This is my second time back at the Alpine Grille, and it just keeps getting better. First of all, we came in on a very busy thursday in heavy rain with a group of twelve, including two children, and only called twenty minutes ahead of time. No problem, they put us up in the back room. We came in and the bar was full of locals, regulars, and a few waterlogged tourists. The bar was lively along with the full house of small tables and a guitarist with a lovely voice singing her heart out for the people to a rousing applause every song. We were seated quickly, especially for getting the twelve top ready. This place gets the review it does for begin unpretentious, friendly, very good for the money and delicious. I had the french onion soup here, and it was exactly what every cooking school should teach to replicate. Then I had the 16oz blackened ribeye, served black and blue, with a blue cheese brandy cream sauce. It was orgasmically face-melting. And it was $25. In any major metro, you would never find anything this good for less than $70. The beers kept coming, and the staff was great with the rambunctious kids. Please never go to the Alpine Grille so that I can keep getting seated with twelve people on a crowded night twenty minutes ahead of time.
