Celebrating our daughters 38 years since her second liver transplant in Cambridge UK. So only fitting that we return to this Restaurant. It was very good. Great wait, staff, and excellent food. Well done team.

Had a fabulous meal last night for an early mother's day, and food was on point, delicious, plated well and served by a waitress who was easy and made our night enjoyable. With a gluten intolerant family member it was so amazing to have choice on the menu not just the one option!!!! Desert was loved too. Thank you

A 5 star review is rare from me. The owner chef totally deserves this. Bringing this restaurant back to it's former glory has taken time after it going through 3 owners. The Angus steak meal was so unique with so many layers of flavour I have to tip my hat off to him. Lovely warm pleasing decor and coffee and desert absolutely perfect. Ok so what can they improve on. Easy ..go and see Bootleg brewery and Hopnotic and do a deal on craft beer supply. Your rather light on the options here. Lovely place. Excellent guy behind the bar. Huge selection of craft beers so I tried one from Napier with some beer fries. Gotta say they get chops for presentation Flashiest aoli fries I've had.

Been here twice. 1st time for dinner about 1 year ago and everything was 100% fantastic (atmosphere, food and notably the service). 2nd time there was a Saturday for lunch. Food fantastic, atmosphere great (be mindful of glare if facing windows), and service was good but felt needed improvement. Reasons are we weren't advised of fish of the day before wanting our orders, we weren't asked if we wanted more drinks, and only a few of our group of 7 were asked how the food was. Having said that, she did ask if anyone has food allergies which was really good, was lovely, friendly, and helpful when we had questions. We will definitely be back.

We had a dinner with friends recently at Alpha St. The food was fantastic, thank you so much. We had Ribeye steak, Lamb rump and Pork Belly Snitzel, the nicest food I've eaten in a long time. It was a busy Saturday night so the food was a bit slow, but we were kept informed and the lovely Chef came out at the end of the meal to greet us directly and talk to us about the hold up, offered us a free glass of wine each. Fantastic service! Can't wait to go back. Thanks team.

The food was superb and the service was excellent too. So glad we found this place. Food perfectly cooked and presented. Nice cosy spot for a drink or a meal. Highly recommend and we will be back.

We had an amazing visit, getting taken last minute for an early 5pm sitting. Wait staff were completely lovely, and we expected pub-ish dining but got much MUCH Better!!! I had a beautiful snapper/prawn dish and a pork belly dish that my husband raved about. We will be sending people to this place for sure!

We were looking for a place to have a late lunch after hiking and found the Alpha St. We were so lucky! The wait staff were very welcoming with lovely demeanors. The scallops and squid were the absolute best we have tasted! The scallops were served on scallop shells with a dollop of cauliflower and Granny Smith apple purée. The squid was lightly salted and peppered and served over a kiffir lime and yuzu mayo purée. Both dishes were succulent and perfectly prepared. We ate them so quickly we neglected to take a photo of them before enjoying them. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I am surprised at the tepid ratings for this place so far. My wife and I had dinner there about 3 weeks ago and were impressed. The only minor criticsm that some of the tables near the entrance were subject to a cool air flow the night we were there so that we requested, and were given, a different table. That fixed the problem. The place was full. The food was excellent and the wine list not bad. If I could, I'd give it 4.5. We'll go back.

Sadly the Alpha Street Kitchen isn't what it used to be. My last experience there was not pleasant, from start to finish. The Snapper was dry, my partners pasta dish tasted like canned tomato sauce, and my dessert was very 'commercial' (versus what you'd expect from a higher end restaurant). Sadly, even the service was less than desirable. All in all a bad night out at a very high price. Sorry.

Smoked potato ravioli and the line caught fish and chips are some of the dishes they are famous for. Beautiful ambience, very nice service and everything was delicious. Beautiful old building... Make sure to experience the restrooms.
