The first time I visited this spot was on a previous trip to Munich. A couple of years later, I was pleased to find almost all of the same food stalls, which was especially good news since I'd been craving the rosemary potatoes with remoulade since I'd first tasted them all that time ago. It's a little off the beaten path from central Munich, but definitely worth the trek. The neighborhood has a real artsy and Bohemian feel, and so does this spot. Essentially, it's a collection of food stalls with picnic seating, and most notably, seating within a reclaimed/renovated boat. During the weekends it can get crowded, but it's almost always possible to find somewhere to sit, even if not your first choice. The food vendors serve up a variety of cuisines, including Thai, Indian, and African. As mentioned, my personal favorite is the rosemary potatoes with remoulade at the German place, which I'd been craving since my first visit. If you're ever in Munich this is a much stop, especially if you're with a group or meeting friends. The spot makes a perfect end-of-day wind-down spot or a midday break. And, of course, they have a bar and serve drinks too! My recommendation is to come on a sunny day and linger for a couple of hours.
