We celebrated our 11-year wedding anniversary with Alpine Haus tonight. It was our first time dining there. When we booked our reservation last week, I informed the hostess on the phone of our special occasion, and again when calling to confirm our reservation today. When we arrived, we were seated by the manager I’m assuming, who simply asked us our name and quickly whisked us away to our table. Not once during the entire meal did a staff member recognize our anniversary. I didn’t expect our server to know, because I doubt she was even informed. This review would have been a 5-star experience, but at $100 per person after tip for two people, I find that pretty unacceptable. Additionally, we had been looking forward to Apple streusel for dessert, and all they had left at 6:30 pm on a Saturday was alpine cake. This experience aside, the food and our server were all wonderful. The jager-rahm schnitzel and beer selection were fabulous and the vinaigrette they use on their side salad is so good we bought a quart! The live accordion musician singing German songs was also a very nice touch. Overall, if you’re craving authentic German cuisine, Alpine Haus is the place to get it. I would choose to have your special occasion elsewhere however, because the hospitality just isn’t there for the price point and your special day simply will go forgotten and unrecognized.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner here w family whilst n town and it was great to see the culinary traditions of Germany and Austria in full swing here. We had the pleasure of being back n Germany this past year visiting friends and our little village we used to live in for a few years, and the offerings here really took me back to our home away from home. I’m a huge fan of veal schnitzel and very much enjoyed their take on this dish. The sides all are prepared with their own version of seasonings, etc and thus it was nice not to have usual stock offerings u find at other joints. The bier selection here also had some of my favorite jefe’s and that was an added bonus. Service was wonderful, and reservations are recommended during busier holiday months when the town is packed w river visitors. Prost!!!

Google
This is not the tourist attraction German restaurant in New Braunfels, its far superior. Alpine Haus serves authentic homemade German cuisine. The schnitzel is amazing(all variations) and the wursts are all clearly handmade. The location is comfortable and cozy, not a biergarten style with a decent bottled beer selection. Alles schmeckt ausgezeichnet!

Atmosphere, decor and service was great. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Now, I’m German (not german descent or born in Germany and raised in the US). I only moved to the US 12 years ago and absolutely know what simple German food should taste like. First things first, the baked Brie was amazing, definitely enjoyed it BUT its traditionally served with compote Lingonberries. Now if that’s not available Cranberries will do, but raspberry jam? Seems lazy and cheap to me. Nonetheless we really enjoyed it and was willing to actually just ignore the jam. Now onto the The Schweinebraten. Oh my. First things first. The sauce, gravy whatever you want to call it was barely existent, Color was off (nice dark color would be ideal) and there war zero flavor. I had to add so much salt and pepper to even make it edible. But then I cut into the meat and lets just say it was dry as an off tasting that I had to order something else. The waiter was super nice and let me order a Schnitzel which I enjoyed, but here again the breading (Panade) definitely lacked flavor. (A little s&p is all it needs). The dumplings were ok, nothing special. Definitely had better. Bratkartoffeln are just fried potato cubes. Now onto to the Cordon Bleu. My husband was first shocked to see the cheese and ham laying on top of the super thin Schnitzel and we laughed it off since we never tried it like that before, but was disappointed with the first bite. It’s definitely a lazy and overpriced schnitzel that I could have cooked better myself. The special thing about a cordon bleu is when you cut in and the gooey cheese melts from in between your two layers of schnitzel. There was non of that. One layer of thin schnitzel with a layer of cheese and ham on top. Takes less than 3 min to prepare this and therefore tasted absolutely underwhelming. For the price we paid we expected more and definitely better food. Overall this restaurant could do better as it’s a really simple menu. P.S. adding parsley to every dish is also lazy.

We visited for the first time Easter 2025. We live in Switzerland for a while and got to appreciate Germanic food there and in Austria and Germany. We are a bit picky. We picked up the college yute and headed south to New Braunfels. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside. There was plenty of parking. When we went inside - boom - we were transported to a restaurant in Europe. Wow. The tables were mostly full. Be sure to make a reservation. There are several rooms with tables. The inside is decorate with brick and decor just like a place we like near Zurich. Very nice looking. The service was excellent and efficient. We started with some fried zucchini - I don't mind saying the best I ever had. The appetizer is very large and easily fed the three of us. Then the yute and I had a side salad with a fantastic dill dressing. They lady had a mushroom soup that she liked. A pumpernickel / rye type of swirled bread was served also, with butter. The lady had pork Jager schnitzel and mushroom gravy, potato salad and red cabbage. She said it was great, but could only eat half and got the rest to go. The yute tried the double sausage plate (smoked and bratwurst) with German potato salad, red cabbage. It came with a mustard and a cheese dipping sauce. He enjoyed the smoked, but like the bratwurst better. I had the chicken zigeuner schnitzel with spaetzle, and red cabbage. Let me take a moment - that schnitzel was so large, flattened, moist and cooked perfectly that I don't think I had it better in Europe. Cheers to the chef. I had a Hungarian type gravy with paprika and peppers. Delicious. The red cabbage was excellent - not too sour or sweet. The spaetzle were fresh and just great. I had my gravy on the side in a small bowl as I wasn't sure what it would taste like. I would recommend for everyone to get the gravy on the side so you can share flavors. We were so full we forgot to try a dessert (next time). I am not sure how long Alpine Haus has been in business, but it was a great experience with delicious food. Good job.

Wow! A little slice of heaven. If you want to feel.like you are back in Germany, this place does the trick. The food was so good and absolutely authentic. The people and the atmosphere made the entire experience wonderful. We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Thanks for a great experience.

Google
What a find. Cool spot in a historical building. The beer selection was amazing. So many uncommon European beers, great to try a few. Service was great. The schnitzels were tasty and the portions were large. Sausage platter app was great. The sauerkraut was really good. We tried the red cabbage and German potato salad and all were good. If you enjoy German food go here, and if you don’t know what that is go check it out. I forgot the fried Brie cheese was a great app and never had it like that before.

Google
Great service and atmosphere. The mushroom Sour cream Gravy and sauerkraut reminded me of home cooked meals in Germany and hungry. Fast service even with a packed house. 10/10 recommend. Oh! And great musical entertainment.

Yelp
Top 2 best meals my husband and I have ever had. If you love German food don't go anywhere else. My husband had the chicken cordon blue (German Style). I had Beef Goulash. It was traditional more like a stew (than what they call gravy.) It tasted so much like my grandma use to make I actually teared up. I don't think I've ever cried over food. Chunks of beef so tender my fork could barely pick them up without them falling apart. The red cabbage was incredible, perfect pairing.

Yelp
I think this may be the best schnitzel we've ever had. A very authentic, German restaurant recommended to us by some of the locals. As soon as we walked in, we are greeted with the smell of the food in the air, the staff, and a gentleman in lederhosen playing German songs on the accordion. The only way it could get more authentic is if they handed you a full bier mug and screamed "Prost" as you walked in lol. It looks like it was once someone's home that has since been renovated into a restaurant. Very cozy and homey. Baylee was our very attentive waitress. We never wanted for anything. My husband got a Duvel, and I got a weihenstephaner Hefeweizen, both delicious and refreshing. For food - The starter salad was nice and light, covered in a house made dill vinaigrette. Unique, light and refreshing. I dipped our bread in the extra dressing left in the bowl. Then the schnitzel! I got the Jäger Schnitzel and my Husband got the Ziguener Schnitzel. Mine was savory with a mushroom gravy sauce that had the right amount of thickness to it. Perfect for the potato dumplings to be soaked in. I could've done with less mushrooms on mine, personally. My husbands had a nice bell peppery flavor to it, not spicy at all. The spätzel was tasty too. We were so happy we chose this place, we don't have a lot of good German food out by us. Both our dishes came with sauerkraut as well. I'm not super into sauerkraut. But it had a yummy tang to it. It was perfect when used as a garnish for every bite you take. Kinda like how you put a bit of sliced ginger on your sushi roll before you eat it. Only bummer is that they didn't have their dessert menu available at the time we went. So if your interested in their dessert, maybe call before you go to make sure it's available!

Yelp
Just returned from early supper here. Had mushroom soup, Veal Jaeger Schnitzel, potato dumplings, & red cabbage. Good REAL German cuisine items. But, disappointed they were out of apple strudel. Good restaurant, super wait-service, even background .... . . . .classic German music. Unusual parking on large paved, partly-shaded lot on sides & to rear.

Yelp
We had a lovely lunch here while visiting New Braunfels with friends. This is a charming little house with multiple cozy dining rooms. The tables were nicely set, and our server was very attentive throughout the meal. The food was great! I had my favorite German dish - Rouladen - with red cabbage (Rotkraut) and Spätzle. The Rouladen was SO BIG I only managed to eat about 1/2 of it. I had never seen one so big (and my mother and grandmother cooked them often and I lived in Germany for many years!) Others had schnitzel and were very happy with their choices.

Yelp
I was there for lunch on June 25, 2025. Had only eaten there once previously. Ordered sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings and mushroom soup. Mushroom soup and dumplings were really good! But i have to say the sauerbraten and red cabbage had no "zing" at all. Very disappointing. Sauerbraten should be tangy from the vinegar and pickling spices in which it's marinated. Red cabbage is usually a little vinegar-y as well. Probably would not order this again. Service was excellent -- our waitress was super! The atmosphere is very nice too, but in the end, one goes out to eat for the food, no? Just sayin'...

Yelp
We drive from Fort Worth several times a year to visit our trusted dentist Dr. Adam Gentry at Cole and Gentry in New Braunfels and make a little three day outing of it to visit restaurants in New Braunfels and San Antonio. Have looked at Alpine House before but something caught my eye this time and we decided to visit for lunch. So glad we did. This quaint, stone wall interior venue takes you back to a country inn in Europe. Such a welcoming and comfortable venue. Our server, Karin, was most pleasant, helpful, and attentive. We began with a bottle of a lovely German White wine to share and for me a Trappistes Rochefort beer which proved to be outstanding. Beer Advocate rates it 100. We decided to share the Reuben sandwich. It was accompanied by a potato and ham soup which proved to be absolutely delicious. Rich and savory. So enjoyable. The Reuben is everything a Reuben oughta be. Reuben perfection and their Reuben sauce here is easily the tastiest I've ever had on a Reuben. The side of German potato salad is packed with flavor and served very enjoyably at a cool, room temperature. I really enjoyed it at this temperature as compared with hot. This will surely be a regular destination for us on our trips to NB. We met a delightful (also retired couple) with whom we are planning to meet for lunch here on our visit this coming June. Prost y'all!

Yelp
Live in Austin but traveled to new braunfels to see the downtown lights during Christmastime. This restaurant is in a quint downtown spot. Even better the food shone as well. We got different schnitzels with delicious potato dumplings that were melt in your mouth. The crisp schnitzels with the acidity of the sour cream gravy and lemon was sublime. Can't wait to come back

Yelp
In town for work. Sent my Hubby on a 40 minute drive, to get food from here!!! I was craving good food, from my childhood days! Everyone was very nice, and the place is absolutely adorable. Anna assisted my Husband with his to go order, and she was wonderful. I wish I had felt better that night, because it sounds like I would have thoroughly enjoyed myself!!! We both had the schnitzel. It was just the way my Oma used to make it, once a week, growing up in Austria. Perfectly golden and crisp! Enjoyed the sauerkraut as well. Would love to come back, and try the Rindsgulasch!!! Will update this review if I get the chance. In the meantime, we highly recommend trying this outstanding restaurant! I have eaten German food in NY, HI, and CA. This is the top two, and the other one was my Uncle's!!! Guten Appetit... Tschüss!

Yelp
Alpine House did not disappoint!! Tried multiple times to eat here without reservations and we always had Grandkids with us and the wait was just too long. Planned ahead and made reservations before our night of music at The Redbird Listening Room. It was just wonderful! Food, Service and Ambience all hit the mark. Will definitely return, always with reservations

Yelp
Good German food in the Austin area is non-existent so three friends and I drove down to New Braunfels from Round Rock for lunch. Alpine Haus is a little old house that's seen better days. We were promptly seated at a large table which was fortunate because we planned on ordering lots of food! We started with a German Spaten Lager while we looked at the menu. The starter salad was fresh and crisp and very cold! I ordered the Zigeuner Schnitzel which is Pork or Chicken Schnitzel topped with a spicy paprika bell pepper and onion gravy. I added spaetzle and red cabbage. We also had Cordon Bleu Schnitzel which is Pork or Chicken cutlet layered with Black Forest ham and Swiss cheese and Jager-Rahm Schnitzel which is Pork or Chicken Schnitzel topped with mushroom and sour cream. The kitchen was a bit slow but it was worth the wait. All of the food was delicious and the service was great. We will be back. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was on a trip with family in town. The Schnitzel was ok. Maybe cooked in too much butter. I am used to the original one from Wien. The cooked Brie was very good. I was not sold and I would not come back.

Yelp
This place was amazing. The sauerkraut was wonderful. The only thing is you may want to call to see if they take a reservation for you. You might not be able to walk in specially with larger parties this place hands-down with some very good German food.

Yelp
Alpine Haus is located in a historical registered home. Much of the original brick is beautifully preserved in the dining areas. Along with artifacts from Germany, the mood is immersive in Germany culture. The wait staff is fantastic: friendly, intelligent, and quick on their feet. Soup of the day was a creamy mushroom rich with cream and sherry. The house salad dressing was a mustard dill vinaigrette that was both sweet and tangy. Such a great dressing for a crisp green salad. For our main course, there was Jagaer schnitzel, rahm schnitzel, and beef rondelet. We all opted for spatzel. If there was one small suggestion, it would be that salt was lacking. However, that's an easy fix. This was a filling and affordable meal that I highly recommend.

Yelp
Took a side trip to New Braunfels! I have been to the "Old" Braunfels in Germany so I heard a colony was stablished here in Texas back in the 1840's. Amazing place! The place has an old Braunfels feel. Ambiance is somber and old-school. They play recorded music in the back ground. 1) Food was good. Ordered the Sausage Sampler. Sausages were delicious! 2) Had a Hefeweizen beer (or two). No draft beer (sat) only bottled. It should be too difficult to have a few draft beers available but I guess those don't sale as much. 3) Server was friendly and attentive. 4) Had a cup of the mushrooms soup. Very good. Overall, this place is nice. I would return in a few visit if I happen to be in the area again. The food menu has a lot of items but not many that caught my eyes. I was hoping to find my most favorite dish the Schweinshaxe or roughly translated it is called the "Pig Knuckle" but it was not meant to be. If you are in the area I recommend you give them a try. Cheers!

Yelp
It's been several years since I've visited this terrific New Braunfels restaurant. I can't wait to go back. This is the finest German restaurant in the area (San Antonio/Austin) and should be a "must stop" for anyone that enjoys German cuisine. The service is top notch and the ambiance is upscale. Highest Recommendation.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a small older restaurant with minimal parking in the back. It is renovated and you can see that it was a house that was converted to a restaurant. We ordered pretzels, sausages, french fries, schnitzel and a goulash. The potato balls and schnitzel were delicious! The portions aren't too big. This restaurant is on the pricier side for German food. They charge extra if you share your plate with another person and I didn't like that idea. Overall, it was good but I didn't like the portion sizes and the price and the extra charge on sharing food.

Yelp
While making plans to stay for a week in New Braunfels, I was particularly interested in eating at the Alpine Haus restaurant there. Finding good German food can be difficult and based on the Yelp ratings I saw, this looked to be a real winner. Sadly, my experience did not reflect my hopes and both I and my wife were really disappointed with our meals. I did call to make a dinner reservation as I had read that often it is quite busy. We found out that there was no need to have reserved a spot that night as there were many tables open. We actually had a bit of trouble finding the venue which is set back a bit from the street with a dimly lit sign. Upon entering we were quickly seated. There were several German and Belgian beers to choose from which hit the spot. We ordered our dinners, I, the rouladen and spaetzle with a side of split pea soup and my wife, a Weiner Schnitzel and potato dumplings with a salad on the side. Both dinners included a small portion of red cabbage on the plate. Our dinners came out from the kitchen without our having first been offered our soup and salad. Our server apologized for her oversight as we pointed out the missed delivery and brought out both to accompany our meal. We were both unpleased with nearly everything on our plates. My wife had upgraded to veal for her schnitzel which bumped the cost up a bit. But with veal so hard to find in the USA anymore; she decided to treat herself. The breading veal were unremarkable and tasted kind of old, even with a lemon squeezed on the dish. The potato dumplings were so dense and unappetizing that she left them uneaten. And the red cabbage was overcooked, mushy and flavorless. To top it off, the "salad" was made up of two leaves of wilted green and red lettuce, which seemed to be almost frozen, topped with an unremarkable dressing. As for my rouladen, when served, it looked like a big brown sock stuffed with a flavorless mass onions and a couple of what may have been mushy pickles. This was inside of a couple of layers of overcooked, grainy and flavorless meat that did not appear to be top round, which is the preferred cut to make rouladen. Maybe they just cut off slices of sauerbraten to make it and called it good. Not the same thing! The gravy that covered it was weak and made with corn starch and the spaetzle didn't taste good in it as it had no rich flavor at all. And to top it off, the runny split pea soup I was served tasted like an old dish towel had been soaked in water to make the broth. A couple small bits of ham which didn't have any flavor couldn't offset its distastefulness. So disappointing to say the least. At least the beers were good. And thankfully we had one great German dinner in Fredericksburg that salvaged our Deutsch experience while in Texas. I'd suggest avoiding the Alpine Haus if you are looking for authentic German food with its typically great rich flavors.

Yelp
My son and daughter-in-law suggested this place for dinner so we figured 'why not'. Glad we went. The restaurant itself is in a historic house from the 1800s. From the outside you may wonder where they could seat people but once inside it opens up. We had reservations, which was good because it was a Saturday night and it was packed. We decided to try the sausage sampler and the soft pretzel for appetizers. Both were delicious. The sausage sample had three types of sausages with 5 pieces of each and it came with German mustard and cheese sauce. All of the sausage types were really very tasty! The pretzel was what the name implies - a very large soft pretzel with German mustard and cheese sauce. It was also very good! For entree's we had the Jager Schnitzel which is pork schnitzel with brown mushroom gravy and Rinder Rouladen, which is thin steak stuffed with pickles, onion, bacon and German mustard with brown gravy on top. Both of these items were extremely good - well prepared and flavorful. The Rouladen could easily feed two and perhaps even three! The portions were very generous, which one often only finds where flavor lacks and they are trying to make up for it with size - here, size and flavor both!! We all had the sauerkraut which was a very traditional flavored kraut and very tasty. The potato dumplings are simply amazing and you must get them! The fried potatoes were very good as well - nothing unique but prepared well. Their salads were good - nothing amazing but good. I loved the potato salad but not everyone did at the table. It is not a 'traditional' German potato salad - it is cold (as opposed to being heated) and it does have large pieces of pickle in it - not what I expected, but I really liked it. For dessert we shared an order of apple strudel and an order of the Alpine Delight (which is pecan crust pie filled with chocolate and topped with whipped cream). Both were very good! I would absolutely go back to this place. Great food, generous portions, good atmosphere and very friendly servers! If you're in New Braunfels - check this place out!

Yelp
The dining experience makes you feel like you are in your Oma's house eating. Service is spectacular. Good variety of German dishes, wines & beer.

Yelp
Really cute restaurant and seems to be authentic. Huge selection of beers but since I am pregnant, ended up going for the non alcoholic one and actually enjoyed it a lot. Everyone enjoyed the food. Hubby loved the champignon/mushroom soup. He had the goulash and was really happy with it too. I had the sautéed chicken with spaetzle and it was pretty good. A bit heavier than what I like but good.

Yelp
We were on our way to Dallas and went with the reviews... we really enjoyed the place. It's kind of hidden from the street, settled in an old house, lights dimmed and plenty of space in between tables. Typical german music in the background makes it an intimate ambiance. Service was excellent. All recommendations on beer and food were delicious. Big portions that can be shared.

Yelp
Stopped in here after Granddaughters college graduation. The place is very nice and the staff was excellent. Our server Cecilia was a very nice host and answered all of our questions. She stayed on top of things even though they became very busy. The owner I believe came by our table and was very friendly and helpful. We would for sure come back if we are in the area. By the way the food was great, for sure coming back.

Yelp
I LOOOVED the food here ! Even my son who we didn't tell we were eating here said I've never had Germain good. I'm not going to like it ended up keeping his little Germain flag lol. The ambiance was super cute ! There's fantastic little Germain clocks and I love the wreath in the middle of one of the rooms. We ended up getting there 20 minutes before they closed & they were soooo sweet and accommodated us and never made us feel rushed. We've never really had Germain food so we asked the wonderful waitress what to eat. We ended up with the baked Brie and ham. It was sooo good ! It's baked with sliced almonds and than drizzled with honey. YUUMM !! For entrees I had the sausage platter that came with soup or salad. I had the mushroom soup which is actually my favorite soup and it also came with a variety of potatoes prepared to choose from. The sausage was AMAZING !! I got the smoked & beef & cheddar. My teenager got the chicken pounded thin and fried and loved it !! He tried the sausage too and his eyes got big. That's how I know he likes something because you know teens, they can't just say it !! We are so happy that we were able to make it here.

Yelp
Quite typical German fare. Good food, filling and sufficient portions. Our server seemed a little uncomfortable, possibly new? Their beer prices were high in my opinion. All in all a good experience.

Yelp
Every time we're in the area we have to stop by here. Service and food is wonderful and I must admit we always get the same things because they are so good.

Yelp
We were beckoned in by the restaurant owner!!! He treated us like royalty including our service dog. The rest of the staff were magnificent too. This was a gorgeous piece of Germany-the restaurant was a converted law office. It was an awesome environment with German music playing We chose the lunch specials, including the schnitzel sandwich and the ham wrapped asparagus. Both were delicious !!! The accompanying salads were delicious too. This was a great experience and we would recommend this restaurant with no hesitation. It was awesome from beginning to end.

Yelp
I took my wife here for her birthday. We had a wonderful experience. Simply the best German food we've ever had. Definitely recommend everyone to go here when going to New Braunfels!

Yelp
Walked in and was seated right away which was nice! The waitress was absolutely amazing she helped us pick what to eat and even allowed us to get "kids" options. Just one bratwurst and a side of potatoes. The food was decent. Wasn't too out there or special so I'm not quite sure why everything is really over priced.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and amazing staff. The knowledge Ethan has of authentic German food adds the to experience. The old, small, building makes it feel like you're eating in a German grandmothers house.

Yelp
Very good! I'm not big on German food but it was still good! The fried mushrooms were so good and that marbeled rye that they serve before dinner is the best I've ever had! It was also my favorite part of dinner. The server was great and the place was very cute too.

Yelp
We enjoyed our time. We came later in the day with a fairy large party, fully expecting to be turned away, yet they accommodated. The food was amazing! The atmosphere was quant, but welcoming. When we find ourselves in town again, we will be back!

Yelp
A great place for German food! The restaurant is in a charming old building that is beautifully kept. We were there on a Saturday and there was a live accordion player, which was cool! The menu is small, but all of the food is good quality. The spaetzle was perfectly cooked and the sauces were flavorful. Our waiter was very good, keeping our large table's orders straight and making good banter the whole time. I would return for a unique experience that is quintessential New Braunfels.

Yelp

Yelp
Great. Quaint. Small. Excellent food. Real German cuisine with friendly service and a smile Go there have the roulade you won't be disappointed. Perfect little date or place to celebrate Thanks Alpine Haus

Yelp
I took my spouse recently and was appalled by seeing bugs and what looked like mice in the restaurant. Service was sub par and definitely not at all what we were expecting. I should have known it wasn't going to be good when I tried to make a reservation and the lady on the phone was incredibly rude. I've heard that same lady who takes reservations is rude from others that have been there but I got to find out for myself. Never going back. Nasty establishment. Clean your place and be more pleasant.

Yelp
I love German food although I am no expert on its authenticity. We chose this restaurant for a Mother's Day dinner with the entire family even though my wife is not a fan of German food. She had a schnitzel and loved it, so don't feel bad for her. Because they fry with peanut oil, my youngest could not eat any of the schnitzels. I decided that I would pass on them, as well. The two of us ordered rouladen with spatzel and red cabbage. I hate to say that I wasn't impressed. My spatzel was kind of crunchy and broke into pieces when I tried to get it on my fork. I was expecting more of a soft noodle like my Aunt Elsa from Munich used to make. I can't fault the Alpine House. Maybe crunchy is just another style? The rouladen had a tiny hint of "freezer" to me as if the meat was old. My son didn't notice. Maybe it was just me. I loved the red cabbage. I am the only one at the table that even touched it. The other three members of our party all had schnitzels and raved about them. I wish now that I had not ordered in solidarity with my youngest. I was hoping to have Black Forest Cake for dessert in honor of my mother. It was her favorite. The server overheard me talking about it and let me know right away that they were out of it. I cried inside. The bread they gave us before the meal was outstanding! I would have loved to use a piece to sop up the rest of my mushroom gravy, but alas, I did not order the jaegerschnitzle. Oh well. The beer selection was great. Don't let the prices on the online menu fool you. I ordered a beer that was $10.50 It was served in a large glass with almost another glass worth still in the bottle.

Yelp
This is such a gem and I am so glad we gave it a try! Me and my husband came here for a later date night dinner while in the area. We called ahead and were able to be seated right when we arrived which was nice. I loved that the restaurant is inside of a house and the way it was decorated was very cozy. The staff were friendly and brought us menus and water. I ordered the cordon blue schnitzel with potato dumplings and red cabbage. It also came with the option of a salad or soup as a starter. I went with the garlic soup and it was delicious! When my entree arrived I thought it was a good size and dug in! The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and the dumplings were such a delicious comfort food side. The red cabbage was also really good and balanced out the richness of the dish. My husband really enjoyed his meal as well and we enjoyed the more intimate setting of the place. Overall a winner in my book!

Yelp
Cute and in a historic home; you'll find this little gem tucked off the road a bit. The Rinder Goulash was all meat and 3 pieces of carrot - I would compare it to American stew with no veggies (I was really hoping for some veggies in it) - but it was good. The cordon bleu had unmelted cheese on the outside and a thick mayo layer with ham layer on top, was not a hit, at all. The mushroom soup and the salad were both a hit! Overall, we decided we would give it another try one day.

Yelp
We had dinner for 7 adults on July 27, 2024. Our reservation was for 6:00 and we were on time. Our table was ready. The atmosphere was comfortable in temperature and ambiance. We shared and enjoyed 2 Appetizers very much. Our various Entrees were delicious and more than ample. Seven alcoholic beverages were served as well as water and iced tea. Our server was a charmer and added fun to the experience. A nice fellow played an accordion for tips! He was gracious and talented. It was a lovely experience. I would give 5 stars, but at the end of our meal we asked about dessert and coffee. We were told with apologies that they were out of both! Seems odd. We were disappointed. Our bill was $348 and change. We tipped accordingly. I recommend Alpine Haus, just don't expect dessert!
