Alphonse Atoll

This was one of my favorite of the islands we saw on our 12-day Seychelles adventure. This Atoll is beautiful and had some of the best snorkeling of the trip (aside from Aldabra obviously). The island itself is a wonder ground of beach and sand, when the tide comes in it looks like an oasis sprung from the center of the ocean. There are paths inside the island and there is a small community dedicated to protection of the natural resources, some coconut production, and a small fishing company with accommodations. It's not much - but this beautiful island is paradise and lovely.

Out of this world luxury and beautiful simplicity.
