We booked two nights at Altiplanico Bellas Artes, after having a wonderful stay at the Altiplanico in Puerto Natales. Our stay at Bellas Artes, unfortunately, was somewhat disappointing. We booked what they call a “suite,” which was essentially a large traditional hotel room with a bathtub randomly placed in the middle of it. The design as a whole prioritized aesthetics over functionality and simply didn’t make sense. For example, there was a rainfall shower head that didn’t work, both because it seemingly wasn’t connected to the plumbing and would flood the bathroom if it turned on. Oddest of all was that there was an advertisement and menu for Papa John’s in the room. It felt like something that belonged in a “by the hour” roadside motel, not an upscale hotel suite. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing special and the staff seemed disinterested in providing a memorable stay for guests. An exception is the man who greeted us when we checked in very late after a flight delay. He was extremely welcoming and friendly. The pillows were also very comfortable. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, clean, and in a good location, but I imagine there are better places out there in the same price category that would provide a better experience.
