"This traditional restaurant is one of the city’s more charming spots to enjoy classic German seafood. Decorated like a cozy inn, the space features wooden walls and beams, ocean-themed paintings, blue linens, and a special table situated in a replica of a ship’s prow (complete with a steering wheel), all of which conjures a distinctly maritime ambience. A location near the famous Hamburg Fish Market ensures fresh fish delivered daily, which the restaurant works into such dishes as pasta with shrimp, Pannfisch , and delicious lobster soup. Also available are meat-centric, Asian-inspired, and even vegetarian dishes, as well as a top-notch wine list with German, European, and international varietals."
Soups were interesting and tasty.
The main dishes were not so good: eggs with Krabben were overdone; Labskaus was standard.
The atmosphere and service were ok, but nothing special.
And for all of this the price was too high...

This is a place, if you want to taste authentic north-german food. My wife and I ordered the Hamburg Eel Soup, "Lange Anna" and Pickled Young Herring ala Helgoland.
1. Lange Anna : Flaky texture of the fish fillets. The sauce was so smooth. The cheesy and creamy flavour profile of the sauce were perfect for cold days. The basmati rice was a superb side dish to soak up the sauce.
2. Pickled Young Herring ala Helgoland : The three different sauces were the highlights of this dish. This was an acquired taste for foreign tourists though. However, this was one of the iconic dishes of North Germany.
3. Hamburg Eel Soup : The acidic taste of the soup brightened the fishy aroma. However, the restaurant could work on taste of the eel in the future. The strong freshwater aroma, especially from the skin and fat layer of the eel pieces somewhat disturbed. Slightly bigger, more eel pieces or using smoked eels instead of the fresh one could have accentuated this dish better.

The food here is fantastic! I had the seabass, and it was absolutely delicious 😋. It was perfectly marinated with lemon and herbs, making every bite even more flavorful 🍋🌿.
While the food portions are generous, the drinks are quite small in size 🍽️🥤.
The atmosphere is just lovely – such a great vibe to enjoy your meal! ✨🍴 You should definitely give it a try! 👍

Great restaurant in a beautiful location. Crayfish soup was very interesting, different to other crayfish soups I’ve had in my life - more creamy and filling rather than bouillon style. Pannfisch was absolutely delicious, the same as Lange Anna. The portions were also filling and enough. The staff was super friendly and smiley, all in all we absolutely loved it there. :)

Fish soups were really good. We have tried eel and crab.
As main course, we have tried mixed fish and pike with risotto. If I visit here next time, I wouldn't order mixed plate. Pike Perch was good.

Very nice location, cozy, and beautiful with all the furniture, looking like an old ship and with a remainder to the fish market. The food was amazing, I recommend to try the shrimp soup. They also have a good list of wines, some of them you can take in small portions, like a glass or two. Service was also professional and speaking both German and English, like it should be everywhere in Hamburg.

Today dinner, I was really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately my experience as a foreign visitor was disappointing.
When I first arrived, I was told the restaurant was fully booked. However, a few minutes later I was able to make a reservation online and returned — only to be told again that there were no available tables.
I eventually got seated, but the way I was treated felt cold and dismissive.
I hope the restaurant will treat future guests — especially international ones — with more clarity and kindness.
The food was decent, but the experience left a bitter aftertaste.

Second testing after two years - and indeed a great place to come to experience professional and friendly service, and good dishes. Especially - obviously as next to the fish market in Hamburg - local and foreign fresh fish. Quite traditional in the food composition but very well done
So come here to see locals and thee well-informed tourists enjoying a good bite, down at the waterfront in Altona. Good to combine with a stroll up to the Reeperbahn or follow the river to the city centre

Yelp
Out of all the places we tried in Hamburg, this place had the best service. Our waitress was the most gracious, displaying poise and warmth; just very well-mannered. It was a lazy Saturday afternoon and the fischmarkt area was almost dull and vacant, but in the morning it would be busy with local vendors and hagglers. Meantime, we dined in this impressive, but casual restaurant. I started with Aalsuppe. It was eel soup. The broth was clear and clean with a hint of smokiness and sweetness. Not fishy at all, but had a subtle taste of eel. I highly recommend it. It tasted so good. I was so curious for the labskaus for it was uniquely Hamburg. Meat mixed and all mashed in with beets, onions and maybe potatoes, then topped with fried eggs and served with rollmops(pickled herring). I was glad we tried it, but it didn't stand out compared to Pannfisch- lightly fried filet of fish in a creamy mustard sauce sauce, accompanied by potatoes. I wish I had that instead. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the dinner experience here.

Yelp
Great place to have dinner eating typical food of hamburg: fish!
Nice interior, great and nice service, beer and wine, quick service.
For us this evening was the last of a few days in hamburg; a real great finish!

Yelp
We totally love the ambiance of the place! The start of service was fast and we did not wait very long for the food to be served. The food itself is very good! All of us have nothing to complain about our respective orders. The price is slightly higher to what we normally spend on an ordinary weekend with friends, however, it is justifiable!!
End of service is, sadly, very slow. Originally, we wanted to order desserts and drinks as we wanted to stay longer... But after waiting and waiting and waiting for how long, we decided to just get the bills versus ordering anew. They have no problem with "seperate" bills & just need to request for it.
I wanted to give them 4.5 rate, but as there is no 0.5 they ended up at 4. We will definitely go back!!

Yelp
Charming space. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Warm and welcoming. Efficient service. Fantastic seafood. Great drinks. Reasonably priced. Classy, but not at all stuffy. The Labskaus was excellent. It's kind of like a seafood tartare. Lovely. Excellent soups and sauces. Highly recommended. Would definitely return.

Yelp
Classy, great seafood. Really good restaurant serving some fish specialities from Hamburg.
