"Though Altis Avenida belongs indeed to the Altis chain, benefitting from the standardized service and professionalism that confers, it’s got the style and the character you’d expect from an independent operation. A 70-unit boutique hotel and cosmopolitan landmark in the city center, blessed with considerable views, this place has a knack for bringing together folks from all walks of life." - Tablet Hotels

From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Throughout our time here, they were extremely accommodating and always ready to help. The location is fantastic — centrally located and close to everything, yet surprisingly quiet. Our room faced the street and we barely heard a thing. The rooftop is truly a standout feature — the views are breathtaking both day and night, and it never felt crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend staying here. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Where to start? Everything exceeded our expectations which are high. We were booked in for five nights....||We asked for a quiet end of corridor room and were given one however it overlooked the side of a square and thus we thought it could be noisy....how wrong we were. The glazing is superb and despite having two doors out to balcony we heard nothing. The room was compact but very well designed having enough furniture to be useful but none to get in the way. The small bathroom had a deep tub with excellent shower over it. A small fridge kept my quickly delivered small jug of fresh milk cool. We travel with our own tea bags so did not use the in room espresso machine on this occasion. The bed with an excellent king mattress, pillows and linen were top notch. It is rare to find such a good selection of pillows in a hotel these days. Most importantly the room preparation crew did an excellent job and the whole hotel was spotless.||Being give some custard tarts, a small bottle of port upon arrival and a bottle of red vino for our last night were lovely touches. ALL the staff we came across were friendly and helpful and the waiters in the restaurant were delightful and chatty in the best way. We ate in the bar one night and found the selection of foods to be very interesting and tasty. ||Breakfast buffet was exceptionally managed and never looked unkept or swamped and provided a plethora of foods including some excellent yoghurt in little glass jars as well as a impressive selection of hot and cold food.||Would we return....you bet as the hotel is central to most of the sights in Lisbon and right opposite the train station for trains to Sintra.||We left for the short taxi ride to the airport and hour too early as Lisbon airport which was exceptionally busy, seemed able to cope with hordes of passengers until you get to your boarding gate where seats are at a minimum.

I stayed here for one night and had a great experience. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained. The front desk staff were friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to accommodate me, even without a reservation — they got me checked in earlier than expected and even gave excellent recommendations for restaurants in the city. The room was spotless, stocked with plenty of fresh towels and toiletries, and offered a great view of the city. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight, with stunning views of the entire city. Overall, an excellent stay with outstanding service. I’d definitely return and recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel 23rd-26th October 2025.||This is how a city hotel should be organised and managed. It is in the hart of the city and in my opinion the best location for visitors. A five star hotel that lives up to its rating. Clean, tidy and welcoming. A big part of what makes a hotel worth visiting is how the staff interact with guests. This hotel has staff that are falling over themselves to make your stay enjoyable. They are not in your face but somehow know how and when to help. They strike a good balance between being professional and curtious. ||The rooms are well proportioned and decorated very well. They are serviced to a good standard every day. Turndown service is offered. If possible reserve a room with a balcony. This may not be to everybody’s taste but if you like to watch the hustle and bustle of a vibrant city it helps. Nice touches like little presents await on occasion on return to your room. Great to enjoy on the balcony. The LG tv’s in each room offer something for everyone.||Sparkling wine and cookies are on offer in the chilling area of the reception 24hrs.||Rossios roof top bar on the 7th floor is well staffed and has a very good menu for food and drinks. It allows for a grand view almost 360 degrees over the city. The 8th floor is reserved for residents only and has a sundeck. Unfortunately we weren’t able to use this facility due to the inclement weather!||Breakfast is buffet style and has multiple options. Eggs can be ordered any way you would prefer. The food is cooked very well and the staff are very helpful. ||We will be returning.

Absolutely lovely experiences. We stayed a few places in Spain and here in Portugal over a 10 day period and this was our favorite hotel! The location is perfect. The staff went above and beyond to be kind and helpful. The room was lovely and they surprised us with complimentary champagne and macarons for our honeymoon! The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and we ate there every day!! We also had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious! Would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone coming to Lisbon!

We had a wonderful experience at the Altis Avenida Hotel. The location is perfect in Lisbon; right by 2 metros lines and the Rossio train station. The service was excellent. We got upgraded to room with a balcony which was a very nice touch. The room was very comfortable, clean, and modern. It was cleaned daily and provided with fresh botteld water. |Breakfast was great on the rooftop where we could eat outside every morning. There was a varety of fruits, cheeses, hot food, cereals, and juices as well as a choice for freshly made eggs in any way that you would want them.|The roof top for drinks and hanging out was amazing. The views were beautiful. On Mondays and Tuesdays, the rooftop is only open for htoel guests, so it's very chill up there.|There is also a sundeck on teh 8th floor for relaxing.|The staff were all very professional.|When we come back to Lisbon, we will stay here again.

We spent three days at this hotel. It’s definitely close to a five star hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The staff were really welcoming at check-in and were always able to help with recommendations and directions for places to eat and places to visit. The bellboy took our luggage and it was waiting for us in our bedroom later after check in. The hotel is situated in a really good location, and proximity to all attractions. We stayed in a superior room that was well decorated, with all the facilities you would expect and a comfortable bed with multiple types of pillow. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning with delicious fresh orange juice. The staff were amazing at their job. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, both warm and cold. We felt really safe inside the hotel as there were always staff at the door to welcome you and you needed your room key in order to use the lift to go up to the rooms. Some things we hope the hotel could improve in the future would be to improve the soundproofing, especially from the hallways around the bedrooms. We were woken multiple times every night by guests returning to their rooms and their doors slamming shut. If we stayed here again, we would choose a different room, maybe on a higher level. It would have been nice to have received a welcome drink or option to sit down when checking in after a long journey. Thank you Altis Avenida Hotel.

Yelp
Was in Lisbon for a week and visited several Michelin star restaurants..., but it was nearly impossible to pull me away from the rooftop bar at my hotel. The views were lovely, the staff was friendly, attentive, kind and anticipated my every need. Highly recommend. Would stay there again and again.

Yelp
I only spent 1 night here, but I would come back if in the area again. The location is terrific. The view from our room was fantastic. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was on the smaller side, but the amenities in the room were nice. They will provide bottled water daily. The rooftop deck has a nice view and I could see relaxing here after a long day of sightseeing. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant, which was excellent. There is no gym, but they do offer access to another gym in the area.

Yelp
Wonderful lobby staff so interested in welcoming weary travelers. Perfect location. Well appointed and very clean rooms. Excellent bell and housekeeping service. Epic rooftop with relaxing and tanning deck with pleasant breeze, outdoor shower & reclining chairs. Nice restaurant on 7th floor Rossario, also with great balcony and views. Enjoyed drinks there one night and drinks another with late meal. This is the rare hotel that will be memorable.

Yelp
I would CERTAINLY stay here again! It was in a GREAT swanky cool location. And my room faced the Rossio Square which is literally the hotel's backyard! Pretty good room service of which I used more than once. Beautiful rooftop with a bar and restaurant, splendid views good tapas from the bar. Residents have exclusive access to a higher sundeck too! Rooms are cozy with Nespresso, mini fridge and small TV. The breakfast buffet every morning and it's good. The staff is sincerely kind and respectful. I went during their Superbowl so it was a fun time to be there! Great restaurants all around it in short walking distance too!!

Yelp
Beautiful rooftop hotel in the swanky part of town. Rooms are cozy with nespresso mini fridge and TVs {although those were strangely small for a nice hotel}. The upstairs deck is wonder with views of the city for drinks in pm, and for breakfast buffet in the am. There is also a sundeck only accessible for guests on top floor to relax and lounge. Wifi is free and room service is relatively quick. We had a corner, family suite with two adjoining rooms, which word is relatively spacious and comfortable. We did smell smoke in the hallway, every afternoon- which was strange considering it's smoke free but the rooms were fresh. Would stay again.

Yelp
This hotel has the best location close to all the major attractions. The subway station is located right next to the hotel. The hotel staff are all professional and efficient. The breakfast was delicious and complete with both hot and cold items. Fresh squeezed juice was also provided. The room was comfortable and stocked with a good coffee machine and bottled water. The bathroom was spacious and had a nice and powerful shower. There was also ample charging outlets in the room. All in all, we had an excellent stay and would be back to stay at this property if we are back in Lisbon.

Yelp
Unfailingly friendly staff, from the front desk attendants to the guy who escorted me to my room to the folks that keep the restaurant running, everyone at the Altis Avenida Hotel is top notch! The airport is super close (like €10 cab ride close) to the hotel so it's perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Small, but not too small, with 70 rooms, the hotel is centrally located and you can walk to nearly everywhere desirable in the city from here. Opposite the train station, you're 45 minutes from Sintra (I had hoped to get there but ran out of time - dont's make the same mistake!). Rooms are well appointed (sumptuous sheets, bidets, blackout curtains) and the wifi is steady. If you stay at the Altis Avenida, spend lots of time up on the roof (where the restaurant is located), the views from up there are spectacular. And make sure to hike up to the Castelo de São Jorge, it's an easy climb from the hotel and totally worth it.

Yelp
UPDATE: The hotel reached out to me via Facebook to contact me directly. An apology and refund has been issued.
