Alpha Hotel Canberra

Very bad experience. There were insects everywhere, smelled bad. The towel given was ripped and the soap didn’t work. Very damp smell, and the aircon didn’t work either.

The funk of several decades of visiting public servants can be felt in the bones of this building.... beds are terrible, WiFi almost inaccessible, but it's clean (if you ignore the forever smell of damp)

Nice enough rooms. Basic service. Price does not reflect the absence of an improved service. Does the job

We had an excellent stay at Alpha Hotel over Easter! A large group of us travelled from all over and used it as our home base. We hadn't been there in years, but it lived up to our good memories. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfy, especially the beds. The location was convenient to the attractions of Canberra and the large shopping centre nearby. Overall it was incredibly family friendly and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Nothing to complain! Reception works till 11 pm! That is peace of mind if we arrive very late we still can check-in! Begin with my family for almost a week. Parking free, provided some paper labels. The curtains are tick coated 100% block sunlight, so I can sleep till late. Both rooms windows have mozzy mesh, so I kept windows open and get fresh air.. Aircon works very well, but I used rarely coz I liked to keep windows open and get fresh air. Microwave works OK. Beds ok. Bathroom is good. WiFi free. Room price is very good! The room cleaner comes too early, so I hang the label on the door to not disturb us, coz I want to sleep late, so I endup throwing my rubbish bin by myself. But this is nothing to complain. Also if you go the end of the street, is Pine Island road, where you can see big kangaroos and swim in the river

We booked here during the Easter Long Weekend with the 4 kids. We stayed in the family room. It was great as there was a separate room for the adults and the 4 kids had bunk beds. They had a blast. The rooms were clean and the service was great. The location was convenient next to the shops. One gem is the Turkish restaurant called Little Instabul. Great food and walking distant.

Three things to work on for Alpha hotel- 1. Cockroach and eggs in the kettle!! Lucky me opened the kettle before making a coffee. While checking out I was offered free coffee.. The issue was not acknowledged and the receptionist was rude and was asking me to return the kettle as they have 24hr service!! Lol 2. Parking is misleading- Offers free parking but signs say you have to pay to park, and hotel won’t reimburse! They provide free parking voucher, but by the time you would have already paid!! I was offered 10$ for parking I paid, but the receptionist later changed his mind. 3. Customer service- Zero stars, hope they pick up. The morning person is the one am talking about. 4. Rubbish - Bin was full when we opened it
