⸻ Wonderful stay in the Swiss Alps! We had a great experience at this lovely hotel in Andermatt. The room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with a nice variety of options, and the owner was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The location is also perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel, particularly for the location and cost. I paid a very reasonable price considering it's in the middle of town, walking distance to the gondolas and right above a Coop grocery store. The owner is great, very friendly and present every day at breakfast and then at the front desk. Friendly (though in a very matter-of-fact way, presumably because he's Swiss) and informative. He made this a fun and friendly trip for an American traveling on his own for skiing. The hotel has a ski room in the basement (bicycle room in the summer). The room felt very clean, had everything a guest would need. Great balcony overlooking the scenic town. A couple nights I ate dinner in the room from groceries that I purchased right downstairs after the ski day. A five-minute walk from the train station, which gets you to Zurich in 2-3 hours. Only downside is that there's a nightclub in the basement, opens late and stays open all night. For Friday and Saturday nights, I could hear the bass of the music throbbing through the floors, even on the third floor.

Great hotel! Central location in walking distance to both ski gondolas, a grocery shop in the same building, and a bakery across the street; modern rooms, clean, comfortable, quiet, and recently renovated; very helpful management and personnel; dedicated ski/bike room. Highly recommended!

We arrived in Andermatt, February 3rd, 2025, to spend the week at Alpenhotel Schlussel skiing. Thomas greeted us warmly and gave us some tips on the town so we could look around our first day. Unfortunately on the 5th, I was involved in a traumatic skiing accident that resulted in emergency surgery on our first day. Thomas was invaluable in helping us figure out how to get to the hospital (an hour away), and made sure our transportation was arranged for us. He kept in contact with my husband every day as I spent 3 days in the hospital and helped arrange my trip back to the hotel, and then to the airport. The hotel is adorable, everyone is so friendly and helped me get around when I came back on crutches. Breakfast was delicious and Thomas was there every morning to chat. We highly recommend the Alpenhotel and we will definitely go back someday, likely in the summer.

I stayed at Alpenhotel Schlüssel for 3 nights and I couldn’t be happier that I chose this hotel for my stay in Andermatt. It is located near the train station (5’ walk) (which is very convenient if you are travelling by train), in the middle of the town, walking distance to everything. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and made my stay there very pleasant. The rooms are renovated, very cozy and clean and the view was amazing. The hotel offers breakfast every morning with everything you need. The director/owner (Thomas) was always there to help and give advices on how to explore the area and was always friendly and smiling! Overall, I would definitely recommend it and I will definitely be back!

I could not ask for anything more. Our recent stay here was fantastic in every regard. The room was clean and comfortable with a lot of storage. The ski room was secure and the boot dryers appreciated. The breakfast was great. Easy walk to both the Gemsstock and the sunny side. Most importantly, Thomas and the rest of the staff were SUPER friendly.

Cannot say enough good things about Alpenhotel Schlüssel. Thomas and his team were extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The included breakfast (try the house-made apricot jam) and ski room (with a heated ski boot rack!) were really nice touches. The location was great - just a five minute walk from the train station and both Andermatt gondolas; lots of dining options; a great ski/coffee shop across the way. It was more affordable than most places in the area. Alpenhotel Schlüssel was an all-around fantastic hotel and experience. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely be back!
