Alte Meister is an amazing restaurant in the heart of Dresden! The location is stunning, right next to the Zwinger, offering a beautiful ambiance both inside and on the terrace. The service was impeccable—attentive, professional, and welcoming. The food was outstanding, with a well-curated menu featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The wine selection was also excellent, complementing the meal perfectly. Beautiful café with extremely picturesque view on the Theaterplatz in Dresden! We got seated at the lounge, which I would highly recommend! It has quite a variety of different dishes with nice wine pairings. It’s also a nice spot for a break to enjoy a cold draft beer or a coffee variation. Prices are a bit more on the pricey side, but definitely worth it! (Rated and graded as a café)

We went for lunch. The place was empty (one more table with people). We ordered soup and a couple of salads. It took FOREVER to get our food, after a couple of reminders. The food was ok, but less than what we had expected, based on the reviews. Overall disappointing. The staff wasn’t friendly at all. Before we left, the waiter apologized for the delay and said that he “had other things to take care of”. Ha? What’s more important than serving your customers? SKIP THIS PLACE!!

One of the best meals I've had on my trip. The service was excellent the food was hot and very tasty. A great wine as well made for a perfect lunch overlooking the Opera House. Thank you.

The location is amazing especially when you eat outside. You can see the opera Catholic Church and a bit of the castle. The food was hit and miss. My wife had one of her favourite meals in our European trip. My veal however was over cooked and was a fairly difficult job chewing. The portion size was huge after much smaller portion sizes we were used to in Eastern Europe.

Fantastic food that is well thought out and executed, the atmosphere is so lovely (both inside in winter and outside in summer) and the waiters very friendly. We come here every time we are in Dresden and are never disappointed. Thank you for a lovely time!

We used to love this place and have been coming here for years but our last visit kind of dissapointed us. The food was kind of tasteless, the fish was not well prepared and the aubergine was badly cooked without any spices... I guess we will have to find a new favorite place even though when it comes to atmosphere, the restaurant is really nice.

I went there on a break from my 1st day tour in the old town. +) The cuisine is decent and the service efficient & welcoming +) the location is very central, good alternative for such a lunch break -) the atmosphere, albeit close to the heart of the old town, is a cold and standard (not much soul) -) the price is high. Low value for money for a country like Germany (in my experience) I gave it 4 star still, because it's as good as can be expected in such a touristic place - maybe even a bit better! Reliable solution if you don't want to spend ages looking for a lunch solution in the area.

We just sat outside with some snacks and drinks waiting for the doors to open for some opera. It was a nice place overlooking the square. Service however wasn't the swiftest. So don't go here if you only have a few minutes to spare. Otherwise, the place is fine, but somehow lacked the usual East-German warmth.

We visited this place based by tripadvisor reviews and it surely was great. Lovely setting (ask for a table by the window to get the best view if not being able to sit outside). Food is excellent andthe service is fantastic. i will definately return.
