Alphen Boutique Hotel & Spa

We loved staying at the Alphen. Great location, room, restaurants, bar and especially the staff! They are just so friendly and helpful. Another bonus of this fantastic boutique hotel is that it backs on to a great walking/ running trail that goes for ages. It's safe and beautiful, as is the region. Highly recommend including the Alphen in your plans for Cape Town.

We spent four nights at the Alphen and could not have been happier. The surroundings are gorgeous, leafy and serene. The rooms are huge, beautifully furnished and clean. A cooked-to-order breakfast with great coffee is included at la Belle bistro and bakery. We ate at Blanko twice - the food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. We ate at Incognito once. We discovered it was more of a pre-dinner cocktail lounge with minimal food which would be perfect for meeting friends but we were a somewhat exhausted traveling couple so not great for us at that time. But that's not their fault - it was clearly a popular meeting place.||||We had a couple's massage at the spa. Both masseuses were excellent.||||There are safe walking trails right outside the hotel, busy with locals going jogging, walking their dogs and riding their horses. It was a treat to be able to get some exercise outside as security is an issue in other areas. ||||We hit the pool on our last day. Glorious! Since we had checked out earlier, we were given access to the gym to shower. The gym was well stocked with free weights and other equipment. Too bad we didn't have time to use it!||||This was our first trip to South Africa. I'm sure we will return at some point and I would definitely book the Alphen again. Constantia was a perfect home base. It was relaxing and safe and it was very easy to Uber to Constantia Cape Town sights.

We stayed three nights in a spacious Superior Suite at this Provincial Heritage site. Thanks to De Villiers, we enjoyed a fascinating historical overview of the property, which is perfectly located on the Constantia Greenbelt, featuring nine scenic trails. The Alphen Trail, right on the doorstep, is a must.||||Booking with special requests was effortless — replies to emails came within minutes. Special thanks to Debbie and Meryl for their prompt, caring assistance.||||Housekeeping: Our room was spotless and well-kept. Warda in housekeeping was wonderfully friendly and attentive. I was impressed to see staff polishing even light switches — a sign of true dedication to cleanliness. Fridge, sweet treats, water, and coffee were always replenished. Lightweight duvets ensured a comfortable sleep.||||Laundry Service: Five-star laundry! Collected late evening and returned the next afternoon, beautifully presented — shirts on hangers and T-shirts boxed like a gift.||||Dining||||La Belle (Bistro & Bakery): Fantastic breakfasts — the Almond & Banana Oatmeal, buttermilk pancakes, French toast, and juices are must-tries. Thank you, Sandra, for the smiley coffee foam and heart-shaped butter.||||Incognito (Cocktail & Tapas Bar): A relaxed, jazzy atmosphere with quick and friendly service. Zucchini fries were excellent. A special thank you to De Villiers — professional, hands-on, and world-class in hospitality.||||Blanko (Italian Restaurant): Denzel was outstanding — energetic, knowledgeable, and professional. The steak was unforgettable — I’d return to Cape Town just for it!||||Spa||||The spa is a must-visit, with professional and welcoming staff making it an indulgent experience.||||Service & Staff||||From security to guest relations, every staff member was warm and professional. Hayley made us feel at home, and Crystal sent us off with genuine warmth and an invitation to return.||||The Alphen Boutique Hotel and Spa is a true gem. From history and setting, to dining and service, everything exceeded expectations. Highly recommended — and we will most certainly be back.

The Alphen Boutique Hotel & Spa — a serene oasis in Constantia!|The team were exceptionally attentive, and our room was wonderful — elegant, cozy, and surrounded by greenery and mountains. We loved everything: the welcome treats, the comfort, and the overall atmosphere.|The Blanco restaurant was especially memorable: delicious food, an excellent wine selection, the freshest oysters, and highly professional waitstaff. My husband, a true coffee connoisseur, rated the coffee the highest possible — he said it was the best coffee of his life!|Additionally, by booking directly through the hotel’s website, we received a complimentary SPA experience, and it was fantastic! The massage was truly high-quality, we could choose any program, the room for couples was cozy, and the team were extremely attentive.|The hotel impressed us with its warmth, coziness, and impeccable taste in every detail!

huge spacious bedroooms , the most comfortable beds , beautifully furnished with thoughtful touches,||prefer your new key system to the old card system for opening the door. All staff super friendly and caring. Really my favourite place.

The entire stay was magical. From the incredible service and the warm smiles that greeted me at every turn, to the delicious food and the serene setting, everything came together to make me feel completely content and stress-free.
