"A 10-minute stroll will lead you from these spots to Alte Utting. Once a ferry boat beloved for cruising a nearby Bavarian lake in the summertime, the MSS Utting was transplanted upon its retirement to a disused railway bridge by a pair of brothers and turned into one of Munich’s finest bars."

It's a really weird place, independent food stalls making delicious food and the boat is the pub. They give you little tokens, one for each drink, to encourage you to return the bottle or glass your drink is in. Each token is worth €1. Well worth a visit.

We had a great time at Alte Utting. This is definitely a unique place to visit! It has its own vibe. There is no one restaurant inside or smth like that, it's more of a place for everyone to stay in and get in love the atmosphere. You can borrow some board games, eat pizza or crepes from the food tents outside or order the bevereges just inside. There is also a lot of places both inside and outside of the boat. I do recommend this place for visiting at least for it's unique design and style!

Very good experience with delicious food . A very kind and friendly woman offering amazing African food with a smile. Authentic pasta from the Pizzeria Da Vito . Enough space for meeting groups of friends or a cozy date. The bistro on the upper deck offers nice coffee and drinks (accept cards only). Nice hangout place👍🏽😍

One of my favourite places in Munich! It has a large surface on the bridge and it is beautiful in every corner, so, although it is usually rather full, you will always find a place to sit and enjoy it. I prefer clearly the outdoors space, as the inside of the boat feels like it echoes too much. You have to wait often in long lines for the food kiosks, but I would say that it is worth it. I highly recommend the Pizza, which I prefer every time. The Crepe that I once tried was too small and empty for its price. The prices are also generally good.

A very interesting location, considering that it is a real ship :) It can contain a lot of people, which you can't tell at first glance. Relaxed atmosphere, fast service. I recommend coming at sunset, but keep in mind that at this time, in good weather, it's full of people and you will have to look for a place for a while.

Cool place! Wasn’t too crowded and good vibes around! Definitely worth checking out while in Munich if you’re looking for a hipster vibe!

Very funny place, so you must stop over when in München. Where else you can find a boot on a bridge in the middle of town. Around the boat a little restaurant. Try the African one yummy

Something unique in Munich. Best place to hangout with friends. Drinks are but costly but worth for the atmosphere and beautiful sunset view. It’s quite huge than how it looks from outside. You actually can sit inside the Engine room. Lovely place .. must visit at least once

Yelp
The first time I visited this spot was on a previous trip to Munich. A couple of years later, I was pleased to find almost all of the same food stalls, which was especially good news since I'd been craving the rosemary potatoes with remoulade since I'd first tasted them all that time ago. It's a little off the beaten path from central Munich, but definitely worth the trek. The neighborhood has a real artsy and Bohemian feel, and so does this spot. Essentially, it's a collection of food stalls with picnic seating, and most notably, seating within a reclaimed/renovated boat. During the weekends it can get crowded, but it's almost always possible to find somewhere to sit, even if not your first choice. The food vendors serve up a variety of cuisines, including Thai, Indian, and African. As mentioned, my personal favorite is the rosemary potatoes with remoulade at the German place, which I'd been craving since my first visit. If you're ever in Munich this is a much stop, especially if you're with a group or meeting friends. The spot makes a perfect end-of-day wind-down spot or a midday break. And, of course, they have a bar and serve drinks too! My recommendation is to come on a sunny day and linger for a couple of hours.

Yelp
Someone had the idea of rescuing an old ferry ship that was headed to the scrap yard and put it up in Munich on top of an old railway bridge and turn it into a beer garden / bar. And so began the journey of this new place in the Schlachthofviertel of Munich. Friends of ours live around the corner from here and invited to board the ferry for a trip ;-) It's all self service here with plenty of seating on and around the ship. There are a few food stalls around with standard Bavarian fare and also a vegan / vegetarian food truck. I had one of the vegan bowls and it was quite nice. A great place to visit when the sun is shining. Not quite sure how this place will fare during the winter months and only time will tell.

Yelp
A one of a kind gem in the heart of Munich. So many different food choices from Bavarian to African. Entertainment, artists and more. One of my new favorite 'secret' spots.

Yelp
This is the kind of place you go to hang out with a bunch of friends, part bar, part music venue, part restaurant, with a bunch of beer garden vibes. It's a cool experience and beautiful when the sun is setting. There are plenty of food options, and the prices are fairly high compared to most beer gardens, but then again this isn't a typical beer garden.

Yelp
Amazing with great food and beer. The atmosphere and people were very nice and there are many spaces to explore and hang out in and enjoy!
