The lovely dark skinned princess working at the counter was so helpful when we weren’t sure on what to get. I loved this place. Would make it a monthly brunch spot if I lived in Stockholm Eggs Benedict waffle was tummy abs everybody else loved their food also

Google
It is a nice place with really good food. We went there for the gluten-free waffles. They were very nice. However the place was overcrowded with a couple of screaming kids. Maybe not go there on a Saturday with sunny weather ☺️ The staff worked their butts off so kudos to them

Google
First fika here ! The decor is incredible, the music even more. Love this place, the coffee was good, the cinnamon bun too, the service was quick and the waitress was very kind and welcoming. I'll come back one day !

Google
The decor is nice, diner style. The food is only okay, lacked flavour. The portion of the Västerbotten waffle was really small, and you could barely taste the Västerbotten a not worth the price. And the vegan one really lacked flavour, and had a big block of vegan feta in the middle. The mimosas were flat and diluted. The waffle by itself is good.

The waffle based dishes here are a WOW! And love the decor.

Google
Absolutely a must!!! A time capsule to the past with its unique decoration. Among the items colourful items displayed all around this is one of the best decorated café! We loved all we tried (except the sweet waffle with fruits, acking cream, the one with jam & cream is superb though). Salty waffkes are also very tasty! Cosy, friendly, unique... I go there regularly as one gets addicted :)

Google
One of the best places to grab breakfast or lunch, the waffles are cooked perfectly with a great mix of ingredients to go with them (I suggest the Starka Pippi). The atmosphere is also very cozy with lots of antiques and 50s music playing in the background. Will definitely be a place I continue to come back to.

Google
Quaint cafe in Södermalm with tons of menu items that are gluten free or vegan by default, or can easily be made either. Lots of breakfast classics, like Eggs Benedict (yes, gluten free and can be vegan). Everything we had was great, including the coffee. So many interesting menu items that we have to come back to taste some more. Service was good and quick. They have both indoor and outdoor (sidewalk) seating.

Yelp
This is such a cute homey place. Yes it is touristy, but hey that's what I am and it does have a lot of local Swedes as well. As I am a tourist, I got that crazy milkshake with a cinnamon bun on top of it just for good measure of course. The cinnamon buns in Sweden are obviously exceptional as they originated from there- crunchy on the outside and warm, melted, soft cinnamon goodness on the inside. The waffles are delicious as well, regardless of which waffle you get. All in all, this is a great place to go to if you're visiting Stockholm!

Yelp
Super adorable little spot, furnished with thrifted furniture and decorated with vintage ads and items. The wait staff all wear vintage style outfits as well. I'm not sure what Swedish waffles and 1950s diners have in common, but this place makes it work for sure. We came in on a Sunday morning, and were able to get seated right away. My cousin and I both had the raspberry waffle with whipped cream (75 sek, approx $8USD.). The waffle was perfectly crispy and the jam was delicious, but it wasn't a particularly filling for the price, really just a treat. They had fancier offerings as well, for a bit more money, as well as savory combinations. I overheard from a neighboring table that you can order a waffle with both whipped cream and ice cream. Where was this information when I was ordering? Oh well, next time. I would visit Älskade Traditioner again, but perhaps only for dessert. Alternatively I may try one of their savory options for a full meal.

Yelp
Swedish waffles! Super friendly 1950s servers! Thinner, slightly crispier waffle and comes in many fun ways to eat - especially sandwich form! The best part was I found this place here after being so cold from walking a bit too long outside and a family was leaving that lead me to peek inside. The place was super cute and a packed house meant that something has to be good. FYI - I came back 2x - it was so good! I think they do everything well here and when you're in Sweden, get Swedish waffles, get the skagen (shrimp salad), or anything here! Coffee and water is self serve. On the weekends, they have the Oatley milk which is delicious! I wish I had some stomach space for the sweet waffles, so if you have a couple of friends to share with do it! Otherwise, my fav was the waffle royal egg sandwich.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! We were looking for a swedish waffle place and Yelp led us here & per usual, Yelp didn't lead us astray! The decor here is all 1950's-esque and apparently all the owner's family's collection...down to the coffee mugs! The owner, who was a wonderfully kind lady, helped us through our indecision and questions. EVERYTHING is good here. From the lingonberry waffle to the bacon, egg & avocado waffle savory waffle to the pies, you really can't go wrong. I also had the best Kanelbullar (Swedish Cinnamon Rolls) here especially since they were fresh out of the oven.

Yelp
Very cute dessert shop with amazing waffles! They're thinner, lighter, and more crisp than American waffles and the sweetness is more subtle. We had the rhubarb waffle (topped with ice cream, rhubarb, and strawberries) which was in season as well as the rhubarb donut. We also had a rhubarb lemonade, warm apple cider (topped with cardamom on whipped cream), and a chocolate ball. Everything was so good I can't pick out my favorite!

Yelp
Located conveniently in the middle of Katrina Bangatan, I'd highly suggest taking a pause in your mid-day promenade to grab a quick bite in one of Stockholm's only waffle-specializing cafés. They nail the traditional Swedish waffle flawlessly; the raspberry jam is neither lip-puckering sour nor sickeningly sweet, either of which I've experienced in prior waffle experiences elsewhere. The whipped cream is sinfully indulgent, but they dollop just the right amount to blend the jam and waffle together. The waffle itself has just the right amount of crisp on the edges, and is a bit softer on the insides. I'll be honest and say that my first impression wasn't perhaps the most alluring; I ordered one of their savory waffles and was a bit disappointed. It was a vegetarian eggs-benedict waffle wrap, and perhaps I should have known from the start that it was a bit too ambitious to be good. The avocado overpowered the waffle, and both the sauce & waffle left an oily aftertaste following the avocado. But I came back to try their sweet waffles, and I'm glad I did. Service staff is incredibly friendly, and the cozy 50s style interior design makes it a great place to sit down and do work in. Would recommend!

Yelp
Yummy! The menu is all in Swedish but the cashier spoke English and helped me figure out what to get. The fresh fruit waffle was absolutely delicious. The waffle was perfectly thin and crispy just like the Bruxie in LA :) The atmosphere is a cute American style diner and the service is very quick as well.

Yelp
This was the best dining experience I think I've ever had. If I could rate this place 6/5 stars, I would. People that are dairy-free, THIS is the place for you. I became lactose intolerant 2 years ago and have not had a decent milkshake since. The service was AMAZING here and made me a milkshake with dairy-free salted caramel ice cream, oat milk, and even vegan whipped cream. I have never had a dairy free milkshake that creamy and packed with flavor. Additionally- my friend and I split the Eggs Benedict Waffle and loved it. It was a bit messy but what it lacked for in cleanliness it made up for in flavor!

Yelp
Very good waffles. Have both savory and sweet. The waffles are thin and a little crispy. Great place and atmosphere!
google avatar

Aly H.

Yelp
Come here with an appetite! There are both savory and sweet items here, with large portions. Delicious! If you split two dishes with a friend, they will split it for you, which is thoughtful. The coffee is served in mugs (with various designs), which is unique and sustainable. English menu and free Wi-Fi available upon request.

Yelp
Nice to see that the old boring Pause cafe previously here has been replaced by some people who are enthusiastic about what they are doing and have a clear vision. The cafe Älskade Traditioner feels like a Swedish take on a classic American diner. They have a very retro decor, old brand posters on the walls, a jukebox (possible to select the music) and a mix of old furniture. They serve a lot of home made pastries and cookies (looks nice) but also different types of waffles. Both food waffles (called wraffles) and regular sweet waffles. In addition to that there are salads, smoothies, coffee and tra. The coffee is pretty decent, Johan&Nyström is the roaster but the execution is not always top notch. Still much better than in most cafes. The food is unfortunately a bit better in theory than it tastes, a lot of the stuff sounds great and I really like the idea but the execution somewhat fails. The food is decent but it does not really lift. The sweet stuff is better and perhaps that should be the focus. The staff are very friendly and helpful so easy to like the place. Free wifi and plenty of space also are strong points here. It is sort of worth a 3.5 rating but I will give it a 4 rather than a 3 as the service is good, a lot of the stuff is really nice and the food will perhaps improve a bit as well.

Yelp
This coffee shop is well known for their well baked pastries along side their celebrated freakshakes and spectacular waffles. I would recommend this place if you are prepared to spend quite a bit of money on not only a coffee but for the experience. Super easy to order for locals or tourists too. This coffee shop is amazingly decorated on the interior. As it is covered in 50's posters and objects. Although the bathroom may freak you out with the dolls and traditional children's toys. I had a great time and a day I won't forget.

Yelp
Very cute and cozy cafe. The staff is very friendly. My friends and I ordered meatball and chocolate ball, they tasted so gooooood. Highly recommended go and feel FIKA is Stockholm. :)
google avatar

Yelp
Came in for a quick pastry, but the freak shake was calling my name. They have several kinds, but I had the strawberry shake topped with strawberry filled cookie, strawberry glazed donut, whipped cream, and sprinkles. To say this thing was amazing is to sell it short. Gave me a delicious sugar rush followed by an intense food coma. The staff was very kind and helpful. Swing by and give this place a try if you find yourself with a sweet tooth.

Yelp
We were visiting Stockholm and decided to stop here for an afternoon snack. This place has the cutest decor. If you want a more restaurant feel you can sit at the tables but if you want a more cafe feel, you can sit on the couches. We ordered a rhubarb waffle and lemonade and a latte. The waffle was amazing, thin, perfectly crispy and the filling wasn't too sweet. The lemonade tasted super fresh. Service was also great. This was probably my favorite restaurant I've visited in Stockholm and would be on my list to go back to if I ever visited again.

Yelp
This is a nice, retro cafe with a wide variety in waffles and fika generally. You order and they serve it to you. The waffles are thin but big and the topping is as much as it should be. Friendly stuff is a plus and the prices that are normal I can say. The nutella waffle was 98kr. The thing that I don't like is that they close early on weekends, around 18:00. Oh and that they have a scale on the WC that shows you that you weigh 5kg more! Thanks for making me feel ashamed for eating my waffle

Yelp
Where to start? From the beautifully, carefully chosen interior or super special menu?! This place is a complete heaven for café lovers! I have a hand in interior designing myself( well, more like a hobby) & I just couldn't get over how they put together an old American diner style with old countryside Swedish style & it all worked out like it was meant to be mixed! They have all sorts of vintage Swedish China cups next to a huge jukebox & traditional Swedish pastry & its all flawless! I gotta admit that it takes a whole lot of courage to decorate a place like that & I loved it! As for the breakfast/ brunch menu, they had this amazing waffles with different kinds of toppings & a breakfast menu & four kinds of milkshakes. I think there is something for everyone on that menu to choose from. At first when I looked at the menu, I thought it was a bit pricey but when I got my gigantic waffle I thought it was all worth it. I have been to many cafes in Stockholm area & usually when you order a ham & cheese sandwich you get a bread with basically ham & cheese & maybe a small piece of paprika or cucumber but they had this extra touch with some dressing & some rocket salad in their sandwich that I really appreciated. The staff were super friendly & attentive. The cafe is located in one of the oldest quarters of Stockholm that is a must-see for tourists. Last but not least, they have free Wi-fi!

Yelp
This place is a time travel! I just love it! Amazing food and atmosphere. If you want to experience STOCKHOLM in the fifties, visit this little diner.

Yelp
This is probably the best cafe I've ever found in my 3 years living in Stockholm! It was not hard to find and the cute chairs with heart-shaped backs were adorable! It was already a good sign. I walk in and see a framed picture of the King of Rock, Elvis Presley! I turn to my right and see a little girl with a "Freakshake" which is this gigantic shake with cookies and donuts and sprinkles and whipped cream. It looked delicious! I got the Nutella waffle though. Honestly it was so good! It had a scoop of chicory coated vanilla ice cream in the middle. It wasn't your typical small waffle. This was big! It had whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, Nutella, and strawberry! It was the best waffle ever. If you're a waffle enthusiast, I recommend this place. All for 98 SEK. The interior was cute and retro. I will definitely be coming here with my whole family! Thank you :)

Yelp
Found this place on a reddit thread and LOVED IT!!!! We had cloudberry waffles, ligonberry waffles, blueberry waffles and the Swedish fika milkshake! HOLY YUM!!!! Would suggest to ANYONE coming to Stockholm!!!

Yelp
This is my happy place in Stockholm. From the great classic 50s decor to the funky milkshakes and insane waffles! It's a treat for the senses

Yelp
For a unique meal in Stockholm, Älskade Traditioner is a must visit. We stopped in during lunch and enjoyed the savory Skagen waffle and steak (Biff) waffle. I am a huge Skagen lover and their waffle version was great. Loved the salad inside! However, the steak waffle was EXTRA great! It had wonderful flavor and tasty fillings along with the beef. We of course had a Fika shake, too! It's hard to pass up a decked out coffee ice cream milkshake topped with a Knallbulle!! If you are in Söder, you must visit here. English speakers welcome, don't be shy!
google avatar

Katie E.

Yelp
absolutely delicious. we went on a sunday morning for brunch and didn't have to wait at all! if you ask, there's an english-language menu, so there wasn't a language issue despite being far from any touristy areas or sites. I had the nutella waffle and a fika milkshake, which comes with a kanelbulle on top - for a milkshake aficionado like me, to die for. it was by far the best kanelbulle I had in stockholm, too. the interior was a 50s diner with a swedish twist, and the waitresses were wearing the cutest print skirts and aprons. make sure to go inside the bathroom - it's got tons of quirky stuff inside.

Yelp
Super cozy spot with an open layout that is great for families. They even have a little bouncing baby seat in the bathroom to occupy your child! Great place to go if some people in your group are hungry for food (waffle wraps) and some people just want coffee or fika. The nutella waffle is delicious and great to share if you are craving something sweet. While the chocolate shake is good, it is definitely more on the chocolate milk spectrum as far as texture goes and isn't thick and creamy like most would hope for in a shake.
