Xavier and crew are fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the area and have great recommendations. Rooms are spacious and clean. Easy check in. HOT showers. Museum across the street and only a 15 minute walk from the center of town.

I just stopped in here for breakfast on my way to museum. The breakfast was fantastic. I had the best pineapple juice of my life! Scrambled eggs with avocado toast with sautéed veggies, fruit juice and coffee all included. Really great. Lovely service too!

Really nice hostel just outside of the city center. The volunteers were extremely friendly and helpfull and even gave us some free popcorn after they made to much. Rooms were good and hostel was clean. Breakfast is included and served at the cafe next door, this was as well delicious!

AlterNative hostel is perfect in every way. |I had to cancel my reservations because of the strikes, I couldn't make it there and they were flexible to let me cancel. And finally I made it there, and I had the best rest there. ||Very nice, warm and helpful owner and staffs!|Modern, new and well decorated building|Sofa area with tv, Netflix and a terrace.|Comfort bed and very clean room and bathroom. |The spacious kitchen and the dinning room is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. I enjoy cooking there every day.|Good wifi, good hot shower, free towel||Xavier and the staffs were really helpful to arrange a private car and contacted them for us to get out to Peru when there was no bus going. And |let me stay and use the facilities in the hostel after checking out.|And they let my other friends in other hostels to wait in the hostel with us before the private car arrive(Even told them that they can use the kitchen. How kind is that!)||The travelers in the hostel are all very friendly and respectful. Quiet at night. ||The location is perfect right across Pumapungo museum. And walking distance to the centro.||No free breakfast but got discount for the cafe next door, which offers really good breakfast and brunch with reasonable price.||This is one of the best hostels during my trip in Latin America, and also very good price. I almost didn't want to leave because it was too nice there.|Highly recommended to stay in AlterNative when visiting Cuenca.

We spend one week at the Alter Native hostel. As digital nomads, we needed a nice quiet place to catch up with some work. This place is perfect, the room is bright and super clean, common areas are amazing and well designed. The staff is lovely and very helpful. The hostel has a bar next to it where we had nice breakfasts at a super reasonable price. Love this place so much, so sad we had to go.

Located only a short walk into the historic centre. The building itself is well-designed and very light, with plenty of space to chill out and Netflix is available downstairs. There are two balconies and a patio outside next to their coffee shop. The kitchen is fairly well-stocked and the bedrooms are spacious. There are plenty of bathrooms. There is a fair amount of noise from the road at night but it didn't bother us too much. Staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of spending two nights in this fabulous hostel while in Cuenca. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the staff are so helpful and it’s a super chilled and quiet place to stay. They have great communal places to chill out in and there is a cafe attached to the hostel that makes the most amazing breakfasts! We especially loved the vegetarian breakfast of eggs, toast, pancakes, fruit, juice and coffee. All for $4! Honestly couldn’t recommend this place more.

this is a very nice hostel It’s more like a Airbnb Cuz the whole house feel like home Cozy couch Full equipped kitchen And I love the sofa area in 3rd floor You can enjoy sunshine inside the house 🥰 love the quite relaxing vibe And staff are very helpful &friendly! Highly recommend 👍🏻
