Celebrating our daughters 38 years since her second liver transplant in Cambridge UK. So only fitting that we return to this Restaurant. It was very good. Great wait, staff, and excellent food. Well done team.

Valentines Day , restaurant was busy but we expected that. Exceptional food which was delivered to the table relatively quickly. We were aware at the time of booking that the table was for 90 minutes but this was more than enough time to enjoy a leisurely meal , dessert and two drinks each. We both had the eye fillet which was cooked perfectly. The real star of the show though was the service , the young gentleman who attended to us was a credit to both the restaurant and himself. Highly recommend this restaurant which delivered wonderful food and exemplary service on an extremely busy evening.

My family and I had an exceptional dining experience at Alpha Street Bistro in Cambridge. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, which perfectly balanced sophistication with comfort. The service was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure we had a great experience. Every recommendation they gave was spot on, and their enthusiasm for the menu was evident. Now, onto the food—simply incredible! The menu showcased a thoughtful balance of creativity and classic favourites, making it easy for everyone in the family to find something they loved. Tuna entree was tough and stringy, but tasty and well presented. Prawn linguine was fantastic. Steak far from memorable and not a sniff of promised truffle on the otherwise great fries. Vegetables cost extra on a menu that was already expensive. Service was admittedly influenced by being an extremely busy night, but lacked any personal interaction. Very pleasant young staff though. Decor pretty boring with no acknowledgement that it was Valentines Day which was a surprise!

We booked at Alpha Street Kitchen for last night, Valentine's, without realizing it was that. We enjoyed our evening at the restaurant immensely. Beautiful food and atmosphere. Service was outstanding. So apologetic because the food took a bit longer and so gifted us desserts. Such great service. Definitely worth a visit, but make sure to book. Popular restaurant.

I have dined at Alpha St three times over the last month - lunch twice and once for dinner. Every time the food and service has been exceptional. It is fabulous having one of our favourite restaurants back on form with the new(ish) owners and chefs. Now if they could just bring back the smoked potato ravioli…

Amazing food, the chef whipped up a vegetarian meal off the menu for me and it was delicious! All dishes our table ordered were exceptionally good. Even the kids loved their dishes! Thanks again!

Valentine’s Day. There were so many people jammed in you could hardly hear yourself speak. Big wait for food despite being told we had to be finished by 7.15. Was very disappointing as we have always enjoyed this restaurant before. Romantic? I don’t think so !

We were looking for a place to have a late lunch after hiking and found the Alpha St. We were so lucky! The wait staff were very welcoming with lovely demeanors. The scallops and squid were the absolute best we have tasted! The scallops were served on scallop shells with a dollop of cauliflower and Granny Smith apple purée. The squid was lightly salted and peppered and served over a kiffir lime and yuzu mayo purée. Both dishes were succulent and perfectly prepared. We ate them so quickly we neglected to take a photo of them before enjoying them. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I am surprised at the tepid ratings for this place so far. My wife and I had dinner there about 3 weeks ago and were impressed. The only minor criticsm that some of the tables near the entrance were subject to a cool air flow the night we were there so that we requested, and were given, a different table. That fixed the problem. The place was full. The food was excellent and the wine list not bad. If I could, I'd give it 4.5. We'll go back.

Sadly the Alpha Street Kitchen isn't what it used to be. My last experience there was not pleasant, from start to finish. The Snapper was dry, my partners pasta dish tasted like canned tomato sauce, and my dessert was very 'commercial' (versus what you'd expect from a higher end restaurant). Sadly, even the service was less than desirable. All in all a bad night out at a very high price. Sorry.

Smoked potato ravioli and the line caught fish and chips are some of the dishes they are famous for. Beautiful ambience, very nice service and everything was delicious. Beautiful old building... Make sure to experience the restrooms.
