We love visiting AlTapas Spanish tapas restaurant near Studio Hotel, we had a nice bottle of Tempranillo wine, grilled shrimp, meatballs in a red wine sauce, papa bravas, stewed pork feet with chickpeas and finished it with a crème brûlée for desert. You know it’s a good quality restaurant when they serve you an an amuse-bouche plus a couple of sparkling cavas on the house. We actually came in at 3:30 PM and had a couple of tapas and came back at 6:30PM for more. When I closed my eyes, I truly thought I was right in the middle of Spain.

My partner and I came for dinner and we are very pleased by the service and food quality. We were received by the owner with a glass of Cava which a espumante Catalonian drink. We order Beef tenderloin, meatballs in wine sauce and the typical potato omelette; all of them really good! We tried the Spanish beer wheat based with excellent taste. Location is very convenient right across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn.

Excellent friendly service with complememtary tortilla, cava and pacharan (digestive). Quality tapas restaurant. Best yet in Costa Rica - we had albondigas and pan con tomate con anchoas, crema catalana. And have to mention that the bottle of Spanish albariño was lush. Can't recommend it highly enough

Truly incredible food with a lovely host to explained everything. A real Spanish classics as authentic as it gets. What a pleasant surprise to find here in San Jose.

I went there with a group of friends and we had the most amazing meal. The host and restaurant owner was superb and shared with us interesting stories and facts about our dishes. They have recommendations and plate variations for vegetarians, which was perfect for our group. Both vegetarian and traditional dishes were amazing. Great service and great food! Will definitely come back!!

The Lomito was absolutely delicious as well as the meatballs and calamari. Staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend

An authentic cuisine proposal, simple and rich dishes at the right price. Ambience and service are well beyond the price point: a high point for sure. Food and drink selections are nicely coordinated, so you should not have a problem finding the right wine for any dish on the menu. And make sure you ask for the out-of-menu specials: there is something new every day.

Amazing service and food. Ate here by a happy accident as our intended destination next door was unexpectedly closed. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We were made to feel at home and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Beautiful setting and good variety in the tapas menu
