I stayed there a few times in the past year. The hotel itself was great, however the attached Browns Socialhouse needs Cultural Safety Training of some sort. I’ll give them a direct review when I’m not so angry and in my depth of grief at this time. I have no issues with the Alt Hotel as a visible Indigenous individual, and will return in the future. It’s always been clean, and they replenish the coffee daily. Thumbs up!

While the room was clean and new, they use European sizing for their beds. Meaning you’ll pay Queen bed price for a smaller than standard “queen size bed”. This information isn’t in the booking or on the website, so quite deceptive. There is also a very open concept washroom (you can see into the shower/washroom from the bedroom). So not ideal for two people. When we reached out to complain, staff were not helpful. At least update the website for transparency.

Great hotel, amazing staff. Downtown location walkable to many museums. Note , though, that downtown is really rundown and lots of homeless or those who just hang around. It's not a destination. Rooms are nice, clean and modern. Lovely lobby seating area where we spent time. We picked up dinner and had that in the lobby area. They have a cute lobby bar.

Had a fantastic time at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very nice. Given than it's downtown Winnipeg there is a security guard at night for added safety. The location is prime and central. Would absolutely stay again.

I stayed two nights and the experience was a pleasant one. The cleanliness is excellent, the atmosphere and decoration provide a quality environment. The customer service is good and the employees look for ways to make your stay better. Regarding the parking, there is a building right behind so it is not a problem to find parking. You have to pay for it but as a guest they give you a card that facilitates access to the hotel. The only detail that in my opinion is not the best is the bar, it is extra small (maybe a few three chairs). The bartender staff is very friendly, but if you are looking for a place to have some drinks in the hotel you will not find it. In general it was a nice and pleasant experience so personally I would return.

Perfect location in the heart of Winnipeg. You can park in the adjacent garage with a direct walkway to the hotel. They do not offer breakfast but we were able to find a perfect breakfast location (Stella´s) nearby. The area looks a bit shady at night, but we didn´t have any trouble.

The pillows are the fluffiest I ever felt, and good thing the exercise room is open 24/7.||great view from my room on downtown and the Canada Life center . Walking distance from all major facilities , and Pubs. nice cozy atmosphere . Ice machines on 2 different floors, and last but not least you have a Liquor shop just around the corner. Lol

$50 "booking fee", $211 for a room that was a utility closet, $24 for parking. Horrible service. Horrible experience. And to top it off, $120 "cleaning fee" because I had a slight nosebleed while I slept. Like, do they clean the sheets after a guest leaves? I thought they did. Never staying there again.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this Hotel in Downtown Winnipeg but it's just too inconvenient and lacks the most basic amenities and features if you are staying more than 2-3 days. I stayed here for a week and a half. The staff tried to be helpful but many of them had no idea what was open around town, couldn't make restaurant suggestions outside of the one next door and had no idea how to go about using their third party laundry service. They all just work. This location is right next to the life centre so great for short stays but be prepared for the two restaurants nearby to be jam packed if there are any events. I would also add that the hotel is beautiful inside and the rooms were updated nicely. The function of the rooms need major work. All in all, if I were staying for a short time (2-3 days), I would come back. Any longer stay, I would choose a different hotel in a better part of the city. PROS: - Close to the life centre & has 2 restaurant/bars right next door. - Beautiful hotel and clean/updated rooms - Nicely setup for storage space in the bathroom - Blackout curtains - Above average gym equipment - Many taxis in the area CONS: - No water provided for guests - Only 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels provided - Super small shower that leaks everywhere - The two pane windows are very thin and you can expect to hear every yell, every siren and every speeding motorcycle in your room, as the sounds echo off of the buildings. I was woken up at least 4 times per night from all the noise. - Staff is not very knowledgeable or helpful in helping you find places to go. They also don't make it easy to grab a coffee or a drink since they have to make it in the back. - No on-site laundry services - The rooms require you to insert your card to turn on the lights, that are located at the door. Super inconvenient and kind of a silly feature. Just let people hit the light switch like normal. - I tried taking a call in the lobby lounge but the staff vacuums the lobby for a while every morning while people are coming and going. This work should be done in the evenings. - The lights in the lobby can give you vertigo. They constantly slowly strobe on and off. It's another "artistic" feature that doesn't really work for a lobby.

Yelp
Alright, despite my four star rating, I want to clarify that this is not a "four-star" hotel in terms on amenities. However, for the price you pay and the location, it's pretty good. The hotel is quite modern and new. Their lockboxes are electronic and seem to be wi-fi enabled or something. In order to turn on the lights, you need to insert your key card into a slot near the door. I kind of like this as it helps save electricity. The beds were super comfy as well. While breakfast is only continental, I'm glad there was something. The location is also good as it is right across from the MTS Centre and only a short walk from the Convention Centre. It's good for a short stay.

Yelp
Can I just copy and paste Bernie C's review? This hotel exactly fit my needs as I was in town for a Jets game. Right across the street from the rink and good internet service so I could work during the day before the game. The modern flair of everything was neat, but not many frills aside from the internet. Perfectly good for my two night stay but I think I would want a little more for a longer vacation.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! Everything and everyone was absolutely amazing! I had communicated via Expedia message that we were celebrating my friends clean cancer scan by going to Cher. Driving 8 hours to Winnipeg from Minneapolis. These amazing people gave us a fabulous room on the 19th floor... And.... When we checked in..... A flower arrangement with a beautiful hand made note was sitting on the desk, welcoming us and cheering on my beautiful friend, celebrating her strength and courage. Cher cancelled due to illness and if it works for all of these amazing people we really would have been down. So.... Many many thanks to Alt, Ace, Sharon, Catherine, Sahil, Nicholas, Mursal and Dwayne.... And if I missed anyone I am so sorry. We had a most amazing time, despite Cher cancelling. We are anticipating a new date. We pray we can get back there and we will surely stay at Alt and say hello to our new friends! THANK YOU ALL AT ALT! YOU ARE THE EPITOME OF EXCELLENCE IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY!!!

Yelp
I stayed here for a business trip and found the staff to be harassing and incompetent. They charged me incorrectly and took no responsibility for the error. Do yourself a favor and stay in a better part of town with better customer service.
