Altes Pfarrhaus - Biergarten Kastanienhof

It was a very nice find this restaurant, the location is beautiful behind a church with the Kastanien trees in the outside and a very cozy and authentic decor. I tried the Angus beef Rumpsteak with butter (kräuterbutter), a salad and Pommes-frites, it was really enjoyable. However the surprise of the evening was the desert, vanilla ice cream with homemade orange chutney very zesty but sweet, fresh and creamy really surprising combination that I will definitely want to try again.

My order was absolutely delicious (Maultaschen mit Zwiebelsauce). Service was so friendly and the staff really made sure I was a happy guest. Recommendation!

Thank you Altes Pfarrhaus team! We are in town moving my MIL into long-term care and trying to empty out the apartment making sure that everything gets donated to the right places and recycled the right way as well as visiting my MIL and getting her settled as happily as possible. We didn't realize it was Sunday until we couldn't get dinner in the village we are staying in, so when we saw on google maps that this place was open till 9 and only 10 minutes away we thought we'd try it. It turned out that the kitchen was closed kind of by the time we arrived at probably 8:30. We were told apologetically that we would need to hurry and the menu was limited, but we quickly selected Flammkuchen and a beer for my husband and a Spätburgunder for me. It all came quickly and was delicious and it was lovely after our long and difficult day to sit in the beer garden under the big trees and just enjoy it. We realize that they were likely cooking after hours for us and would like to say thank you again!

The staff was really friendly and helpful with us and they made sure i was welcomed , the food was delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere was really nice too!!
