Alta House Hotel

I was really looking forward to my stay here, but unfortunately it was disappointing from start to finish. ||We stayed in one of their apartments and the biggest issue was the constant loud construction directly above our room. From morning through late afternoon, we had to deal with drilling, banging, and noise that made it impossible to relax or enjoy the space. When I raised concerns, there was no effort to accommodate us as guests, no offer to move rooms, no alternative, and no gesture of customer service. Instead, we were simply told we just had to deal with it. When I raised concerns, the hotel repeatedly ignored my messages. I specifically asked for someone to come speak with us in person, but instead we only received generic responses - again telling us we just had to deal with it. This left us feeling completely dismissed and unsupported as guests||On top of that, the room itself lacked even the most basic necessities. There were no garbage bins, no paper towels, and very limited supplies provided. For a hotel at this price point, I expect at least the essentials.||I booked this place hoping for a peaceful, relaxing stay in a beautiful area. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and wishing I had chosen another option. Until the hotel makes serious improvements both in communication with guests and in the amenities provided, I would not recommend it

We have just returned from a 2 night stay in Begur after disembarking a cruise ship in Barcelona. Begur is an authentic Catalan town with an upmarket feel; it is a real hidden gem. Please be aware that Begur is not a coastal town and we hired a car to visit the stunning local coastline.||While in Begur, we stayed at the Alta House Hotel which was outstanding and which we can highly recommend to anyone considering a stay in Begur.||The Alta House Hotel is a 3 Star establishment which felt more 4 Star in our opinion. The hotel is centrally located near to the castle, main square and all the other restaurants, bars, tapas, shops etc. We booked a room with a double bed which was fresh, well maintained, spotlessly clean and contemporary. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the air conditioning was very effective as was the complementary WiFi. We pre-booked a parking space at a small additional cost for our hire car and this was a very short walk from the hotel.||Breakfast was included in our room rate and was authentic with high quality local ingredients. It was served on a shaded terrace area near the small swimming pool; it felt like a calming oasis which gave us a great start to each day.||Service at the Alta House Hotel was exemplary. We were greeted upon arrival by the very able and friendly Angela who told us everything that we needed to know about the hotel, Begur itself and the surrounding areas. Angela is very knowledgeable and kept checking in with us during our stay to ensure all was good. We also enjoyed meeting Qamil who is the Manager and who leads a very professional and well run operation. When arriving for breakfast, we were asked for our room number and this was a trigger for our bedroom to be immediately serviced.||The hotel also has a roof top bar and, upon arrival, we were invited for a complementary cocktail at this venue. The views from the roof top bar were of the castle, town and the coastline; they were both dramatic and scenic. We thoroughly enjoyed this venue and became a repeat customer.||Thank you Angela, Qamil and all your colleagues at the Alta House Hotel. Our stay was a special one which we will remember for many years!

We absolutely adored our 4 night stay at Alta House! Quiet, cozy, and beautiful decor. The staff is so friendly, we loved chatting with them! Cozy bed, great working AC, amazing shower, beautiful relaxing pool area, and the terrace has incredible views of the surrounding area. The hotel is a short block from the main town center, and is super quiet and peaceful. It was a short 10-15 minute drive to 3+ BEAUTIFUL beaches with the clearest turquoise water. We would absolutely stay here again!

I went on a vacation trip with my partner and we stayed at Alta House Hotel. We were warmly welcomed by all the staff, who were kind and friendly. The hotel is quiet, and the rooms were perfect—clean, well-equipped, and with air conditioning. It’s located in the city centre, which was amazing because there are not so many options of dinning near the beaches, however there are buses to the beaches, around 10 min walk from the hotel. Additionally, the garden with the swimming pool was beautiful and peaceful. Overall, our experience was perfect, and the hotel exceeded our expectations! The price was very reasonable.

This is perfection. Alta House is peaceful, classy, excellence, with the most wonderfully welcoming team of staff. This is our second visit, this time we came with our adult children and their partners. First the beds are really comfortable, so important to have great sleep. The hotel is high quality with a beautiful garden where you can enjoy a great breakfast. The roof top terrace is spectacular, the views are amazing. The pool is very welcome. There’s so many great things to do in the area and the most beautiful beaches Europe has to offer a short distance away. There’s so many excellent restaurants in Begur, with is such a perfect town to have as a holiday base. We adore this hotel, are sad to leave but we will be coming back. Thank you Alta house we’ve had a perfect holiday.

Great small hotel located in the beautiful old town of Begur. We had no idea what to expect with regards to the town but discovered a great small town with a lovely bustling town plaza filled with bars and restaurants. The Alta house is located just around the corner from the square and is a modern hotel on the inside but the architecture from the outside respects the old tradition. We had a lovely room with a terrace. Great breakfast was provided around the beautiful pool area. The roof top bar must be great in the season with wonderful views. Qmil (I think I got it right, sorry of not) is one of the proprietors and aways seemed to be on duty. Very helpful with great suggestions. If going to Begur get a table at Roc Al Mar one coast. Fantastic location with great fish cooked over flame.

This place is cute, clean, well-located, great breakfast. I researched hotels in the area for a long time - because I wanted to work somewhere cosy for 5 days on a big project I had. And I was just a bit disappointed this place isn't better (as good as other reviews suggest). The common area is tiny (the picture on this site is shot from an angle that makes it look bigger than it is). So it is very hard to relax by the pool or work outside. And the staff are friendly, but don't go "above and beyond". Most things you ask for are a "no - not possible". And this is not right next to the beach... you'll spend a lot of time in the hotel, and you really wish it was a bit cosier / friendlier etc. So... I would recommend staying here, but you'll like it / not love it.

Poor Customer Service I had to change my travel plans due to a sudden family bereavement. Despite giving a week’s notice, I was told simply it was 'not possible' to refund the booking. A lack of compassion in such circumstances is very disappointing.
