What really got me was seeing the spot where the Nazis burned books, the book titles are written into the ground and some are even very surprising. This building definitely has a rich past, with many famous figures passing through its doors. Plus, the surrounding streets are wonderful for a stroll, with so many great cafes to choose from! And it's Bonn, so you feel Beethoven's presence all around.

Lucky to be here on the day of carnival. A truly magnificent historic building. It was closed. Brogue designs throughout the building. All set to receive floats of various characters.

It is a very picturesque city hall but as said by some - it falls under ''typical'' and ''standard'' category of city halls, something you would expect to see in many German cities. Regardless of that, it's worth to stop by (even though you cannot do a tour inside) and admire the stunning well preserved rococo exterior or/and enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants located on the Marktplatz.

Very nice rococò style City Hall, that was built between 1737 and 1738 by the court french architect Michel Leveilly, who was inspired by the Augustusburg Castle in Brühl in designing the building. I don't think it's possible to visit it on the inside.

I didn't go inside but the exterior design was beautiful. There is also a market in the same place in front of the altes rathaus.

A beautiful building and the site of many historic visits. I didn’t get to go inside but admired its architecture from the outside.
