Altarocca Wine Resort

Altarocca was the best stay of our entire trip and one of the best places I've ever been to. Their rooms are very comfortable, well designed, and very peaceful. The grounds are so gorgeous. Beautiful views, and a solid mix of modern and rustic winery vibes. The restaurant above all is absolutely fantastic. Roberto and Mattia took such good care of us. They were so friendly and helpful each time we visited. They went above and beyond for us and were a genuine delight to see each time we visited the restaurant. We did the wine tour and tasting, and we did dinner twice during our visit. The food here was the best we've had on our trip. Other food was great, but this food was especially incredible. They should be on their way to a Michelin start or at least a recommendation. Their restaurant goes beyond great food and encapsulates great service and a truly great experience. I can't recommend the place more. For what it's worth, I do think they can improve their spa experience to be more in line with what Americans would expect from a spa. Other than that, I plan on visiting here again soon.

Altarocca is a beautiful place to stay while visiting Orvieto. The rooms are super comfortable and clean and the views are incredible. The spread at breakfast is varied. The restaurant produces excellent well presented meals accompanied by superb wines. The spa is an experience not to be missed. At every point the staff were very friendly and curtious. I look forward to my next visit

We stayed two nights in a spacious room within the Villa Gualtieri, with balcony and wonderful views over the valley. Lots of space, great bed and great shower. |All the staff are so friendly and helpful, a big shout to Roberto for his knowledge of wine and his hard work in the afternoon at the bar, the bar and terrace overlooks the vineyards. |Top quality organic wines and olive oil, all made on the estate, compliment very well the local produce used for the carefully created menus. |Excellent coffee to start the day with the abundance of choices for breakfast. |Orvieto is not far and well worth the visit. |We can't wait to go again!

The restaurant was average. The wellness center and massage were excellent. Nice views. Difficult to navigate the property at night as buildings are not clearly marked. Excellent views from patio off the room, but the room itself was too small. Fortunately I was traveling by myself. If my wife had been able to join me, the room was way too small.

You will want to return again and again. The views are beautiful, the wine and olive oil and food are fantastic and the staff are some of the warmest people you will meet. Please make sure you book the spa because it is an experience you will always remember. The details in this property will amaze you. Every time you enter Altarooca you will feel like you are returning home and surrounded by love. I can't wait to return. I ship olive oil home every time I visit and I cook with it every day. It is my favorite.

Honestly couldn't have asked for better for my birthday trip.||The food at the restaurant was exceptional. The additional experiences such as the picnic and winery tour were well organised and interesting. The spa was magical, especially Mosaico by Night, when we had the whole spa to ourselves and a three course dinner in the relaxation area.||Can't recommend highly enough!

I had the pleasure of staying at Altarocca Hotel near Orvieto, and it was truly unforgettable. The room was beautifully designed—spacious, comfortable, and with sweeping views of the vineyards and Umbrian countryside. Every detail reflected a sense of care and refinement, making it the perfect setting to relax and unwind. Combined with warm hospitality and wonderful cuisine, Altarocca is a place I would return to in a heartbeat.

This was our first night in Italy. We had booked only the one night and wish we had stayed for two or three. Truely a first-class facility. The building and grounds are stunning and the views of the Tuscan hillside from atop the property are breathtaking. A must stay.

The food was very good, lovely views from the vineyard and the price was actually pretty reasonable. The waiter, Roberto was terrific and was willing to share a lot of local knowledge with us, that was super helpful. The only negative was some self absorbed dog owners feel the need to bring their dogs with them to an otherwise elegant restaurant, like they are going to a picnic or backyard BBQ, very selfish.

Our entire experience here was magical. My fiancé and I were taking a trip all over Italy and this was our absolute favorite place! Everything from the excellent service to the spectacular resort made our stay here so enjoyable. We are even thinking of this as one of our options for our wedding! Before our visit, I had emailed the resort to help me set up a surprise birthday dinner for my fiancé. Eleonor was so prompt to answer each time and she was so incredibly helpful in helping me plan this amazing night from so far away. I can't say enough about her excelent costumer service as well as everyone from the breakfast restaurant to the dinner restaurant to even the pool bartenders! Thank you so much for making this so special for us! We can't wait to be back one day!
