Alpina Hotel

My experience was wonderful! The rooms were very nice and had very comfortable beds. The duvet covers were really cute too! The balcony was amazing! The view of the town and mountains was truly stunning! The owner is very kind and accommodating. They also have a fantastic breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Alpina. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view. Breakfast was cozy and satisfying. Just 5 minutes walk to the Matten b.i. Sonne bus stop to take the bus to either Interlaken Ost or West or to Wilderswil. The walk along the road was very nice and beautiful with Jungfrau mountains as the backdrop. The lady owner, Dora, is very nice and helpful. She makes you feel at home with ease. Please note that the housekeeping will come at 9am everyday till 10am. IMO, price is a bit on the high side, but understandable with such enchanting neighbourhood.

This was a great experience! Very clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast in the morning, and the lady there gave us umbrellas to use for the day since it was raining.

Comfortable hotel, great views and has the basics for a nice stay in Switzerland. Was able to make a booking on the day after being double booked at another hotel. Lady at the front desk was so accomodating and helpful, aswell as providing the best knowledge of the local area. Recommend staying here!

Stayed here for a week in June '19, booked through Inghams. I have to say from the outset that the welcome from the owner and staff are fantastic, very polite and helpful. There is a lift to all floors.||I stayed on half board basis - the breakfast is typical continental style, perfectly adequate, great coffee and a good start to the day. One curiosity is the coloured hard boiled eggs. The dinner served each night bar Sunday was very good every day and could be described as the sort of food you can imagine Swiss families eating. I saw a few others eating there and those paying from the menu seemed to be enjoying their meals. The bar area is frequented by locals.||The room I had on the third floor was perfectly adequate and comfortable, had a balcony with decent views. The shower was on the same floor and was perfectly ok.||The hotel's outdoor garden is great and has fantastic views of the Jungfrau and other mountains. The beer is good too.||Only two downsides:||(1) The wi-fi is a bit patchy. I could barely get a signal in my room but was fast downstairs and in the beer garden||(2) The sound-proofing is not great between floors. I had noisy people below me two nights into my stay, I did mention this to the owner who in fairness sorted it out quickly, then again on my last night, again from the room underneath, with the occupier thinking a loud call to prayer at midnight and again at 6am is considerate. ||There can be considerable noise from the neighbouring hotel (the Mattenhof), but don't be put off by these irritations. I just have a very low tolerance threshold of inconsiderates within the human race.||The bar and restaurant are closed on Sunday & Monday, but there are options within a 5 minutes walk, or get the bus into Interlaken. ||For what I paid, for the great service, the convenience of getting anywhere, it was a great stay.

When I consider cost, location, cleanliness, and staff Alpina Hotel is good value for money. ||This is a budget hotel, and we stayed in a hostel-style room [i.e., no toilet and shower, but it did have a small sink]. Room was clean and the bathroom area was dated but also clean. You do get what you pay for, and it was for Interlaken very affordable. But it's not a resort, so be prepared for a budget experience. ||The front desk staff was super lovely and helpful, the bar staff was very kind, and the location was very close to many restaurants. ||I'm not totally sure I would stay again [unless there was an en suite]. But if you are looking for cheerful and cheap, this is an excellent option in Interlaken.

Very good service, the lady at the reception created a friendly and familiar atmosphere and provided us with everything we needed. We borrowed a power adapter from her and we could simply leave at the reception on checkout. Breakfast is optional and since we had to leave early in the morning we didn't book it. Great vintage decoration in the entrance hall and the corridors. Our room was equipped with a small bathroom and modern furniture.

Lovely family running the place. Very spacious rooms. Loved the skeleton key for the rooms. Was a little warm in the room but nothing a cracked window couldn't solve.

What a fantastic place to stay. We booked a few evenings in Murren, part of a larger trip through Europe after picking up a new BMW in Munich. We drove into the Lauterbrunnen valley pretty late, after dark, making the last cable car up to Murren. When we got to the hotel to check in, it was pretty late and the kitchen was closed. The owners of the hotel, who work and live there, opened the kitchen and let us order dinner. The food was excellent. And, we sat and chatted - had some great beer. What an awesome way to arrive. Next AM, we saw how absolutely amazing the view was from our room. I've hiked all over the Sierra Nevada mountains, camped at 11000' and higher, and the view from the balcony was better than any of those experiences. Sure, the room we had was somewhat small, but with our two young girls they loved the bunk beds! It was fantastic. The owners were so warm we had dinner again at the hotel instead of going to another place. Great hotel, excellent staff, fantastic restaurant. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for a night while visiting the Jungfrau mountain - the staff was very friendly (seemed family owned, I think they live there), the price was very reasonable, they had a morning buffet, and there is also a restaurant located inside as well. The accommodations are a bit antiquated, but we had a pleasant stay if even for only a day, and would encourage anyone needing a nice, affordable place to stay in the Interlaken area to go with Hotel Alpina. They also have wireless internet, which was nice. We booked ahead on hotwire I believe, but everything worked out very well.
