotel, particularly for the location and cost. I paid a very reasonable price considering it's in the middle of town, walking distance to the gondolas and right above a Coop grocery store. The owner is great, very friendly and present every day at breakfast and then at the front desk. Friendly (though in a very matter-of-fact way, presumably because he's Swiss) and informative. He made this a fun and friendly trip for an American traveling on his own for skiing.
The hotel has a ski room in the basement (bicycle room in the summer). The room felt very clean, had everything a guest would need. Great balcony overlooking the scenic town. A couple nights I ate dinner in the room from groceries that I purchased right downstairs after the ski day. A five-minute walk from the train station, which gets you to Zurich in 2-3 hours.
Only downside is that there's a nightclub in the basement, opens late and stays open all night. For Friday and Saturday nights, I could hear the bass of the music throbbing through the floors, even on the third floor.
