Getting Lost in Mongolia, the World's Last Truly Nomadic Realm

"Mandala Altai, our home for the next four days. It felt splendidly remote, a place removed from the world's complexities and our own petty struggles. On a far hillside I could see the miniature figure of a horseman. Even at this great distance, I could hear the soft murmur of the hooves. With their womblike embrace, gers are the accommodation of choice in Mongolia. While maintaining the atmosphere of the nomads' tents, the visitors' version across the country has reached a level of glamping luxury that is surprising in such remote regions. Furnished with patterned Mongolian chests and tables, Mandala Altai had beds piled with luxury linens. Each ger is centered around a woodburning stove; in the early mornings an attendant would creep in to light it so the tent was cozy when we awoke. An adjoining ger acted as a spacious bathroom with hot water, an elegant open shower, and a compost loo. A central dining ger was the setting for evening aperitifs and lavish meals."

This year will be my 10th visit to the Tavan Bogd National Park in remote northwest Mongolia. I love it! I love its remote wilderness, the expansive skies, the flowing streams and always the majestic Altai Mountains form a backbone to the journey culminating in the five peaks and the Potanin glacier. Last year the wildflowers were stunning! Wilderness adventure, natural beauty, physical challenge, flowing streams, and nomadic families herding their animals. It's magic every time.

This is such a great awesome experience for me. Im from indonesia. And if you want to go there you need a long time travel. You need a visa of course. This is a ice mountain hv high 4.374 masl. You must have a equipment ice hiking like crampons, rope, and harnest. And then you must knowing about technical ice hiking. This mountain even just for professional hike. If you want to go there and you not professional you need mountain guide, in bayan ulgii have a lot of mountain guide everywhere you want likes khuiten peak, malchin peak, nairamdal peak, etc. Several tourist just wants to looking for a beautifull view from the basecamp cause from there you can see five biggest high mountain in mongolia. And if you want to easily hiking any tourist go to Malchin peak cause just need basic equipment and you just walk to go top. Im the first team from Indonesia has been hiking Khuiten Peak Mongolia. if you need more information you can sent message for me by email. Thankyou!

Amazing and beautiful mountain range and park. Do not expect modern facilities then again you won't get there without a local guide anyway. 175klm off rod drive from Ulugi. I recommend staying for a week to trek and explore the area.
