Alpenroyal Hotel

We spent 2 days there with our two kids. The building is very modern but with a touch of traditional architecture. Rooms immensely big, curated in every detail. The spa is well curated and clearly divided between family and adults only area. Food is good (we dined in the no-star restaurant), perhaps a bit overpriced. The staff is simply amazing. They are very discrete, but always smiling and willing to help you. The service deserves 6 stars.

Visited this hotel as part of a Backroads hiking/biking trip. Alpenroyal is sprawling with nice public areas, and a gorgeous spa “world” including a large outdoor pool (heated to 33C), saunas, etc. The hotel is located near the town, and they provide a complementary shuttle to shops - a nice service. Because of the nature of the property, rooms can be quite far from the reception, involving going both up and down stairs, though there are elevators, of course. Gym is adequate, but could use a larger variety of hand weights. The breakfast buffet offers a generous variety of breads, fresh fruit, cereals, honeys and jams, meats, cheeses, salads, with additional menu items available. The food at its restaurants is very good. Rooms are very spacious with beautiful views but the shower is very small - a round, somewhat claustrophobic situation.

NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL! It was one of my favorite hotels in the world 15 years ago. But it is now a two to three start hotel. Because: The mother and father who were original owners have retired, and they were fabulous. The staff is not that great in customer service, and service levels are very weak. They are not training well, or not hiring the top tier staff. Front desk, bartenders, restaurant food for 1/2 board not good. The breaksfast foods were stale, they leave some of items uncovered out, and I saw them in the morning and at night. Thus, the marshmellows, and toppings are stale. |The rooms are hot, they were hot in June and they are hot in October, I don't care that they are int he mountains, they should have air conditioning in a 5 start place. The spa used to be great, now, "We have a new sauna, but it is ONLY OPEN FROM 4-8." Exactly during dinner time. So, there goes my day of hangin out in a fancy spa and pool all day. The hotel room i had was huge, with a great view. Just becasue they have a michellin star restaurnat and a light in the closet, the vanity is made out of plastic and small, the shower, doens't have a proper door, so floor gets wet. The place used tto have free snacks at happy hour. Not anymore, there is a cost. It is no inexpensive for what you get, Stay in Ortessi, or somewhere else. The place used to have activites and people to take you on hikes as a group. They called for a guide to take me out and the cost was close the 300 dollars for a couple of hours. This shouldn't be a leading hotel of the world anymore. It needs to be torn down, and re-done, and new trained staff brought in. So sad!!! I've stayed at other leading hotels of the world and the hotels and staff are ten times better! Go to Lake Garda or Bologna leading hotels and see 5 star service. Don't go stay here, for the price and what you get- NOT WORTH IT! For two hundred dollars a night, I'd go back, but not for what I paid.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Alpenroyal Hotel in August 2025 and had an incredible time. I rarely write reviews but the staff and property deserve it. Service: I'll start with this... 12/10, A++. The staff across the hotel were simply amazing. Friendly, proactive, knowledgeable, helpful. They turned a great experience into an unforgettable one. Thank you Check-in: Smooth and easy. We arrived at 3 PM and our room was ready early. We were upgraded from a Junior Suite to Junior Suite Deluxe. The staff helped park our car and move our luggage Room: Exactly as pictured on the website (actually felt larger in reality). Beautiful with breathtaking views. The photos don't do the views justice Location: Short walk (15 minutes) to the Col Raiser lift which we believe is the best way to start the iconic Seceda hike without the crowds. Also a short walk to the center of Selva Spa: Massive, clean, and modern. Multiple dry sauna and steam room options and a relaxation room. Great hot tubs and pools too (both indoor and outdoor w/ views of the alps) Restaurant and Bar: We didn't get the half board option but had breakfasts, a few lunches, and a dinner at the hotel. Excellent food. Extensive wine list (great by the glass options too). Cocktails were delicious. We loved doing night caps at the bar and enjoying the live piano man Hope to be back sooner rather than later!

I’ve been there for 8 nights with my family (3kids) - What an amazing hotel, everything is super clean, decorative of the room is so welcoming . The pool and Sauna area are just fantastic and always clean and full with everything you need like towels, fresh water, drinks near the pool and more. The service of the hotel is fenomenal - always the there is team member who help you and immediately , everything you ask they have solution for you - you never hear the word : No.|The food at breakfast and specially at dinner is insane - every day different menu and every dish feels like a Michelin star dish - and the service of the people in the dinner is amazing - they bring you everything you want and in minutes . BTW - the hotel also have a 1 star Michelin restaurant- so it’s all come together to the best food an hotel can offer.|And last - the amazing Spa treatments - me and my wife had 6 different treatments there over the week - and it’s was just out of this world - best treatment massage I’ve got.||I highly recommend to everyone to book this amazing hotel - if you weren’t there - you didn’t seen how the best hotel in the Dolomites feels like.

Good day! This is probably the best ski hotel in the world! We've been coming back here for several years. Excellent spa, outdoor pool, service, and food in the restaurant. We had a problem with a broken door, but the staff helped us solve the problem. In short, I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel Alpenroyal is beautifully situated just off the main road, at the junction of two quieter streets, offering a peaceful yet accessible location. Also I recommend booking half board: the food for dinner at Restaurant Stuben is excellent: see restaurant review. ||There’s free underground parking at the back of the hotel with plenty of space and EV charging points. However, signage from the parking area to reception could be clearer.||Check-in included a welcome drink, though it was a very sweet non-alcoholic option — it would be better if guests were asked their preference. The staff then gave us a personal tour of the hotel and our room, which was a lovely, thoughtful touch.||We stayed in Room 603, a centrally located junior suite on the second floor. The suite was spacious, with a dedicated seating area, table, and chair. ||The bed area was inviting, with a comfortable mattress, crisp linens, a soft grey headboard, and classic side lamps. Wood flooring and tasteful decor added to the warm alpine atmosphere. The terrace was a real highlight, offering stunning views of the Daunei mountain range and the pool below.||The bathroom featured both a shower with jacuzzi jets and a separate bathtub (also jacuzzi-equipped), though the water pressure was weak and not very effective. The separate WC was quite small, with flickering ceiling lights and a faulty door switch that turned the light off when closed. ||Toiletries were underwhelming — body lotion was watery, and bottles weren’t replenished. Towels were functional but rough and could be upgraded for a more luxurious feel.||The hotel has three pools: a heated indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool (with whirlpool jets), and an unheated outdoor pool. The outdoor heated pool closes at 8 PM when a cover is placed over it. ||The spa area, open from 4–8 PM, is one of the best features — offering three dry saunas (hay, alpine flower, and panoramic) and two steam rooms (alpine and sea salt). These are proper adult spa zones where clothing is not allowed. ||There’s a tranquil chill-out space with loungers and a stunning circular tree installation between the spa and gym. A separate family spa in a wooden hut near the pool allows swimwear and is a great option for guests with children.||The gym, open 24 hours, is adjacent to the bar and accessible from the pool. It’s large and modern, with two treadmills, two upright bikes, two steppers, an arm-cycle, ab machines, a bench with dumbbells up to 12kg, floor mats, and stability balls. ||There’s also a tanning terrace above the gym, blending seamlessly into the surrounding landscape and connecting to the family spa — an architectural highlight.||Breakfast was overall excellent. The spread included high-quality cured meats (especially the final cuts), a great variety of cheeses, fresh breads, and a made-to-order hot food section. The omelettes with vegetables were tasty, though the scrambled eggs were less impressive. ||The pastry and cake section looked better than it tasted, but the fresh orange juice (from a machine) and excellent coffee made up for it. The Prosecco station was a luxurious touch. ||Service was outstanding — a big thank you to Momo, Domenico, and Karolina for their attentiveness and warmth.||⸻||Overall Impressions|Hotel Alpenroyal offers a refined, stylish alpine experience with excellent wellness facilities, beautiful rooms, and high-quality service. While there are some areas that could be improved — better towels, upgraded toiletries, and some bathroom maintenance — the overall experience was positive and memorable. Would happily return.

Excellent Alpenroyal Hotel stylish, cozy, and very comfortable. Great service, attentive staff, delicious breakfasts, and stunning views all around. A perfect place to relax and recharge. Highly recommended!

Amazing! If I had to choose one word to describe it, it would be amazing. The food and location were some of the top reasons I loved it so much. The pool was the most interactive and intricate pool I have ever seen and been into. There were jets and even a whirlpool. It was perfect for playing and relaxing. We went on a guided hike and the hotel gave us a great rec. for the guide. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and I would REALLY recommend the spa.

The hotel is in the most beautiful place in Italy for sure. How can you go wrong going there? The hiking, the food, the people are all so wonderful in Val Gardena. The staff here speak about 5 languages minimum. They are very nice and kind, the breakfast is healthy and included and yummy. The hikes in the area are the best. The hotel rooms are nice, but they are outdated in decor. In the summer the room are very, very hot...don't think about taking a nap, there is no air conditioning, and my daughter had jet lagged and was in the room. When we returned from hiking all day, it is really hot in there. We all agree, a five star hotel should have air conditioning even in the mountains in Southern California, and even here at the beach, we need air conditioning in the summer. The spa is really nice, the extras are great, the outdoor pool is so nice, and fun to sit in as well. The prices are fair for what you get. I think this is a four star hotel....not a five star hotel..so be prepared, and enjoy yourself knowing what your are getting...great service, expensive for what it is, nice amenities and a hot room, in the day in the summer.
